Palo Duro Canyon

We woke up on July 6 in the Cracker Barrel parking lot, so of course we had to have Cracker Barrel for breakfast!
After breakfast, we were ready to hit the road! We drove to Palo Duro Canyon for an overnight stop before heading on to New Mexico. This is our 3rd time here, and while we haven't gone on any of their huge hikes, we have gotten to see and explore a little bit more each time we've visited.

A little place called Happy.

Our first stop was to the Sad Monkey Mercantile for some fire wood!

We found our camp site and just hung out for a bit.

And then we got out and explored.

DJ cooked us dinner and we sat out by the fire; thankfully it had cooled off and was a gorgeous night!

And of course we had s'mores!

Our little camping pup! We love having Gabby along on our adventures.

The 4th of July & Adalyn's Birthday

On the 4th of July, Megan, Adalyn, and I went to the water park for the morning!

It was fun to hang out pool side in our red white and blue! We met a friend there and had a great morning relaxing and playing!

The girls each got a hat, and they had their faces painted!

We came home, and all went to the neighborhood pool for a bit!

These two had fun stunting.

Then we sat outside to watch all of our neighbors shoot off fireworks.

Our neighhbors were even kind enough to share!

Adalyn took her "last night as a 10 year old" picture.

And I was exhausted! But, I always decorate the girls a birthday table and I decided I just didn't have it in me. So, Gretchen and Megan stayed up and decorated for her! It was so sweet!

She woke up to presents, and insisted on opening them before breakfast.

And then she had her birthday cinnamon roll.

She requested lunch out.

The restaurant celebrated her with ice cream that I swear was covered in corn flakes!

And we let her have some bubblegum!

A few birthday celebration pictures!

And we were in the car for a drive to Abilene!

Because we were heading out on a week long trip to Colorado!!!

We had dinner and slept in the parking lot at Cracker Barrel!

SEC Kick Off

On July 1, Texas was officially welcomed in to the SEC. And of course, nothing is small in Texas, and you know the university had to go all out with a big celebration!
The SEC network was there and did a whole show.

We sat on the lawn while DJ and the other girls explored a bit.

There was a whole SEC experience house- which we skipped because the line was long!

But of course we had to stop for some photos.

DJ and Megan rode the Ferris Wheel!

I ran in to Rachel of Longhorn Finds!

There was a concert on the lawn, but it was getting crazy crowded; so we headed to the stadium to watch the fireworks with the best view and zero people. Working for the team has it's advantages.

Do you see the tower lit up SEC?

And we ended the night with a drone show.

It was such a crazy big welcome in to the SEC.
