Easter Pics!

I think I'll only have one more post after this about Easter! Sunday morning we got G ready first and sent her to Sunday School with my parents. They were having an egg hunt that morning, and we thought it would be fun for her! Here's G in her Easter dress with her basket.
And, another one :) You can see the necklace that she got the Friday before from Charming Charlie's. She just had to wear it!

I'm glad we sent her early, it gave MC a chance to take a nap and DJ and I time to get ready without herding both kids!
Here's MC and I before going to church.
And, MC with DJ.

After church, we took a few pictures before changing clothes & heading to my aunt's house.
It is so hard to get a good picture with everyone looking at the camera and smiling!
We also tried to get one of just the girls, but MC was exhausted and just not having it! Poor G tried so hard to get MC to cooperate!
And, here's another silly one of G. DJ snapped this, because she was at least smiling!
My mom wanted a picture of the grand-girls, and this is the best that we can do!

The Easter Bunny!

Saturday evening was spent dyeing Easter eggs and getting ready for the bunny to come! Easter is starting to become one of my favorite holidays, because it's simple, and we get to celebrate Jesus' birth & resurrection. G learned so much about the Easter story at school this year, and it was so special to see her appreciate the true meaning of Easter.

We do however, celebrate the other aspects of Easter.

I didn't take many play clothes to Gee's house, so G had to dye eggs without her shirt on. I remember as a kid being dressed in my Sunday best, with remaining egg dye on my hands! So, we quickly did baths as soon as the egg dyeing was over!
Here's G waiting to dye eggs.
Gee helped her.

Afterwards, we took pictures of the girls with their eggs. My grandma gave G some goggles that she just had to wear!
After baths, the eggs had dried, so G was able to decorate them with stickers.
Then, we gave each girl 6 eggs, and placed them in their baskets, and put the baskets on Gee's dining room table for the bunny to fill.
MC was more fascinated with the eggs inside the basket. As soon as this picture was taken, MC had picked up an egg and dropped it right on to the table!

G went right to sleep, and we decided we should have holidays every day so she would go to bed that well every night!
The bunny filled G's basket with a fishing pole, bobbers, hooks, an umbrella, and a princess kite. She also got some peeps and a chocolate bunny.

MC received two books, a diaper cover, a diaper, and a wet bag. She had puffs hidden in her plastic eggs.

G woke up Easter morning and was super excited to see what the bunny had brought!
All MC cared about was getting something in her mouth.
G loved her umbrella!
And MC loved the hidden puffs.
G also wanted to practice with her fishing pole for a bit, so DJ helped her.
Easter morning was so fun, and thankfully we weren't too rushed! We got ready for church after playing with the girls' gifts and eating a yummy breakfast!

Petting Zoo?

After the presents were opened, the cupcakes devoured, and the guests had gone, grandpa told us he had another surprise!

So, we took off on a walk across their land to the "doghouse." (My stepdad's office.)
And, inside, he had baby chicks!!!
I for one am super excited about the chicks and the possibility of very fresh eggs while we are out their house, and I plan on bringing fresh eggs back home with us!

My stepdad trains dogs for duck hunting, and I'm guessing this duck didn't realize that when she layed her eggs close to the dogs!
I know that the girls & I will miss the babies hatching, and hopefully my step-dad won't keep them for hunting!
G had to take a moment to sit on the dog training stand before we headed back to the house.
Whoops! My brother dumped her out of the wagon, because she wasn't being still!

And, I had to snap these pictures of sweet baby A walking!
And one of her and her momma!
I made my mom take this one of myself & MC, I feel like we never get a picture of just us!
I purchased the sling from Seven Slings, and I googled a promo code, and only paid shipping (which was still around $14.00), but this sling has served us well. MC loves sitting in her pouch, and now she's big enough to go on my side, or she can still sit forward facing. I highly recommend this.

It was such a fun Saturday with the birthday party and discovering the baby chicks & seeing the duck! I promise i'll eventually get all of these Easter weekend pictures posted soon!

A's First Birthday

About a year ago, I received a phone call from my mom that my SIL developed pre-eclampsia and they were likely going to have a baby. 6 weeks early. I was terrified for my brother & his wife, and I was even a bit jealous that they were going to meet their baby. You see, I was also pregnant with MC, and the girls were due 2 weeks apart. My niece A was born weighing in at a whopping 3 lbs. And stayed in the NICU for an entire month. She came home wearing a baby doll dress from Strausburg.

An entire year has passed and A is developing very well, and this weekend we were able to celebrate her 1st birthday!

My SIL chose a shabby-chic theme, and we had the party at my mom's house. I was so excited that I was able to help her decorate, although I can't take credit for picking out any of the decorations. She did such a fabulous job all on her own, and I had to post because it came together beautifully!
I did decorate my mom's mantle. We used two tissue paper poms on each side, and hung hot pink and lime green tulle draping across. We placed a few pictures of A, and peach scented candles, and filled mason jars with flowers.
My SIL made these party hats for guests to fill with candy as they were leaving.
The dining room was set up as the desert table. My mom baked chocolate cupcakes with pink buttercream icing, white cupcakes with chocolate icing, and carrot cupcakes with homemade buttercream icing.

My SIL purchased a teal floral fabric, and we used hat boxes, bird houses, candles, flowers, and lanterns to decorate. I love how she chose mis-matched plates and napkins!

She also made a delicious pineapple punch!
Here's a close up of the dining room table decor.
She also used mis-matched cupcake liners, and all the cupcakes had pearl sprinkles.
The cupcakes were placed on glass trays, and some of them had little flags.
My SIL served pinwheels, homemade guacamole, and a yummy corn & black bean salsa!
She did purchase a small cupcake for A's smash cake.
Miss A wasn't too crazy about getting messy! She wanted her cake, but preferred for someone to feed it to her!

Happy 1st Birthday A!!!! We love you so much and we're so glad that you are here and healthy!

Build-a-Bear & the Bunny

After doing a bit of shopping Friday morning, we went to the mall so the girls could have their picture made with the Easter bunny. I debated over getting one made, but felt like I'd be a bad mommy, since I have one of G when she was a baby, and thought I needed one of MC's first Easter. G loved the Easter bunny! She walked right up and sat beside him, MC however, screamed. As was expected. After I rescued MC, G looked at the bunny and said, "um, I want a Barbie house." The bunny just gave her a thumbs up!

We also went with my sister-in-law to build-a-bear so she could make A's first teddy bear.
G was a big helper and gave him a bath.
Here's my cutie pie niece A with her very first teddy bear!

After the mall, we were able to meet with my very good friend, Laura and let G play on the playground. It was so good to catch up with her. I'm so thankful to have such a good friend, and no matter how long we go without talking, we pick up just where we left off.

Easter Weekend Wrap-Up 1

Wednesday night, DJ took G to dance class, so I could pack our clothes and clean the house. The girls and I were leaving on Thursday after G's class Easter egg hunt for Arkansas. MC was a bit fussy Wednesday night (she prefers to be held) so I put her in the exersaucer. I came in the room and found her like this: I guess all the cleaning & packing had worn her out!

We got to my mom's house Thursday evening and on Friday we headed out to Little Rock for some shopping.
I had to get a picture of the girls together before we left. I love how MC is looking at G in this picture! Both of their outfits were purchased from Rhea Lana's consignment sale, and I found MC's brand new there!

My niece had her 1 year pictures taken so the girls and I hung out while they were doing that. G found a fountain and was determined to make a few wishes!
I'm not sure what she wished for, she wouldn't tell me because she knows her wishes won't come true if she shares them!
MC just hung out in her stroller while we enjoyed the sunshine!

While we were waiting, we went into Charming Charlie's and picked out jewelry for my Easter dress. G was really good, and really wanted some jewelry, so I bought her a pink butterfly necklace.
She was trying to show it off in the picture above!

Sneak Peek & New Bows

I had a chance to run to my favorite store today, Hobby Lobby! I had to pick up supplies for MC's first birthday (can't believe that's in two months!) And I picked up a few new hair bow supplies!

This is just a sneak peek- there's lots of items in the pic below, and there going to be incorporated in so many ways- you'll just have to stay tuned to find out! But, i'll be revealing one of the items Tuesday night on my Facebook page!
Here's an up-close of this yellow & grey rolled flowers. I'm debating putting them on a clip or a headband, but I love the oh-so-popular color combo!
I purchased a cupcake ribbon last week, and made a few bows with it over the weekend. This one (below) is already sold to a little girl in G's dance class!
I was also asked to donate a few hair bows to a local elementary schools fundraiser this month! I happily donated two hair bows in their school colors!
And, here's another cupcake bow- I love the spring colors! It will be perfect for any birthday this summer!
After taking time off, i'm diving head first back into my business, and I'm so excited for all the things I have in store! I'm really hoping to continue to grow and i'm even considering opening an Etsy shop! My goal is to open one by the end of summer!

I'm also participating in Izzy B's designs April giveaway! You can enter to win tons of fabulous items, as well as a fabric tutu skirt from yours truly!

Lastly, I'm nearing 2,000 'likes' on my Facebook page, and i'm in the works of organizing a giveaway! If you're a business that would like to donate, you can email me at elainewelte@gmail.com

As always, thanks for your continued love and support!

Where's G?

I check on the girls every night before bed. Saturday evening, I went to G's room to check on her, and she wasn't in her bed. That's not unusual for her, because after we tuck her in, she often gets back up and plays with her toys. I checked her closet (she has fallen asleep in there several times) and she wasn't in her closet.

I went to get DJ and told him that G wasn't in her bed, and we began searching her room. There are only so many places that she could hide in her room, and we checked under the bed, behind her dollhouse and she wasn't in any of those spots. I checked the bench in the hallway and she wasn't there either. By this point we were both laughing, because we had no idea where she could be, and I was trying not to worry. (We have an alarm system and it hadn't gone off, so she had to be in the house). I was about to check in MCs room, when I noticed the laundry room door opened a bit too far.
And there she was, sound asleep.
We had to get the camera before waking her up to move her back to her bed. She was mighty confused as to why we were waking her and tried laying back down!

When DJ picked her up, he noticed her shorts were wet, so we changed her, and our best guess was that she got up to go potty and got confused. So, she went on our laundry room floor! Our only other guess, is that she was sleep walking. DJ's brother slept walked when he was little, so it could very well run in the family!
