Gulf Shores Day 2 & 3

After Monday, we took a few days off to go camping with family at the lake, and to celebrate the 4th, but I'm back today recapping more of our Gulf Shores trip. 

Tuesday morning, we had breakfast at the condo and then hit the beach. 

We were ready for another day in the sand. 

This girl loved playing around in the sand. 

DJ had some work to do in the condo, but he eventually he joined us on the beach :)

My swimsuit is here. 

We came in for lunch and decided to clean up and head out for some fun. 

We drove over to the Florida state line and then back again, and then went to the Trax to play. 

Bumper boats were first on our list. 

Addy and I were bumper boat partners; everyone else had a boat to themselves. 

There's Gretchen in her boat! 

After bumper boats, the girls rode go-carts. 

Megan had it down, and was trying to high-five us on her way by. 

Gretchen rode go-carts that were her size, and while she was there, the girls wanted to ride the carousel. 

We ended our afternoon in the arcade where DJ and I had a little basketball shoot out

Thanks to Gretchen, our team won! 

When we were finished, the girls all chose rings and bracelets as prizes. 

For dinner, we had planned on eating at Lou Lou's, but it was a 2 1/2 hour wait. We called around and found Fin & Fork, which had no wait, so we headed there. We were able to eat outside, and there was a nice little breeze to keep us comfortable. 

DJ and I also ordered drinks :) 

All of the girls got gigantic chocolate chip cookies with their meals.

I ordered the Gulf Coast Quesadilla, which was wonderful! There were so many flavors mixed in and the seafood was delicious. 

That night, the girls had baths, and I pulled out the big guns to get them to calm down and sleep. 

Wednesday morning was a little cloudy, but it didn't get that way until after we got out on the beach and settled in. 

But, the clouds rolled in quick. 

Gretchen had fun riding the waves on her board. 

I snapped this photo of Adalyn, and a few minutes later, she RAN off! I took off after her, and every once in a while, she'd turn around and "nana nana boo boo" at me, and take off again. The faster I ran, the faster she ran. Thankfully, the rain came down and was pounding (no thunder or lightening) and she stopped (she had probably ran a half a mile), turned around and ran right back toward me. 

We started heading back, and a very nice man let us take refuge under his tent and let Adalyn borrow a towel. She looked up at me and said "God made the rain start. He made it rain so I would stop running and come back to you." Yes, ma'am He sure did. We are so thankful that I had my eye on her the entire time and she was safe. It was definitely a scary moment. 

Once the rain stopped, and we made it back, the girls had fun playing and burying each other in the sand. 

We went in for lunch, and then took the girls on a banana boat ride. 

My  mom and DJ went with the girls, and they all had fun until the end when they flipped over! 

Afterwards, my mom and I went parasailing. It was both of ours first time, and it was definitely scary! Ha! Now that I've been and know what to expect, I'd probably do it again, but my mom said she'd be okay to not ever do it again. I had to steal this photo from my mom's facebook, but I'll eventually have to share a few that were taken by the crew. 

We cooked dinner in the condo and then went out for ice cream at Scoops. 

We finished off our night with some souvenir shopping, and then headed back for bed. 

Gulf Shores....

Last week we headed to Gulf Shores for a week at the beach. 

But first, we stopped at my mom's and went to a good ole fashion fish fry and church auction. 

My parents and brother's family go each year, and we were excited to join in on the fun and tag along.

Addy helped win a bird house, and Gretchen had fun bidding too! 

Sunday morning we were up bright and early to head to the beach.

Hello Mississippi River. 

We packed each of the girls a snack box, so I wasn't constantly handing out snacks every time they complained they were hungry. 

We finally stopped for lunch, somewhere in Mississippi. 

And then crossed in to Alabama. 

We drove by the battleship.

And made it to Gulf Shores right around dinner time. 

Our condo was right by Sea & Suds, so we headed there to eat. 

After dinner, Gee took the girls to the condo, and we ran across the street to the market to pick up groceries. We had planned to go to a real grocery store, but we were tired, and this market was right across the street, so we totally paid for convenience. 

Now, the market didn't have shopping carts, but our condo did. So, DJ wheeled it across the street so we wouldn't have to carry our groceries back. 

Monday morning was beach day! My mom and sister in law went down early to set up our chairs and reserve our spots. 

I headed out on a morning run. 

Yay for beach time! We were looking forward to just sitting there and soaking up the sand and surf. 

The girls had so much fun. 

This girl was a total beach girl. She loved being in the ocean!

Megan ran up and said, "I caught a fish!" And we didn't believe her, but sure enough, she caught a fish. 

We took her picture, and then let the fish go. 

Our chairs all lined up....

The girls had so much fun playing together. 

Later that night, we ate dinner in the condo and then went out to explore the beach at night. 

We found shells.

And then waited for it to get dark so we could go crab hunting. 

Gretchen found three crabs before we called it a night!
