Ready-to-Ship

During the Super Bowl last week, I was able to work on a few new products! I've been so busy this week, that I haven't had time to blog about them, but they are all listed on my Facebook page.

I am totally in love with this lavendar nagorie feather hair piece. I think it would make a beautiful photo prop for a newborn baby. Swoon.
This next piece is cowgirl chique. I love, the shimmering fabric and the pearl adds such a classic touch.
I think this one will be added to our own collection! I'm going to attach it to an elastic headband and let MC wear it on Valentine's day. I started out just making the stripe bow with the heart, and then I added the pink and white chevron scalloped edge fabric, and the sequins. Love.
I need to take some time to get a better picture of the following hair piece. I had to screen shot it from my instagram account. Follow me on Instagram (@ewelte) and you'll get a sneak peek of many of these pieces before they're even added to Facebook!

This piece is made with a turquoise ostrich puff and has lime green accents. It just makes me think of spring time and summer! I still think this could be a great photo prop paired with a lime green romper, which I can wholesale order for you!
I recently started making bow ties. The first one I made was for Bri Woods Chaney Photography and I have since made three more!

This pink and white chevron bow tie was actually made for a puppy! #spoiledpets The bow tie has an elastic loop which will slide onto her collar and is 100% hand sewn, so it can be easily washed.
This is the other bow tie I made, which is the exact same as the photo prop I made for Bri, and I've had two more orders for the exact same tie! I can't wait to make more of these!
I also had a custom request for a dinsoaur burpie, I just love it! (There's a matching bib as well, it's just not pictured.)
I ordered this butterfly fabric on Etsy while I was searching for other fabrics. I just thought it was so sweet. I plain on adding a bib and applique shirt to the set as well.
I've also been working on bibs more. I just have really felt the need to sew and use my machine, and i'm just loving it! I have looked forward to going home every day to sew, but unfortunately, life has been to busy and I have been to exhausted to get up to my sewing space this week. Which just left me longing for the weekend! DJ is also going out of town soon, and I'm really hoping I can have some guilt free sewing while he's away.

I think this bib is perfect for a boy or a girl in it's soft lime green color.
Make sure you're a fan of my facebook page! I've started offering daily specials!

Rice Krispy Paintbrushes~ Tutorial

I have been meaning to get around to writing this post for the past two weeks, so here it is..... finally!!!

We made "paintbrushes" as party favors for G's 5th birthday

I originally found the idea on Pinterest, and I knew these would be a great touch and fun for G and I make together.

I purchased pre-made Rice Krispy treats from the grocery store. I'm sure you could make your own, but I was trying to be as stress-free as possible.
I found these wooden sticks from Hobby Lobby for around $4.00 and used a 40% off coupon. These are very similar to the little wooden spoons for ice cream.
G helped to unwrap all of the treats and we stacked them up.
Then, we pushed the sticks about half way into the bottom.

The treats were room temperature, and after inserting the sticks, we had to re-shape them just a bit.
I tried making these with almond bark and food coloring, but it just did not work. So, I headed to Hobby Lobby, and bought colored candy wafers. Note to self- you cannot return these to Hobby Lobby, so if you buy extra, you're stuck with them.
I bought green and purple, and let G chose which color she wanted. Purple is her favorite, so i'm stuck with a bag of green.

Anyway, melt your chocolate in the microwave. Stir every 30 seconds; it only took about a minute and a half to melt the entire bag.

Dip the top half into your chocolate.
Spoon chocolate on all four sides, but don't cover the entire treat.
Lay on wax paper to dry. I know, I layed these on tin foil, but I was out of wax paper and didn't know it until we were getting started.
Once the chocolate was dry, I placed these in cellophane bags and tied with ribbon.
These were such a fun party favor for a rainbow-paint party!

More Birthday Celebrations with Gee

My  mom was able to sneak away from her husband and mother on Saturday, in order to come up for a girls' day and celebrate G's birthday (a week late.) If you don't know, my grandmother had surgery on teh 25th, making it impossible for my mom to come to G's party, and then my stepdad got sick.

So, we were very excited for Gee to come up for a visit! We hadn't seen her since the first of January! My sister-in-law, Tiffany, and her daughter Amelia, came up as well!

First things first: Present time!
Above: G opening her present from Aunt Tiffany, Uncle Matthew, and Amelia. They gave her Barbie clothes. Which, she promptly dressed her Barbie in scuba gear on Sunday afternoon.
My parents bought her this Disney Princess stamp/art set. G was in heaven. I mean, look at that smile on her face!
MC wanted to get in on the action too!

After lunch, we drove over to Jenks to the River City Trading Post. It's a flea market of sorts, where you can find anything from light fixtures, antiques, hair bows, to furniture. You never know what you'll find in the store, and I love that it's such a treasure hunt!

Afterwards, we went to Belk's to look for MC's "big girl bedding" and came up with two possibilities.

We promised G she could have Cherry Berry ice cream, but she decided on Marble Slab instead! DJ and I may have converted her over! (We prefer Marble Slab over Cherry Berry any day!)
G decided to get a white chocolate dipped waffle cone that had sprinkles, and she chose Black Cherry ice cream because it was pink and had cherries mixed in.
MC had vanilla ice cream with sprinkles. This was the first time I bought her her own ice cream, because quite frankly, this pregnant lady didn't want to share!

This was Amelia's first time eating ice cream by herself. I'm pretty sure she is officially deprived and her aunt will have to make up for this by buying her tons of ice cream from now on.

After ice cream, we went and looked at houses being built in my neighborhood and in the one across the street from us. My brother and sis-in-law are getting ready to build their house, and I always think it's fun to look and get new ideas!

Then, we loaded up and went to Hideaway Pizza for dinner. We got the best seat in the house because it was right next to the window where you can watch them toss the pizza dough and make the crusts.
G really enjoyed watching them make the pizza! The boys would also toss corn starch at the window to her and she just thought it was hilarious!
We had such a fun Saturday with family!! I love that we are closer so we can enjoy days like this!

Product Photography

I am so excited to share some news with you! I've said it earlier this year, but Honey Pie Accessories is about to have an amazing year and I can't wait to see where this year takes my business! One big announcement is that I've "teamed up" with Bri Woods Chaney Photography

Bri is an amazing photographer in the Conway, Ar area. So, if you're in Central Arkansas check her out!!!

I'm working away providing photography props that she needs, and will be making baby bibs that she gives to her newborn customers. She's also providing me with amazing product photo's! I have been wanting to team up with a photographer for the past year, but i've not found one (until now) who's style that I just love!

Seriously, y'all, she takes amazing photographs!
She requested a pair of baby bloomers with an applique', but they needed to be a 12 month size, and those are hard to come by. I decided instead to try to make her a pair, and we agreed upon this pink and white chevron fabric. I also added a little polk-a-dot bow on the back, and I just love them!
She also has a photo shoot with a 1 year old boy coming up, so I made her this bow tie.

This is the first time that I've tried either of these products. So far, I've made and sold three more of the bow ties.

If you're a client of Bri, we're also offering you a 10% discount to Honey Pie Accessories, so make sure you check her out!!

Aquarium Visit

I think life may be slowing down just enough to enjoy some day-dates with the girls! Football is over, as are the holidays, vacations, and finally birthdays! I love this time of year, because we are so house bored and I have faith that the weather will warm up within the next 4 weeks that we'll be able to make some fun memories as a family!

A few weeks ago, DJ and I took the girls to the Oklahoma Aquarium, here in Tulsa. We were actually given a family membership to the aquarium as a Christmas present this year, and it may be one of my favorite gifts to ever receive! The visits will be perfect in the hot summer, and in the cooler months (like it is now.)

We brought along my new camera, and ended up getting way too many pictures, and I had a hard time narrowing them down!
MC before heading into the aquarium.
 G checking out the crab.
 How humongous is this guy?!
DJ and MC checking out the starfish.

MC was so mesmerized by everything she saw! I loved seeing her eyes light up, and her really interested to see everything.

In one area of the museum, kids can crawl under a tank, climb up a ladder, and "into" the tank. Here's MC following G inside.

These fish are just gorgeous, and I'm so amazed at God's creation of fish. He made them perfect and beautiful, just as He made each of them.
The girls sitting in front of super big fish!

 G observing fish.
I love how interactive the aquarium is. You can feed turtles or stingrays and pet starfish, shrimp, crabs, and sharks.
Here's MC leaning over the stingray tank! Thank goodness DJ had a good hold of her, or she might have dived right in!
The museum also has a huge shark exhibit. It's fun to walk under and see the sharks swimming above you. Did you know that shark's have blue eyes?

I finally passed the camera off to DJ and was able to get at least one picture with the girls!

G loves to visit the "alligator" when we leave!
It was such a fun Saturday, and thankfully, the weather wasn't too cool. Afterwards, we drove to Sand Springs to take a look at the lake. Unforunately, we all fell asleep- except DJ!
