The girls and I had a great week last week. We filled our days with some adventures, cuddles, and downtime and made the best of our last few weeks here in Oklahoma.
Last Monday, Megan had her last private gymnastics lesson. Of course, Addy Pearl went too and insisted on wearing her leotard as well, though she swears she wants to take ballet when we get moved to Texas.
She fixed herself an afternoon snack of peanuts and a fruit strip, and we're enjoying her hair being the shorter length. I mean, it's so much easier to take care of.
Monday night, we rode bikes to a park and played for a while. The weather was a bit cooler, and it was nice to get out of the house for a bit.
They were swinging so high!
Tuesday morning, it was back to homeschool adventures. Megan worked on adding and subtracting, and Gretchen worked on two digit multiplication.
Adalyn worked on counting and matching numbers and her big sisters helped her a bit while I worked on laundry.
Our realtor called and asked if we could have a house showing at 2, so we scrambled to finish homeschool and get the house ready for a showing. Unfortunately, the showing pushed back to 6, which was a total waste of our rushed efforts to pick up the house.
I had wanted to take the girls to a new park and had planned to do it that afternoon anyway, so we made a long afternoon out of it.
The girls loved the new Events Park in Broken Arrow, and had the best time climbing all the structures.
I mean, I'd be totally nervous for a toddler to be there, even though there is a little toddler area, but it was perfect for the girls.
It started to rain, so we made our way to the nature park, which was close by. Surprisingly, we've never been, so we just checked it off our Oklahoma Bucket List.
The girls learned a bit about honey bees.
And they learned how to count rings on a tree to tell it's age, and what it meant if some rings on the tree were bigger than others.
We totally digged our science lesson. I mean, what's better than a hands on lesson that momma didn't have to prepare?
Megan found a pinecone that had been chewed by a squirrel and compared it to a newer pinecone.
We walked over to the swinging bridge, because by this time it had stopped raining, and contemplated going on the trail, but honestly, I'm not much of an outdoorsy girl and the chance of running in to a snake didn't sound like fun.
So, we went back over to the Events Park.
Later that evening, we went to dinner, because our house showing was right at dinner time, and saw a rainbow. The girls always love finding rainbows in the sky.
And Megan found a painted rock! Does your town do these??? In Tulsa, there's a Facebook group for 918 Rocks, and anyone can paint rocks and hide them around town. Then, when you find a rock, you can either keep it or rehide it, but they ask that you share it to their Facebook group.
We shared it and just happen to know the lady that painted this one!
When we got home, Gretchen put on an awards show for her sisters. They were the stars, and she was the emcee.
They even walked up the stairs to the red carpet, and Addy kept shaking her hips side to side which was hilarious!
See the "red carpet?" It's actually Gretchen's sleeping bag! Ha!
Megan ended up winning the grand prize!
A little charm with beads on it.
Wednesday morning we made lavender play doh as our only homeschool lesson for the day.
The girls followed the directions, measured, and learned about mixing colors.
And then they played with it which ended up being a great fine motor activity for Adalyn. See the little play doh scissors?
We were also babysitting that day, so Megan and I got in some snuggles that afternoon.
Then on Thursday morning, we went to see my friends baby and the girls just loved him so much.
I mean, nothing is better than baby snuggles......
except cookie batter!
We spent the afternoon making Monster Cookies to take with us to Austin for DJ's assistants and his student workers.
We really enjoyed our together time last week, even though we've had a lot of it lately!
