Friday Favorites

Happy Friday! I'm working today since I had Monday off, but we have big weekend plans; celebrating our 15 year old and her birthday with a sleepover party.... another birthday party on Saturday... church on Sunday. I'm totally going to regret not taking today off- ha!

I'm linking up and sharing my Friday Favorites. Just some random favorites from the last week.

I started making sourdough bread about 2 years ago. I'm working on revamping my sourdough starter, which has been a long and not so easy process, but in the meantime, I'm baking some yummy treats!

I made sourdough scones that were delicious!
And sourdough doughnuts that weren't so bad- next time, i'll use the air fryer though and see if they come out a little better.

Baking with sourdough is definitely a favorite hobby!

A clean play room always makes me happy, and let's face it- it doesn't happen that often. I'm hoping this Spring I can reorganize some things, because it's a hodge podge of a mess, but it's definitely a space I want to freshen up- even if that just means moving some pictures around.
This diffuser blend was a favorite.

Rosemary- Northern Lights- Peppermint

Gabby's favorite spot is on the back of our sofa.

I found a few favorites for y'all from Shop The Soho. You can use the code ITSELAINEWELTE to take 15% off your order. And don't forget to check out their gameday collections!
Speaking of Game Day.... the lovely ladies at the End Zone podcast had me as a guest last week, and I was able to share our football story, some things I've learned along the way. We chatted about our surprise Christmas puppy and some shows we're watching too! You can listen to my episode here

Alright, I'm off to finish a day of work, and get ready for a busy weekend filled with birthday parties and sleepovers!

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday friends! It's been a week. I'm so thankful that it's Friday; I'm thankful for the weekend, and I'm thankful for the warm weather we've been having in Texas. I'm linking up today with Andrea & Erika and sharing a few favorites from the week.

So glad you're here.

1. A clean kitchen. Can I get an Amen.

I've been working really hard this year at making sure our house is just picked up and the kitchen is clean before we go to bed. Thankfully, the kids help and they're on kitchen duty the nights that they don't have activities, but so far, we've done a god job this year and it hasn't gotten too out of hand. Waking up the next morning and walking in to a clean kitchen is the best.

2. Saturday morning soccer games.

Adalyn is playing pfutsal this year which is just indoor soccer. She's doing great and it's fun watching her. We don't have a lot of weekend activities right now, so while some days I'd rather sleep in, I will admit that I get a lot done when I have to wake up and take her to her games. It's a total catch 22. But also, DJ is home right now and he's been able to tag along and we are so thankful for that. She loves soccer, and me getting to watch her do her thing- that's definitely a favorite

3. Pizza nights!

Last Saturday we made pizza from scratch. The girls helped me top the homemade crust with our favorite toppings- pepperoni, sausage, bell pepper, and bacon.

What do you like on your pizza?

4. This weather.

Seriously, we're having the 2nd hottest January on record, and I'm not mad about it. We lived in Indiana for 4 years and I know I'm not a cold weather girl. The fact that we can get outside, go on walks, go hiking- it's just gorgeous and it's a favorite

5. Young Living Sales

Young Living has carried a make up line that I've loved for years, but it's being discontinued and while I'm sad that a few of my favorite products are going away- I'm stocking up while the products are on crazy sale! Seriously, there's stuff discounted to $1.50 and the eye shadow pallette is less than $20.00. I ordered eye shadow, lip gloss, and make up brushes and saved big bucks!

6. Gabby is always a favorite

Sorry, you're going to get picture overload like all the time. I feel awful that she's in the kennel most of the day, so I make sure to take her in the car with me when I have to get the girls.
We've gone on a lot of afternoon walks, which led to playing at the park and going down the slides with Adalyn.
Her favorite spot is on the back of the couch.

But also, how cute is she in her bed

Another afternoon, another car pool trip for our favorite new puppy.

A few favorite finds.......

This long tee you can wear with leggings.

A shacket that is just $25.00, there are a lot of color/design options too!

These super fun colorful earrings

Have a blessed Friday friends!!!

Friday Favorites

Now that we've covered Christmas, the Alamo Bowl, and our new puppy we are all caught up on the blog! And I'm so glad, because today we are kicking off with Friday Favorites and I've got some great stuff planned for you guys in the next few weeks!

First on our list of favorites....
Taking Gabby for a walk and the weather we've been having.

We've had sunny days and highs in the 60s and 70s and it's been gorgeous. We've taken Gabby on lots of walks around our smaller block and the bigger block.
Gabby and I were snuggled on the couch last Friday night, DJ walked in Gabby showed him all of her teeth. We were cracking up!

Friday night, Megan was at gymnastics. Gretchen was at play practice, and Adalyn was at a play date. DJ and I tried a new local restaurant and had a little date night! Definitely a favorite!

Saturday morning, Adalyn had soccer and then we went to a birthday party!
We spent the rest of the afternoon cleaning, doing laundry and jumping on the trampoline. DJ also put his bed cover on to his truck.

We went to church on Sunday after being gone for several weeks while we were traveling, cleaned out our garage, and just knocked off a lot on our to do list.

Having DJ home a little more often has been a favorite!

For Christmas, I received this heated eye lash curler and I'm obsessed y'all! I haven't used an eye lash curler in years, but this one charges, and heats up and works great!

Sunday morning it was cool enough that I could wear a sweater to church, and this one is warm and cozy. Plus its a great length with leggings or jeans. I purchased it in the Fall and it's definitely one i've worn time and time again.

This weekend, we have gymnastics, soccer, and play practice. The girls have been keeping us busy! But, the weather is suppose to be nice and if DJ doesn't have a recruiting event then we're going to try to go hiking!

Happy Friday friends!

Friday Faves

Happy Friday! This last week has been crazy for our family. And, it's not slowing down. While I usually enjoy my Friday's off, I'm working today to make up for the time I was out last week and earlier this week. This weekend is going to be busy too, because we have a kiddo celebrating her birthday on Saturday! I'm looking forward to some tie-dying sleepover fun!

Today I'm linking up with Andrea & Erika for some Friday Favorites.
First, not a favorite. Remember when we wrapped up our Spring Break vacation to drive to Oxford, Ms? We really went to say goodbye to DJ's brother in law. He has endlessly and tiredlessly fought cancer over the last 3 1/2 years, and we got word that he wasn't doing well, So we went to say goodbye.
It was one of the hardest things we've had to do and we are so so thankful that we could see him one more time.  After our Thursday night flight home from Florida, we did 2 loads of laundry, repacked, and we were on the road by 4 am Friday to drive to Arkansas to be with family.
Gretchen's 8th grade formal was Friday night and we had to make the decision to take her to Arkansas with us, or to let her go to the dance. This was something she was really looking forward to and we just couldn't ask her to miss it. Because my mom had been with the girls for the week, we extended her stay by two days so she could be with Gretchen and help her get ready for the dance. While I hated that we couldn't have the experience together, I realize there will be many many more, and because my mom lives so far away, she wouldn't have the experience with her granddaughter. So, while it was bittersweet for me, it was a special experience for my mom and daughter.

She had a hair appointment at Ulta, and my mom sent me pics throughout.
Since DJ and I weren't going to be there, we bought Gretchen a corsage to wear. We had picked out her dress early in April and it was perfect. At the time we debated long and formal, but we opted for short and simple yet elegant, and it was perfectly appropriate for a 14 year old. She also wore a necklace of mine that had blue stones, and she was stunning.
She paired her dress with tennis shoes which was perfect for hitting up the dance floor.
She said she was the only one that had a short twirly dress, and she loved it.
While she was having the time of her life, these girls were enjoying their time together. Although we were in a hard situation, they loved playing together and were hopefully a bright spot in each other's day.

Later that night, they had some princess dress up time.
Adalyn asked to have her picture taken on Saturday morning. She was just so precious.
After services and lunch on Saturday morning, we all opted to relax pool side. Megan decided to flip her way down the hall to the pool.
Sweet cousins.
Sweet daughter.
I just can't get over this cutie.

We ended Saturday night with dinner and an early bedtime. We were exhausted.
Sunday morning we celebrated Mother's Day.
We were able to celebrate with DJ's stepmom, mom, and sister with brunch in the hotel.
All the mommas and kiddos. We were so glad to have this time with all of the family. Despite the sadness of the circumstances, our family all lives so far away so we cherish the time we do have together.
Sunday afternoon we made the drive to my parent's house. My mom had flown home the day before, Gretchen was staying with our aunt that has moved to Austin, and I told DJ that we've never seen all of our mom's on Mother's day before!
After dinner the girls played soccer with DJ.
and they had a cousin sleepover.
On Monday we drove back to Texas. We were all looking forward to being home.
Tuesday night, Adalyn had her end of the year soccer party, and she received two awards! One for being a "busy bee" because she was always running all over the field, and the 2nd for being a "team captain" because she was always encouraging and helpful. So proud of this girl!
Megan's new team practice leo came in today, and she loves how soft it is! She practices 22 hours a week, and will compete level 4i n August. She's also raising money for her booster club; you can click here to make a donation.
And finally, be sure you're following me on IG to enter to win my May giveaway! This month I'm giving away a diffuser and a few essential oils for your home!
