4 Facts

Last Thursday, I checked in to Kimm's blog and saw that she had tagged me in her little 4 Facts Survey!!! And, since I'm always up for fun and games, I thought I'd play along!!!
Four names people call me, other than my real name:
1.  Mommy
2.  Tressie Elaine Guenther, I mean Welte! (because my mother still feels the need to get on to me!
3.  TJ (My childhood nickname)
4.  Mrs. Morrison (a kindergarten student at school calls me by our principal's name every day)

Four jobs that I have had:
1.  Speech Therapist
2.  Gift Wrapper- In college I worked at a little boutique shop and was put in charge of wrapping Christmas presents, and I was HORRIBLE!!!
3.  Resident Assistant- In college, I was a RA for 2 years and I was Hall Director my first year of grad school. It was awesome because I got my own room, and it cut my mom some slack about paying my room and board tuition, and I was paid a little extra on top! In grad school, the job paid 50% of my tuition as well as room and board plus some extra $$$
4.  Daycare Teacher- In high school I worked at a daycare with a ton of friends! The two year olds I use to have are graduating high school this year!!!!

Four movies I've watched more than once:
1.  Anne of Green Gables (it's on repeat at our house right now!)
2.  Frozen
3.  Bridesmaids
4.  Pitch Perfect

Four books I'd recommend:
1.  Gone Girl

Four places I've lived:
1. Arkansas (I was born and raised in central Arkansas, and lived there until I was 23.)
2.  Ruston, Louisiana- When DJ and I were married he took the Video Coordinator job at Louisiana Tech. We called Ruston home for exactly one year before moving on.
3.  Muncie, Indiana- We called Muncie home for four years. Gretchen and Megan were both born in Muncie. We went through three coaching changes at Ball State before we finally made our next move.
4.  Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. We are super proud to call Oklahoma are home. We've lived here for 5 1/2 years. (We moved two weeks after Megan was born!) I really think we've found our "home" and I look forward to staying here as long as God has planned!

Four places I've visited:
1.  Last year, we took the girls to Disney World!
2.  Branson, Missouri. We probably vacation here every year since it's so close!
3.  Italy, Greece, the Greek Isles, and Turkey. When I graduated college, my uncle was teaching high school history. I was able to go, along with a sorority sister, my mom, and my aunt. It was the most amazing 14 days. I loved soaking in the history.
4.  Wives Trips- Every year, I'm able to go to one away game with the university. I've been to West Point, Navy, Boise, Idaho, Eastern Carolina (twice), and our bowl games in Alabama, Dallas, Memphis, and Shreveport.

Four places I'd rather be right now:
1.  Home! I'm currently at work ;)
2.  The Beach. I haven't been to the beach in forever!!! I think that we need to plan a trip soon!
3.  Disney World. Seriously, after our trip last year, I'm ready to go back!
4.  On the water. DJ and I went on a cruise a few years ago, and I think we need another get away!!! But, we also love to be on the lake, so if it's hot, sunny, and there's water involved- count me in!

Four things I prefer not to eat:
1.  Peanuts or Almonds. I can only stand peanuts in a Snickers bar.
2.  Grilled Chicken. Put some chicken in a casserole or in fajitas and I'm all about it. Grill it, no thanks.
3.  Salmon. It smells horrible. I've never tried it. I just can't.
4.  Vegetables. I just am not a veggie lover.
I'm a super picky eater, so this wasn't hard at all!!!

Four favorite foods:
1.  Pizza! I'll take a large, deep dish with pepperoni, sausage, bacon, and bell peppers please!
2.  Anything that DJ cooks, except for just plain grilled chicken and veggies!
3.  Mexican!!! Chicken, Rice, Black Beans, Lettuce, Cheese, Queso!!!
4.  Chocolate. I have a major sweet tooth!!!

Four TV shows I watch:
1.  The Bachelor
2.  Nashville
3.  Criminal Minds
4.  Grey's Anatomy

Four things I'm looking forward to this year:
1.  Spring Break! I need some time off, plus, we're heading to Branson! (See, I told you we go a lot!!!)
2.  Summer!!! I'm counting down until we are at the pool every single day!
3.  Football Season- Yes, I'm kind of looking forward to it already!
4.  Warmer Weather. I am not made for winter, and I'm dying to be able to get outside and run more.

Four things I'm always saying:
1.  "Not right now"
2.  "Stop fighting!"
3.  "We'll see"
4.  "I love you"

I mean, don't all mom's say these things???

Four people I tag to answer these questions:
I'm just going to challenge all of you! Ha!!!

What I Wore Wednesday

Happy Wednesday Peeps!!! I'm linking up today with The Pleated Poppy for What I Wore Wednesday. Is anyone else ready for spring? I mean, I totally love layering and feeling cozy, but I'm also ready for a wardrobe change! Or, maybe I'm just ready for summer so I don't actually have to get dressed every day!

Let's get to it:
This gingham shirt is my favorite. I bought it this past summer, and it's lightweight that I could wear it with shorts, but I can also layer a tank, puffer, and wear it in the winter. I bought mine from Sashy Pants, and it's long sold out, but this one is very similar. I've had my vest for years, but I'm really liking this one with the fur trim.
I decided to layer my necklaces.

And, you know I'm a sucker for bracelet stacking.

We've had some cold days mixed in with warm days. I wore a red/blue plaid flannel with a cozy scarf!

This flannel from H&M is super cute!
And because I do have to dress up a bit more for work. I wore cropped black pants, a grey tee, and my monogrammed blanket scarf.
With another bracelet stack!

I layered grey cropped pants (I love a good cropped pant!) with a black tee, and a striped cardigan, my Rebel pendant, and Toms booties.
Sunday afternoon, we went to the Home & Garden show, and I kept it simple with jeans, booties, and a navy lace tee.

And on rainy days, I'm all about my Hunters, leggings, and tunics!
It's a good day when I can throw my hair in a pony tail, and show off my Nickel & Suede earrings!

So friends, what have you been wearing lately??

Show & Tell Tuesday: Win My Heart

Happy Tuesday friends! Today I'm linking up with Erika and Andrea for Show & Tell Tuesdays! A little linky party where we get to show & tell about ourselves!  Today, we're talking about How to Win Your Heart....well, my heart. But, here's the deal, there's this guy, and he totally already has my heart! So, I'm going to share about how he wins me over each and every day, or in case he needs some Valentine's day hints, I'll totally have him covered- ha!
DJ and I met when in 2004. I had just graduated with  my bachelors and was starting graduate school at Arkansas State and we had mutual friends. You see, I was sort of dating one of his really good friends at the time. But, that guy was sometimes a jerk, and DJ wasn't! He told me one night that he had a crush on me, and y'all that little boyish confession won me over. I had been crushing pretty hard too! I ended things with his friend and for a few more weeks, we sort of snuck around and didn't tell many people that we were dating. He finally told his friend, and they're not really friends anymore! But, within that first month I just knew he was the man I would marry. Two months later we had engagement and wedding rings bought and a month later he proposed. One year later we were married. It was a whirlwind!

When we were dating he told me that he was planning on working on college football and that meant lots of time away from home, possibly lots of moves, and sort of uncertain future, and I was totally game. I mean, I knew little about football at the time, but I'm practically an expert by now!
You'll find us most Saturday nights just hanging out at home and enjoying the peace and quiet after we've tucked our crazy crew in to bed!
I've talked a lot about how hard it is during football season in my Football Wife Life series, but when he's around and helping out, my heart goes pitter patter.
These girls totally have him wrapped around their finger.

So, honestly, if he wants to win my heart, all he has to do is be home. Our lives run much smoother when he's around.

A few year's ago, I read the Five Love Languages, and it really did help me understand how I respond to love. The book talks about what we each need to love: Words of Affirmation, Quality Time, Receiving Gifts, Acts of Service, and Physical Touch. I'm totally an acts of service kind of girl. When DJ lets me go out on a run and he takes over cleaning up the kitchen, giving the girls a bath, or even tucking them in. I am all over that!!! I feel like I'm with the girls so much that I can't 100% focus on other things. So, when he steps in and takes over, so I can accomplish other tasks or have a few minutes for myself, my heart totally skips a beat. When I see him folding laundry, I literally melt.

Receiving Gifts, might be another Love Language that I respond to. Although I told him years ago to not waste money on flowers- they just die. But, when he surprises me with them on our anniversary, I always appreciate the act.

A few years ago, I bought myself (sometimes I buy my own presents!) this necklace from Stella & Dot. I had it engraved with our anniversary date and I wear it every single day. I get weak in the knees for anything sentimental!
After I had Adalyn, DJ surprised me with a mother's ring. It has each of the girls birthstones, and since DJ, Adalyn, and I were all born in the same month we are all represented. I wear it with my engagement ring and wedding band.... first comes love, then marriage, and then our babies. See, I'm a total sucker.
And, when we went to Mexico after Gretchen was born, DJ bought me a tanzanite ring in Cozumel, that I wear every day.

You can totally win my heart by cleaning my house, playing with the kids, and buying me jewelry! See, I'm such a simple girl to please!!!

And, since I may need a few more surprises for Valentine's day, here are a few more ideas:
~ A massage.... I'll totally take a couple's massage, but just an hour of a really good professional rub down. Oh man.
~Any of the following jewelry pieces:

~ And a few other ideas:
So, tell me- how does your man win your heart????? Thanks friends for stopping by today!

And, if you want to join in the other link ups, here's the schedule!

Weekend Wrap Up: Sunshine Edition

How in the world has this weekend come to an end already?! It went by crazy fast, but we had a great time spending it with friends and family!
Addy Pearl had crazy hat day at school on Friday. We opted for a crown and "Elsa" braid, and then she changed her mind and wanted to wear the cupcake one.
Gretchen had lunch with her teacher on Friday afternoon, since she had her birthday! Her teacher is super sweet to celebrate birthdays at the end of each month with a pizza party!
After school, we hit up the park because the weather was gorgeous! Seriously for January, it was perfect!!
The big girls love to hang upside down at the "exercise playground".

Addy tried too, but she wasn't very successful!
All three, just swinging away!

We came home and had chocolate chip pancakes. It seems to have turned in to a Friday night tradition during recruiting season!

We dropped Gretchen off at basketball practice, and Megan and DJ stayed too while Addy and I came home and got ready for Gretchen's birthday party on Saturday, and then all the girls had baths and go tucked in to bed!

Saturday morning, DJ went to football for recruiting and the girls and I stayed home and worked on laundry and got the house cleaned. We picked up cupcakes, dropped Gretchen off at basketball pictures and then made it to the ice-skating rink for her party!
The little girls heading on in!

We spent the next few hours ice skating and celebrating Gretchen! I'll share more on her party later this week!
Once her party was over, we head home and the weather was fabulous! It was near 70s so we played outside, rode bikes, scooters, and went for a walk.

These girls broke out their car, and Addy was big enough to drive!
These sisters are just trouble!
After playing outside, we decided to head to Oklahoma Joe's for BBQ.
We colored while DJ ordered our food.

And then we scarfed down BBQ like it was going out of style.
Addy played and cooked in her kitchen before bedtime.
She told us that she was making us ketchup! Ketchup is her absolute favorite food!
Gretchen received matching pj's for herself and her doll and was ready for bed! Later on, she told us she was hot, and ended up sleeping with just her pants and on the floor in our bedroom!
Meggie put 'pj's' on her doll and wanted her picture taken before bed too!

Around 2 am she crawled in our bed too! It was definitely packed, so I ended up sleeping on the sofa to get some rest!!!
Sunday morning, DJ went to play golf so the girls and I stayed home to catch up on some laundry. I let them work on their Valentine's gifts to their teachers.
And then we busted out the paints and worked on some Valentine's paintings.
It was a mess!!!

Gretchen played with some of her birthday gifts, and then the best part of the day happened:
Addy and I curled up on the couch and she fell asleep. It was pretty hard to move after that!
Once DJ made it home, we headed to the Home & Garden show. We're needing to get gutters on the house and we wanted to scope out the tornado shelters. I'm telling you, this home owner stuff is fun! Gretchen decided that since it was in the 60s she could break out the skirt, short sleeves, and sandals!!

The girls enjoyed all of the free candy and even snagged some bath bombs from a vendor for free!

While we were there, Megan asked when we were going to see the "show", and I told her we were at it. She really thought there was a show to see!

DJ and the girls went back to the park to play while I made dinner, and then we watched a bit of Grease before calling it a night!

And, before we go, I have to let you all know that I found out that Young Living is offering 10% off their Premium Starter Kits! So, if you've been reading my oily posts and considering essential oils, now is the perfect time to dive in!
