My Current Make Up Routine: The Good & The Bad

I've changed up my make up routine over the last several months, and I'm trying to play around with a few different brands. I've used Young Living's Savvy Minerals since it came out, and I've loved it. But, since the Fall when I found out they were discontinuing the line, I started grabbing a few of my old go-to brands, and now I'm slowly working back toward cleaner brands and just figuring out what works for me.
I love make up, but I tend to keep my look really simple and easy. I also really want to use as many clean brands as possible, but I also want to give myself some grace because sometimes it is easier to run to the store than it is to wait patiently for an order.

I received Charlotte Tilbury's moisturizer for Christmas and I really love it. It's more than I'd spend on msyelf so I had never given it a try, but I could immediately tell a difference under my eyes within a few days of using it. I alternate between it, and the Sandalwood moisturizer from Young Living.
Last Fall I started hearing a lot about Toups & Co and I'm really impressed with how clean this brand is. I ordered their sample pack of foundation to find my shade. I wear almond. The medium pack came with 4-5 color options that I could try. I went online, and ordered the larger size foundation that I color matched to. Pro- it's definitely a clean brand and super similar to Savvy Minerals. Con- the size is only 1 ounce, so I'm not sure how fast I'll go through a bottle. I do tend to wear foundation daily. Their shipping was super fast though, and they do have a rewards program.

I plan on slowly tossing out what I currently have and trying more products from Toups & Co

I'm currently using Tarte pressed powder in the Medium shade.
I'm obsessed with Savvy Minerals dark multi-tasker. Honestly, this is a product that I'm going to be really sad when I can't get it anymore. (I need to stock up because this small container does last about a year for me.) I use it to fill in my eye brows.
I went back to my old favorite- Nars orgasm blush

When this is gone, I will try some Toups & Co blush though, but I do love this color.
I ordered Toups & Co neutral eye shadow to try out, and I do like it! It just comes as a refill and not in a real container. I plan on buying their larger eye shadow compact but wanted to start with a small one to see what I thought before splurging on a bigger size and more colors.
I use Tarte's bronzer. I actually use this on my eyelids, and then cheeks, and anywhere else I need to contour.

Honestly, I regret buying it. As soon as I brought it home, I could smell that it has fragrance in it. It was one of those products I grabbed because I wa sout of my Savvy Minerals bronzer and just needed something quick.

It's not a horrible product, but since I really want clean ingredients- I don't prefer it. If you don't care about that, then it's a really great product- ha!
The Tula eye balm is a product I use when I need a little under eye lift. I don't use this daily. I'll use it when I need to refresh my make up for a night out. I kind of have a love/hate relationship with this too. If I use it daily, then I notice that my skin turns a little red, but it also works and gives the illumination of a lift.
I'm using Nars concealer. I don't hate it- it just doesn't have clean ingredients. I'll be making a switch over to Toups & Co as soon as this bottle runs out!
Okay, this mascara is amazing and it's super cheap. I've used "clean" mascara's for years and just get frustrated with them. I ordered this on a whim, it's not clean, and I don't even care- it works so well! I use it with my heated eye lash curler and love it!

Okay, I hope that was helpful! I actually love all of the products! I just don't love all of the ingredients! I feel like this post was half helpful and half not, but it's something I wanted to share and I want to be honest with you guys, as I slowly switch back over to cleaner brands, I'll share more!

Outfit Round Up

Confession. I don't have a tall mirror in our home. It's on my list of things I want, but I'm not entire sure where I would even put one! So, when I need to see what my outfit looks like, I either stand on the end of our bed, or I take a selfie. These selfies are now forming this little post called "Outfit Round Up" and may serve as to why I am not a fashion blogger.

Also, let's note. I basically wear leggings every single day. When you're constantly on the floor playing with kids, putting your hands in their mouth, or wiping snot; putting on jeans is zero fun.
Outfit 1

I love this camo sweatshirt (similar) It's cozy and just easy to throw on with leggings.
I love off the shoulder tops. It just makes me feel a little more girly. I picked this one up from Amazon. The waffle weave texture is soft on this, and it's longer in length, so it's perfect for leggings, but would also be cute with jeans, or denim shorts as we transition in to warmer weather.
I'm a big fan of sweatshirts. I grabbed this one from Target a few years ago. But, can we talk about these earrings? They're a favorite of mine right now! I've worn earrings from this brand for years, because they're lightweight and always so cute.
A simple argyle sweater and leggings were perfect for a cozy afternoon in.
This waffle weave hoodie is cozy; purchased last year from Abecrcombie
But these shoes are the best. They're great if you want something a little more than an athletic shoe, but still want a tennis shoe.
DJ laughs when I wear this wrap. It's old. It has holes all in it. I love it, and I will never get rid of it. Just bury me in this okay.
Same sweater, with jeans, but these tennis shoes
I bought this sweater last year, and didn't have many chances to wear it. Our weather was cold and then hot all of February, with constant temperature changes. It was perfect with leggings, and the same shoes for a cozy day at work!
I picked up this top the other day at Kohl's, and I'm obsessed with it. I've worn it twice already, and I know this is a top I'll wear weekly! It's longer and has thumb holes, so you know it's fantastic!

My yoga pants, that I wear daily are here

A Whole Lot of Random

Happy Thanksgiving week! We are pumped to have a short week and then to get away for a girls weekend with family! It's going to be a good one!

Here's a whole lot of random for you today!
I came home from work and needed a minute. Adalyn crawled in the bed, snuggled up close, and fell asleep. I'll take these precious moments when I can.
School work and stinky faces!
Megan decided to dress as an 80's girl last Sunday and headed out to play with friends!
Adalyn on the other hand, preferred her dress and booties.
She came over to me and said "take my picture like this". Ha! Ok!
This is how I always want to remember her- messy face, missing teeth! I was at work and she texted me that she lost another tooth!
Loft has been having some awesome sales, and I ordered two new tops. I was super happy with how fast they shipped too!

I grabbed this black top; it's hard to see, but the sleeves are sheer, and it's a perfect dress up or dress down top.
And this brown top for Longhorn events.

I recently grabbed the girls a pair of blue light blocker glasses for when they're doing school work. Both Megan and Gretchen use the computer for their homeschool, so protecting their eyes is a must! You can go here and get 20% off your order. They're a perfect stocking stuffer!
I'm obsessed with these new oils from Young Living! I diffused the oils together (3 drops each) in all of our downstairs diffuser and my house smelled so wonderful! I think I'm going to be making room sprays for Christmas gifts with these!
DJ and I snuck away for a quick date night since he came home early one night!
I've had some recent moments of feeling like we aren't getting enough done in our homeschool days. We've just had busy weeks and weekends so we're a bit behind or we've had to leave off Bible on some days.

Thankfully, last Friday was a great homeschool day and we got lots done!

Gretchen and Megan worked on rock and mineral identification together.
Megan and Adalyn went on a little noun scavenger hunt.

And Adalyn and I got through lots of math with zero complaints from her!
Megan has been working her way through a multiplication workbook and on Thursday, she finished the very last page! When she left school last year they were just starting to learn multiplication facts, so we really wanted to hit them hard at the beginning of this year. She's come so far!
The girls found a caterpillar in the street on Thursday and brought it up to our flower bed. It eventually made it's way into one of our plants!
And then made a chrysalis! We're excited to watch it over the next few days and hoping that we make it back from our Thanksgiving trip to see it turn into a butterfly!

Favorites....

Happy Monday! After a much needed and relaxing Sunday, we're ready to conquer the week ahead. I have some fun Columbus Day activities planned for our Homeschool week... a trip to the pumpkin patch in the works, and I think DJ will be home most of Saturday- so it's going to be a good week!

I'm sharing a few recent favorites for y'all today, so settle in.
Cool weather has been her favorite. She was so cold one day that she dug out her winter  coat and wore it all day. It's hot today, but the weather is suppose to cool off this week and we are ready for it!

This snack mix from Costco is our favorite. We've already gone through several bags of it, because we are all obsessed.
A little car selfie with my favorite ;)
Gretchen has been asking to cook dinner once a week, so eventually we will settle in to that routine... she learned to make sloppy joes a few weeks ago, so when I'm a little more motivated in the dinner department, I plan on letting her takeover.
Gretchen started dance lessons a few weeks ago, and she's loving it! She took dance when she was little and then stopped for theater classes. She was going to take dance as an elective this school year, but since we pulled her out of school, we signed her up for a class.
I've been using ABC Bible verse cards for our homeschool and the girls are loving it. I found these on Etsy several years ago, and if you search for them, you'll find a few newer options.
Speaking of Bible, we've been using the Bible app for little studies each day, and having Bible class outside has been a favorite. The girls love practicing their memory verse, listening to a story, writing in their Bible journal, and then dancing around to some music. It's one of Megan's favorites, and if we don't do Bible first thing, she'll ask for it to make sure we get it in.
I recently ordered this top from Abercrombie and I'm obsessed with how soft it is. It's great with leggings, but will look darling with jeans and booties. It also comes in solid colors, but ya know- leopard is a neutral!
Adalyn's favorite subject in homeschool is math; it comes much easier to her than reading, and it's never a battle to get her to do it. Now..... reading and writing on the other hand- definitely not a favorite.
Our neighborhood park finally opened up, even though they're refusing to put up the swings. Sigh. We finished school work early one day and rode our bikes to the park and the girls had a blast playing.
I also ordered this workout top recently. It's super cute and doesn't really feel/look like a workout tank. It's going to be on repeat, and comes in other colors too.
Adalyn picked out a book to read one evening, and read a few pages each night. Like I said, she doesn't like reading, so I was excited when she wanted to read this! I have a collection of little books from my childhood, and this one was one of my favorites!
Young Living released a new kid oil in September, and we ordered it ;) It came with this super fun hero cape, so of course, Adalyn had to wear it and run around the yard!
She also asked to bake cookies, so we baked chocolate chip cookie sandwiches for ourselves and sent a few to DJ's students.
We spent an afternoon outside painting pumpkins.

And spent another weekend with a home football game.
Gretchen spent the afternoon with a friend, so I just had these cuties with me at the game.
Our pre-game pictures look a lot different this year!
Addy hopped up on the kitchen table and said... "this would be a cute picture" So, I took her picture, and she was right. It is cute.
