Young Living Gift Ideas

Young Living released their holiday catalog in October and again last week and the gift ideas are endless! I always stock up because I always need some "last minute" gifts for the teachers, therapists, coaches, and co-workers that I may have forgotten about!

Today, I'm sharing a few gift ideas with you so you can stock up too and gift these goodies to some people on your list! Even if they show up on that list last minute- ha!
Dream Catcher Bath Bombs come in a set of 3. They're perfect for a busy momma co-worker who needs to unwind. Grab her a mini bottle of wine, and a bath bomb, or pair with a book so she can have a little time to unwind in the stress of the holiday season.
Vitality drops were released last Spring and they're one of our favorite ways to add flavor to your drink. Gretchen and I are both obsessed with them, and we go through a 3 pack each month. You can purchase them individually or in a set of 3, which is what we prefer to do. Grab a cute tumbler, toss vitality drops inside, wrap it up, and you have a super easy, cute gift idea!
The holiday lip balms are one of my favorite products to buy each year. They come in an adorable tin and you receive a set of 4. Of course, you can just gift the entire set to a girlfriend, or you can divide the set between 4 of your closest friends. I plan on splitting these and making a lip scrub (it's a mixture of coconut oil, sugar, and either lavender or peppermint essential oil) to give as a gift.
Cozy winter days are the best. Help your friends find the cozy with the Spiced Turmeric Herbal Tea and mug set. You could give this alone or with one of your favorite yummy treats! It would make a seriously cute hostess gift for a friend!
We grab these adorable hand sanitizer holders each year. I actually gift them to the girls in their stockings, and then we put them in their lunch box or hang on their backpack. They are seriously cute for teachers with a pair of mittens, hand lotion, or gift card!
Okay, let's talk about these little wooden trees. They're hand crafted and so cute. I can see them sitting on a tiered decorative tray, or in a holiday table arrangement. I'm seriously obsessed with them. I also think that if you're shopping for a man, that this is a great gift idea. Who wouldn't appreciate the hand carved trees. Add a drop of oil to the trees, and they act as a diffuser! And, since you receive 2, you can always split the gift!
And finally, it's time to treat yourself this holiday season! Young Living released a brand new limited starter kit that comes with a leopard print carrying bag, the sweet aroma diffuser, and a few of our favorite oils! The kit is $150.00. I have this diffuser in my living room, but it's also the perfect size to go along on our camping trips or for a bathroom. And, when you grab this kit, it will ship free and I'll send you a free Christmas Spirit essential oil!
If you're still wondering what to grab- here's a holiday gift guide :)
and finally, you'll receive free shipping, essential oils, and an adorable diffuser ornament with qualifying orders! Oh, yes!!!

Happy Shopping friends!!!

Weekend Wrap Up

We had a busy, fun family filled weekend! But first, let me back up a few days.....
On November 3, Adalyn lost a tooth! She lost one in October, then this one, and has two more that are loose! The tooth fairy is about to be broke! She doesn't like to pull her teeth or let anyone else do it. Basically, it has to fall out on it's own. I was wiping her face after lunch, and bam- it fell out. She was not happy with me!
These two. Oh y'all, if I could describe their friendship and love for each other. It is big. They sleep together every night. Go every where together, and cuddle together in the mornings.
She came in and showed me all of her sight words! She has 3 lists to master and then she gets an ice cream sundae party!!!!
DJ's brother and nephew flew in Friday, so we met them (and DJ) for lunch on Friday. Then we drove them out to the pennybaker bridge here in Austin. It's a great spot to climb up and see the views of the river and even to downtown Austin.
We dropped them back off and DJ took them on a little tour of the stadium.
By kick off- we had even more family in town. The game started at 11, so it was an early morning and a hot day! We managed to see DJ just before the game started.
And again at half time.
Nana and some of her boys.
We let Gretchen bring a friend to the game and it made the game so much more enjoyable for her. They even got to walk around together during the 3rd quarter, so I think it made her feel very "big girl."

Megan and Adalyn played with fellow staff kids throughout the game. It was so hot they were finding any shade they could and I've never been more thankful for only 25% attendance, because this season, we've had room to spread out or find shade.

This game was actually our last home game for the season since the girls and I won't be going to the game Thanksgiving week. We were so happy to have family in town with us for the last game.
When we took Gretchen's friend back to her house, we found out they had pet turtles. Adalyn has been asking for a pet turtle for two years, and I'm way closer to giving in than DJ is. These turtles live in a flower bed in their back yard with some fencing around so they can't climb out. At first, Adalyn wasn't sure about holding it, but Megan was!
Eventually, she held pistachio (the turtle) on her own, watched him eat a cricket, learned how to tell boy turtles apart from girl turtles (boys have red eyes) and watched the turtle crawl around. We learned about their hibernating and what to feed them, and I'm pretty sure they'd be a super easy pet if we had a flower bed built for them.
Saturday night ended with more cousins coming over and pizza night!
All the cousins at our house and missing a few more :(
Sunday was a lazy day. I mean, I did nothing for the entire day and it was pretty fabulous. The girls had a birthday party for a neighbor (Adalyn's best friend) and enjoyed playing at her house for a few hours.

It was a pretty awesome weekend!

Life Lately

Oh friends, Life Lately has been good. I've said it a lot, but right now, I feel like we're less stressed and myself and the kids are just happy with our current situation. I shared a homeschool update here, and today we're taking a look at life lately.
This girl and I spend lots of time in the car together. Between running Megan to gymnastics and Gretchen to speech we are in the car a lot.
The girls work on hand writing every day, and they're both making huge progress! Adalyn use to fight me on it (writing isn't her favorite) but now she's completing it with less complaining.
We carved pumpkins last Tuesday and had neighbor friends over to help. One hadn't carved a pumpkin before, and one was complete grossed out!
However, my kids think it's the best thing ever.
And, they did almost all of their cleaning and  carving themselves which made me so happy!
School work on cold days is much better when we cuddle on the sofa.
And last week, I caught Megan outside getting her morning workout in.
Gretchen had a science experiment last week, s the little girls got involved and thought it was the best ever.
They learned about different ph levels of liquid and how it would turn coffee filters dyed with purple cabbage different colors.
And for some reason, the little girls have decided the "stairs" make a perfect desk.
We had some time between activities on Monday and the weather was gorgeous, so we went to a park to play.
Gretchen climbed a tree and stayed there (she was in a bit of a teenage mood) and eventually came down to play right before we left.
And Adalyn lost another tooth! She has two more that are loose and eventually she'll have a huge hole in her mouth!

That's a look at life lately around here.

Halloween 2020

Halloween around here was a blast! We made the best of the circumstances with lots of fun activities!

Megan asked for a "Room on the Broom" day, so on Friday, we ditched our typical school routine for all things Halloween!
Morning started off with Halloween math, word searches....
and cookie baking!
These girls did all the mixing and measuring.
We watched and read Room on the Broom, did a few activities, and ended our school day with a "parts of speech" hide and seek activity.
After gymnastics, we decorated cookies and settled in for an evening with pizza and watched Casper.
Saturday morning the girls asked to put on their costumes first thing! Adalyn was "Anna" from Frozen 2.
Megan was an astronaut.

And big mom fail, I didn't get a single picture of Gretchen in her costume, but she was Luna Lovegood from a Percy Jackson book.
We really debated Trick-or-Treating this year and decided that the girls could go to just a few houses, but we decided to host a Halloween party for our neighbors. The girls have about 5 kids that they constantly play with, so we asked them over for games and ice cream sundaes.
We started off by trying to make towers with toothpicks and candy corn.
They worked together in teams to see who could create the best tower.
And it was basically a big fail because all of the candy corn kept breaking.
Gretchen was the winner with this creation!
Then we played a bean bag toss and the kids could keep the candy in the bucket if they landed the bean bag or hit the bucket.
My favorite game was the M&M game. Each kiddo got 2 small cups, a straw, and 15 M&M's- I probably should have given them 20-25.... They had 1 minute to suck a M&M with a straw and transfer it to the other cup. It was quiet for 1 solid minute, which was heaven.
Then we had a mummy race!

We also played Chubby Bunny and had ice cream sundaes topped with Halloween candy.
Texas played OSU and the game went in to overtime. Our neighbor texted to let me know they were about to leave to trick-or-treat and asked if I wanted them to take the girls. At first, I said no, that the game was almost over, and then bam, OSU came back and tied and we went in to our 3rd over time game of the season, so the girls headed out with our neighbors.
After our win, I met up with the group and we trick or treated at a few more houses. Every once in a while, the kids wanted to stop and rest.
We came home with lots and lots of candy!
And at 9:30, these kids were still having a blast outside thanks to a sugar high.

I'm so thankful for our neighbors and the friendships we've developed over the last few months. I'm also thankful Halloween gave us an extra hour of sleep because we all needed it on Sunday!
