Friday Favorites....

Happy Friday friends!!! this was our last full week before Spring Break, and it was a doozy! I'm definitely counting down for our 4 day week next week, and looking forward to having a relaxing Spring Break!
Today, I'm linking up with Andrea, Erika, and Narci and bringing you a random list of Friday Favorites!
Last week, I started a squat challenge over on Facebook! I have lots of friends joining in and we're 9 days strong! I started a group message for us, and everyone is checking in once their squats are done for the day. It's just an easy little way to hold yourself accountable. I originally found the idea here

Get yourself a group of friends together and start the challenge for yourself!
My favorite teeth whitening combo is Thieves Aromabright and a drop of Orange essential oil. Seriously, this stuff is the best!
This year, I'm on a mission to actually eat breakfast, and to eat real food- #gome.

I'm obsessed with Applegate and this sausage.

DJ has more of a soda habit than I do. (I actually gave up all caffeine about two years ago), so we're working on kicking his habit. We were introduced to a Zyng bomb a few weeks ago, and now we're both obsessed with it. It's just a can of zyng, ningxia red, and a shot of ningxia nitro. So good. It's like a fruity little drink :)

I had my hair cut a few weeks ago, and while long hair is my favorite, I was ready for a change. (Also, please note this is 4 day dirty hair, that had been in a ponytail all day. Also, the lighting made hair super light, and I don't color my hair.)
I'm loving my inverted bob.
This little girl shines so bright, and we just love her. Monday morning she was all ready for school, and then tried pouring herself a glass of chocolate milk and had to change out of her outfit. Definitely not a favorite moment of the week, since it made us late for school.
Watching Megan and Adalyn do their thing in gymnastics is one of my favorite things. Both girls have made huge improvements this year.

Basketball season came to a close, and we had a celebration earlier this week. There was a magician and DJ was even one of his assistants.

The girls wrapped up the evening by getting trophies, and even Adalyn got in on the action, even though she didn't play this year.

Our night ended at Firehouse Subs for a super late dinner.

This Quinoa is my favorite. It pairs fabulous with taco meat and sweet potatoes. Megan will even eat it, so it's a total win!

Tuesday night was cray. DJ had football practice, and I was trying to do #allthethings. Megan not only gave Adalyn a bath, but she picked out matching pj's for them, brushed and fixed her hair, complete with matching clippies. It was just the sweetest moment between sisters.

And, does anyone want to chat about this?! In the end I'm happy for Arie and Lauren, but she's either a total snooze fest or she was edited horribly for the show. Arie never should have proposed to Bekah, but I think she'll make a great bachelorette and be tons of fun to watch!

So, that's it for our Friday Favorites today!

Weekend Wrap Up: Its Feeling Like Spring

Whew! We had a busy weekend!
Friday was a little crazy at work- we had award assemblies and both of the big girls were receiving two awards and their assemblies were at different times! Gretchen's was in the morning, and she received the Principal's Honor Roll for making straight A's, and an award for having great expectations.
We're so proud of this girl!

During my recess duty, I found a little Cat in the Hat :)
And we ended the day with Megan's award assembly.
She received an award for great expectations, and the library award! We're so proud of her!

DJ picked up Adalyn after school, which meant I was able to head straight home!
But, when we were walking to the car, we found snail shells on the sidewalk, and ended up spending time finding more! We put them in a plastic bag and brought them home not knowing if they were alive or dead. The verdict now, is that they're dead, but we still had fun finding the shells, and looking at them.
Megan got changed for gymnastics, and did her best Kennedy impression.

She's a total look alike.

She's been learning about presidents in school :)
After her Kennedy impression, we headed to gymnastics. She's wanting to do competitive gymnastics, so we went to try out a class.
Saturday morning, we were at her last basketball game of the season. We've had so much fun cheering her on!
She didn't score, but man, she comes close!
Meanwhile, Gretchen and Connor were enjoying their time together.
After the game, Megan's team went out for pizza.

I love these little girls and their friendship.
Later that afternoon, we cheered Gretchen on in her last game!
She scored a basket and played some impressive defense.
The weather was gorgeous when we got home, so we spent the next few hours playing outside. Megan asked if she could ride her bicycle without training wheels, so DJ took them off, and she did it!!! She'll still need some more practice before they come off for good, but she'll be a pro in no time!
Meanwhile, Gretchen was trying to make something out of the training wheels.
And Adalyn was riding the scooter.
Gretchen found a cricket in our neighbors driveway and insisted that we keep it as a pet.
We let the girls take a picture, put it in a bowl, and then they put their pet cricket on the back porch. It was gone by Sunday :)
Sunday morning we said good bye to my parents. They had spent the weekend with us, and we loved having them here.
We headed to church while DJ headed to football for the first practice of the spring season.
Our church has a ton of Spring Break mission trips, and each of the girls came home with a photo of someone that would be going on a trip, with specific prayer requests. They all worked together and made a poster, and then hung it upstairs so they could remember to pray for their people.
We ended the day with a family dinner, putting away laundry, and fixing lunches.
And of course, books and bedtime.

Gretchen and I stayed up and watched the Oscars, and she let me know that one day, she'd be there winning one. And, I totally hope she is!

Weekend Wrap Up: Wonder & Bison

We had a super busy-long weekend! But, we filled it with lots of fun!
Thursday night, DJ and I headed to the Blake Shelton concert. It was his opening night of his tour, and it was fabulous! All of the artists were amazing, and we knew way more songs than we thought we would!

We even made it on the "big screen" during the artists breaks.
#famous

(Okay, not really)
I was exhausted on Friday, but the girls and I needed to run to Target after school. I picked up some fun paper straws.
And the girls played hockey for a bit.
After Target, we met DJ at Chili's and crushed dessert.
And then we came home to watch Wonder! We read the book with the girls over Christmas break, and we haven't been able to squeeze in a time to see the movie, but when we were at Target, Friday night, we realized that it's already out on DVD

We really enjoyed the movie, but we loved the book more :)
Sunday morning, the girls were snuggled on the sofa watching cartoons, and I headed to spin class.
After spin, I met DJ and the girls at Megan's basketball game.
Then, the little girls and I ran some errands. And it was gorgeous outside!

We finished our errands, with a lunch date at Tropical Smoothie.
And then headed to Gretchen's basketball game. She played some heck of a defense!
Saturday night, DJ and I headed to a reception, for a fellow coach that had recently gotten married. We had fun celebrating with our football family!
And then we came home, and as I was checking on all of the girls, I found Adalyn passed out in her bed! Apparently she talked the babysitter in to letting her keep her clothes on rather than changing in to her pjs!
We were going to head to church Sunday morning, when DJ walked in (from a recruiting event that was early!) and suggested we head out on a trip. So, we googled some locations, and ended up heading toward Pawhuska.
Which, just so happens to be where the Pioneer Woman, has her mercantile and restaurant. Unfortunately, both were closed on Sunday, and we settled for pizza at Simple Simons.

But, we did drive by the mercantile!
I have plans on heading back here this spring!
And, then we drove a little further north to the Tallgrass Prairie Reserve to see Bison!
We drove about 15 miles and would randomly spot a heard of Bison.
And just in case, you thought you could get out of the car, there were signs everywhere reminding you that bison are dangerous!
But, there was a little area, we could get out, right before we drove in further in to the reserve.

And, it was cold, y'all! And super windy! But, then again, it's almost always windy in Oklahoma.
As we drove further we saw tons of bison.
We made it to the nature center, and saw four deer grazing.
The workers at the nature center were wonderful! They talked to us and the girls about the reserve, and educated us on bones, and bugs, and all that fun stuff.

By the nature center was the ranch house, and we peeked in to some windows. And, fun fact- the land was owned by the Chapman family, whose TU football stadium is also named after.
On our way out, we had bison crossing the road. So, we had to stop, which was way cool.
This was probably my favorite photo that I took that day.

If you're ever in Pawhuska, I'd recommend the drive to see the bison.

We were in awe over the vast landscape and animals. It's untouched land, and definitely not something that you see often. We were telling the girls that this was land that Native Americans lived on, that settlers crossed as they were heading west. It was such a humbling moment to think of those so long ago.
