Friday Favorites: Girls Week Edition

Happy Friday Peeps!!!! We did it! We survived the school year- yay!!!! Today is our last Friday of school, and then we head back Monday because we had one snow day, so we need to make that up. But basically, I'll be re-organizing my office, finalizing paperwork and not seeing kiddos! So, we're just going to pretend that today is it!
I'm linking up today for Friday Favorites and sharing my favorite moments from the week.

This week, DJ had his CSVA convention in Atlanta so I was flying solo. He left bright and early Monday morning, and I managed to get all of the girls dressed and ready, despite Megan complaining of her tummy hurting. We dropped off Adalyn and Megan was pretty much in tears over her tummy, but I kept telling her that we were going to TRY to make it through the day. But, I grabbed a plastic bag from Addy's daycare just in case. And, it's a good thing I did because she threw up when we were almost to school. It was definitely not a favorite moment of mine, but luckily, she has good aim.

So, I dropped off Gretchen and called in that I would be heading home with Megan. I spent the day being crazy productive with my Young Living gig while she watched Netflix and played with her dolls. And strangely enough, she was fine for the rest of the day. I had called my mom and told her to be prepared to head up just in case Megan was still sick and had to miss another day of school. Thankfully, we didn't need Gee to come and rescue us.
Tuesday morning, I was ready to tackle the day. I wore my new dress from Shop Tailgate. I can already tell that it's going to be on repeat and a favorite for Summer. Unfortunately, this one is sold out, but this one is a similar option. And, you can use the code ELAINEW to save 10% off your order.
Shop Tailgate also sent me one of these fun graphic tee shirts! She has some of the cutest designs! Every Tuesday, Tailgate Tees are 10% off, but you can use my code above for 10% off every day!
So, the transmission has gone out in my car, and we're driving a dealer car until it's fixed (which should be today.) The girls thought the sunroof was extra cool and they all decided to hang out of it Tuesday afternoon. We had a sunroof before, and I have forgotten how much I love having one. And, it's obviously a favorite for the girls.
And sometimes, you have to sneak outside alone, and enjoy an ice cream cone. These ones from Skinny Cow are my favorite.
By Wednesday morning, I was exhausted from this whole solo-parenting gig and had a hard time waking up. I put a few drops of peppermint oil on my shower floor and I felt refreshed and ready to tackle the day! I have so many favorite uses for peppermint oil!
Megan's class had Books and Breakfast Wednesday morning. We enjoyed doughnuts and then she read to me all of the books she created this school year.
Spending some time with my middle and seeing all of her creations was a favorite
So, a bird has built a nest on our back patio, and we have babies!!!! It's so fun to watch the little baby birds (don't worry, we haven't touched them) and to see the mom come back and feed them.
And, I had to remember one of my favorite quotes this week.
Wednesday evening, Gretchen had her musical theater rehearsal. This girl has practiced super hard this year! She's a perfect "lost kid" for Peter Pan. Seeing her on stage is my favorite
And while Gretchen was at rehearsal, the little girls and I snuck off for some dinner at our favorite restaurant.
On Thursday, we celebrated Megan's birthday a few days early by bringing cookies for her classmates! Her real birthday isn't until next Wednesday, but she wanted to celebrate with all of her friends at school.

Megan's birthday shirt is here
Her shorts are here.
And, our favorite shoes are here.

Whew, I'm off to enjoy our Super Kids Day at school today, and then we're going to celebrate the start of summer with a pizza night and Gretchen's recital this weekend! And, we're all going to hug DJ's neck when he walks in the door this afternoon! We sure have missed him!

Weekend Wrap Up: Boston & Rooster Days

Whew! This weekend was busy! And, I probably wouldn't have it any other way, because we spent the weekend with family and just had a blast!

A few weeks ago, DJ and I saw that Boston was coming in concert to the Hard Rock Casino. He told me that it was his dad's favorite band, and we decided to invite them up for the concert! DJ's dad and stepmom arrived Wednesday, and kept Adalyn at home on Thursday.

They had the best time spoiling her!
They took her to a nature park and out for lunch ;)

Later that evening, we headed to Hard Rock for the concert.
DJ and I were the youngest ones there, and I even got carded. Ha!
In our seats and waiting for the show!
Boston put on a heck of a show! Even though I only recognized two of their songs, and I'm not in to "heavy metal" type music, I really enjoyed their guitarist! They played four about two hours!

After the show, we decided to test our luck at some slot machines. We ended up loosing, and then DJ played craps for a while, and Dianna and I attempted the penny slots one more time!
And we both ended up winning about $100.00 each!

Friday morning, the big girls and I headed to school, while DJ and Adalyn stayed home with the grandparents. They explored Tulsa a bit!

I had a meeting after work, and since DJ agreed to pick up the girls from school, I took some time to explore our downtown.
There are the cutest shops and I've wanted to just take some time for a while and browse through them, and this was the perfect opportunity. Plus, I just felt rejuvenated after spending some quiet time exploring.

Saturday morning, we decided to head to the Rooster Days parade and carnival. Rooster Days is an annual event, and we've never made the time to go! I think after this year though, we'll have to make it an annual occurrence!
We were actually late to the parade, but since it lasted almost an hour, the girls didn't mind! And, they managed to squeeze in right up front and had a great view!

They even managed to get a ton of candy!

After the parade, we walked down to the carnival grounds.
First stop- the Merry Go Round!
The girls went through the Fun House, and the Haunted House, and Adalyn rode the cars and motorcycles, while her sisters went on a "hot air balloon" ride and rode in these little aliens.
Their grandpa also let them each play some games, which meant.......
we came home with fish!
Adalyn named her fish Scotty, because that's the name of her class lizard at school. Megan chose Goldie, and Gretchen chose Nemo.

After the carnival, we came home and spent the rest of the afternoon outside.
The girls broke in the slip-n-slide for the first time this summer.
And enjoyed popsicles.
DJ smoked ribs, and after dinner and baths for the girls we sat outside around the fire.
Eventually, two of the girls fell asleep!
Sunday morning, DJ let me sleep in while everyone else was up and getting ready! We had breakfast, and opened Mother's day presents.

DJ's parents left early so they could get home at a decent hour, and we got ready for church.
I'm so blessed to the be the momma of these three little girls!

It's exhausting and I often feel overwhelmed, but they each teach me so much, and I love watching their personalities bloom.
After church we headed home for lunch, and I spent the rest of the afternoon cleaning and organizing! It doesn't sound like a fun way to spend Mother's Day, but I love being able to clean and freshen up the house. I changed out some decorations, moved some furniture, and I'm hoping that we can keep the house picked up this week, so we can start summer with a fresh slate feeling!

I hope your weekend was great too!

Friday Favorites: Hula Hoops & Dresses

Well friends, we did it! We made it through another week, and we are literally 6 school days from summer!!! I mean, that is a Favorite all in itself!
I'm linking up today with a few of my favorite bloggers for Friday Favorites!!! If you're new hear- welcome!!! (Psst- leave me a comment so I can check out your blog too!) And, if you've been hanging around for a while, then I'm so glad you're back today!
The weather this week has been nothing short of spectacular! Besides the rain we just had on Thursday, we've had warm days since the weekend and it's been marvelous! DJ has been helping me out in the evenings, by picking up Addy Pearl from school (and on Monday of this week, I was at work an hour later than usual, so I was exhausted and so grateful for his help.) When I pulled in to our neighborhood I saw these two out for a walk! It sure was a favorite moment of mine, seeing these two enjoying some time together!
We're counting down to our 2nd Disney World trip!!! We are taking a huge family trip this summer with DJ's side of the family, and Nana made us this countdown! The girls are pumped about our trip!
Pops & Grandma Dee came Wednesday night and are staying through the weekend and the girls are pumped! They brought each of the girls a hula hoop, so Wednesday night, we headed to the backyard and had a hula hoop competition and some fun!
Warm nights that are leading up to summer are my favorite!
I have been horrible about getting in my water intake lately! I think it's just the winding down of the school year and trying to do #allthethings. I finally remembered to bring my yeti back to school, and I loaded it up with water, and a few drops of Young Living's Slique Essence, which is formulated with essential oils to help keep your appetite at bay, and those sugar cravings down! Plus, it offers a little flavor to my water, so I'll drink more!
Thursday morning, we had a staff meeting, so the girls were in my speech room playing, and I came back to this sweet note written on my marker board!
Earlier this week, I blogged about my Top 10 Favorite Beauty Products from Young Living. Did you know that the average woman applies 300 toxins to her skin each day? 80 of those are applied before breakfast! I'm so thankful that I've been able to find safe, non-toxic products that assist in my skin care routine!

This June, I'm attending a convention, that has a little formal banquet night, so I've been on the hunt for a dress to wear, and I can not narrow down my favorite! Can you please help me? Here are my current top three choices:
This Chiffon A-line gown in grey is on the list. I love the draping and the neck. I think it will be flattering and still be comfortable.
This maxi dress  has the best colors! I absolutely love the pinks and blues, and that bow at the waist!
This Chiffon dress with a keyhole neckline made the top three because it gathers at the waist, so I thought it might be more figure flattering than my first choice. And I'm totally digging the grey, as an alternative to the black that I would typically wear.

While browsing online, I ended up purchasing these wedges. I have been needing a wedge for spring and summer for some time now, and I've fallen in love with these. I'm sure they'll be a favorite and a repeat throughout the summer!
And, how about this Bible verse for a favorite this week. Faith is the Confidence that We Hope for What Will Actually Happen..... my friends, God wants Big things for you. He wants to bless you. Will you have Faith that He will bless you if you step up and say "yes"? Will you have Faith that He will bless you if you are willing to work hard for your dreams? Dream big ladies.

That's it for today, my friends! Have I told you that you're my Favorites too? Thanks for taking some time to stop by today! Enjoy!

Weekend Shenanigans

This past weekend was a blast! The sun was out, and it was finally May weather #norain and we enjoyed ourselves!
We kicked off Cinco De May by heading to Chuy's for dinner!
We filled up on nachos, house-made tortillas, and all the fixings!
The girls were pumped with free push up pops at the end of our meal!
These girls passed some time by playing some little hand games.
After dinner, we headed to At Home to pick out some new cushions for the patio, and then we headed to Lowe's for some flower shopping.
Saturday morning, DJ was gone early for TU's graduation. He attended the sports reception, where two of his student workers were honored with athletic stoles.

While DJ was at graduation, the girls and I hit up the gym. We ran some errands, and found ourselves looking at the puppies up for adoption.
And then we headed to Target to finish up a few more errands before heading home for lunch.
After lunch, Adalyn and I ran a few more errands, while DJ mowed the grass. When we got home we planted flowers, and I worked on cleaning out the patio.
We purchased new cushions and some pillows for our patio, and I love the way it turned out!

Saturday night, the girls had a babysitter, while DJ and I went to an engagement party, of which I took zero pictures of the entire time.
Sunday morning, the girls wore their new Matilda Jane dresses to church, but they weren't up for cooperating for a picture! Ha. The best I could get.
After church, DJ took the little girls out for lunch, and Gretchen I grabbed lunch and ran some errands before her musical theater recital pictures.
This year, she's performing three songs and acting a portion of Peter Pan, so she's dressed as a "Lost Kid". All of the kids in her class had different costume pieces- some had pants, some had sashes, others had different shirts, different skirts....they were all so cute! I can't wait to see their performance on stage in a few weeks!
We were told to style their hair in either pigtails, braids, or a ponytail, so we opted for a messy look with a french braid, and a messy ponytail. I kind of love the way her hair turned out!
We came home, and the weather was gorgeous! The girls played outside, and I ended up reading in the backyard and dozing off for a bit! I woke up to Gretchen telling me that she was bored, so I let her bake brownies all by herself! She was pumped!!!
And then I joined the rest of the family in the front yard.
I got the sidewalk chalk paint out for the girls....
and our neighbors ended up coming over to play.

We decided to have them over for dinner, and we grilled burgers and had all the fixings! We stayed outside until well after 8, and the girls finally made it to bed by 9!

The weather made me long for summer! I'm excited we only have 11 more days of school!

Summer is made for slowing down. Enjoying each other. There's no hustle and bustle, and it's just what is needed at the moment!
