A Tues-Day In the Life

I love reading other bloggers, day in the life posts, so last Tuesday, I set out to snap pictures throughout my day so I could share with you. What I thought would be a normal day, didn't turn out that way. DJ was out of town, and while the day started out well, it went pretty down hill in the afternoon. Sigh.

Here's a day in the life.
I wake up around 6:15. I probably snoozed at least once, and let Gabby out. I had two kiddos in my bed sleeping, so after I let Gabby out, she joined me in the bathroom while I started getting dressed.

I shared about my makeup routine here. I put my make up on, and then it was time to wake up kiddos.
By the time I went to wake up the girls, Megan had gotten up, and Adalyn had gotten up from the floor and got in the bed.
Megan went to the bathroom and straight to the closet. So, I had to get her up from there. Sigh.

While the girls got up, fixed themselves breakfast, and got dressed, I finished getting ready and listened to The Bible Recap. I'm working my way through reading the entire Bible in 2023.
I managed to get the bed made.
And put on some comfy clothes for a cold, rainy day.
I had some extra time, so I loaded the dishwasher and started a load of laundry.
I took my supplements, which I'll be sharing about soon.... and Adalyn and I headed out the door.
I dropped her off at school and headed to work.

It was going to be a rainy commute. Ugh.

I started my work day at 8:30 and worked almost back to back. I played with Lincoln Logs, ball pop toys, cars, bubbles, and then had an evaluation I had to give.
My 12:30 patient cancelled, so I was able to eat lunch in my room while working on notes.
I finished around 2, headed home, and picked up Megan from school. She's smiling in the picture, but right before this she was in tears because she didn't feel good.
We got home, and opted to skip gymnastics. She just didn't feel well and she's there 20 hours a week anyway. I just knew that she needed to rest. Adalyn came home and they watched TV.
I went to my room and took about a 30 minute nap because I wasn't feeling well either. By the time the afternoon had rolled around, I was exhausted and felt really rundown myself.
Adalyn woke me up, I ate a bowl of chex mix, and for the next several hours we just sat and watched TV.
Gretchen was at tech rehearsal for her play, so I made us grilled turkey & cheese sandwiches on homemade sourdough bread, and cut up some oranges for dinner.

I rallied and did yoga even though I did not feel like it.

I picked up Gretchen, showered, and we all went to bed before 9.

Our evenings are a little more packed, but gosh, the rest was so needed. In fact, Megan didn't feel well on Wednesday, so I took the day off.

Life Lately

I was just going to wrap up our weekend, and then realized that it has been a sweet forever since I blogged, so changing plans and sharing a little life lately :)
The girls had Valentine's party's this year! Yay! I ordered Adalyn the sweetest little heart dress, and I can't remember where it's from, but it's big enough that she can wear next year too. She's so hard to buy for right now because 8's can be too short, but also too big in the waist, and 10's can be too long still. She's tall and skinny.

One day, Megan and Adalyn made their own Valentine boxes. They used Megan's left over Kiwi Krate boxes, painted and decorated them, and I didn't have to lift a finger, and it was magical.

Plus, Adalyn came home with a ton of candy, so she was happy.
Megan glued 4 boxes on top of each other so her box would be the biggest. It's her last year for class parties, and that makes me just a little sad.
I checked the mail one afternoon, and we had an envelope from the White House. I was super confused, and thought maybe it was a thank you for participating in the state park program when Megan was in the 4th grade. It turns out, that one day last year, she wrote a letter to Biden, looked up the White House address, and mailed it herself. They sent a letter back to her and an autographed photo.
DJ and I hosted 8 girls for our church's DNOW event, and while the big girls were out of the house, we took the little girls to Urban Air. It was cold and rainy, and we just wanted out of the house. It was crazy crowded, but the girls had a blast.

Two happy girls.
Two beat parents.

The DNOW weekend involved me getting girls checked in and luggage to our house Friday night. 8 girls from youth group spent the night along with 2 college leaders. We woke up Saturday morning and cooked them breakfast, and then they went off to church for Bible studies and activities. Saturday night we cooked them dinner, and they went back to church before coming home around 10. Over the night, two of the girls ended up with a tummy bug, which was disasterous. In all, we survived the weekend, but it was crazy.
That Sunday afternoon, Megan and I went off to a birthday party, and DJ and Adalyn went to the Texas baseball game.
She was able to run the bases after the game and she enjoyed some much wanted 1:1 time with her dad.
Adalyn started soccer this past week. She had her first practice last Monday, and afterwards we took her to P. Terry's for dinner. She realized she could order bacon on her burger and she was in heaven.
We also took Ballet Baby for a bike ride around the block.
And played her first 2 soccer games over the weekend.

After her soccer game Saturday, she had a friend spend the night. (Megan did too.) We spent a bit at the park, ordered pizza.... DJ and I worked on packing the camper for our upcoming Spring Break trip...
and took 4 girls (plus Gretchen) to church on Sunday morning.
Then it was back to the soccer fields for another game; a grocery store run, and a birthday party.

This week is set to be another fun one, and then we're off on Spring Break and I can not wait!

A Day In The Life

A few weeks ago, I captured a day in the life, but I haven't had a chance to blog about it!

So, sit back, grab your coffee, and read a little bit about our day.
My alarm is usually set for 6:15 am. Since I take my showers at night, I just have to get up, and get dressed and ready. Each day, I use Savvy Minerals make up, and I love that it's light- which is perfect for Summer.
I checked the weather- and rain was in the forecast. We had so much rain in Texas a few weeks ago, and I was so over it.
DJ had to be at work early that day, and we had a stowaway in our bed.
Since it was a little cooler, I threw on a sweatshirt, yoga pants, and was ready a little after 7.
I always have a big yeti full of ice water with me. I love adding these vitality drops to it.
After I fixed my cup of water, I took all of my supplements.

Sulferzyme is great for hair and nails. Cortistop for stress release, Ilumineyes for eye health, and Super B for energy.
I grabbed my work computer and a few post cards to work on during my breaks at work- spoiler alert, these post cards were never filled out and they're still in my purse for when I have a spare moment.
I try to count macros and some days are better than others- After I took my supplements, I fixed a quick lunch.
I love these chicken skewers from Costco! They're tasty and not dry.
I also added some dressing for dipping.
Once my lunch was fixed, I filled up the diffuser for the girls and kissed them goodbye.
I was in the car and ready for my hour commute by 7:25.
My day consists of lots of playing. Almost all of my speech kiddos prefer toy cars or balls.
I had teletherapy, and my cell phone doesn't work inside. Thankfully the rain hadn't moved through so I went outside and did my teletherapy session.
I had some cancellations and a break in my day, so I went to Hobby Lobby to buy Megan's birthday presents.
Then it was back to work, and time for lunch!
I came home to find Gretchen helping the girls get ready for gymnastics and our sitter helping out in the kitchen.
Quick hugs before heading right back out the door for gymnastics.
I have to drive and drop Adalyn off at her gym (she was finishing up the month of May there) and then I drive and drop off Megan at her new gym.
I had about 30 minutes in between dropping Megan off and driving back to get Adalyn, so I stopped for ice cream and enjoyed a minute of quiet time in the car.
I picked up Adalyn and then headed home. I needed to feed my sourdough starter, so I did that.
And then I made a big batch of pancakes for dinner because DJ wasn't planning on being home for dinner. He hates breakfast for dinner!
I made lots of extras for the girls to have for breakfast during the week.
And then I ran to pick up Megan. It was someone's birthday party and they brought cookies for everyone.
Once we got home, we worked on a little schoolwork.
And then I showered and washed my face.
I love using these oils after I wash my face. They're perfectly moisturizing.
By 9:30 everyone was in bed, and I was settling in to watch an episode of Outlander.

Whew! I wish I could say that our days have slowed down some now that it's Summer, but they haven't! I'm hoping this week will be a bit slower and easier than the last few have been!
