Baseball pillow case dress

Gretchen and I were thrilled that her baseball pillow case dress made it in the mail today! DJ and I plan to take her to a Cubs game in two weeks, so of course we had to get her an outfit! Gran made Gretchen a baseball dress for her to wear to the game!

Memorial Day & the Minnetrista

For Memorial Day, DJ and I took Gretchen to the Minnetrista; it was a free day and we had never been before, so this was the perfect opportunity to explore it! (Especially, since it was too cool to play in the sprinklers today.) They had 4 exhibits that we could explore. The 1st was about bees and honey.... did you know that bee's can't see the color red? The 2nd was all about animals. Gretchen got to dress up as a chipmunk and explore bugs, seashells and animals. Then, we got to visit the kitchen area where Gretchen could practice her cooking and canning skills. She had fun taking the vegetables out of the jars, putting them into pots, stirring, and taking the veggies back out! Finally, we went and walked through the Ball jar exhibit, and we punched her time clock and left a message in a jar.

We came home and grilled out turkey burgers; perfect for Memorial day! We are thankful for those that have served this country and have put their lives at risk or have given their lives for our freedom. If it weren't for these men and women we wouldn't be able to enjoy the freedoms we have and the wonderful day today!

Batter Up!

DJ and I are taking Gretchen to her 2nd Cubs game! We just bought our tickets, so now we have to get prepared. DJ told me that I had to get a Cubs shirt; every other time we've gone I've just worn red or blue. Last year we bought Gretchen a "My 1st Cubs" t-shirt, but this year she is getting a Cubs pillow case dress and I've made her a Cubs hair bow. Her dress will be red, with baseball fabric at the bottom, and "Cubs" will be monogrammed. I just finished her bow, and couldn't wait to post pictures!

I'm going to offer baseball themed hair bows on the website. You can choose your favorite team and colors. It can be as large and over-the-top as you'd want or as small and simple as you'd like. You can choose just a simple boutique bow with baseball ribbon, or you can add colors and accent pieces.... it's all up to you! I love creating custom pieces, and the football hair bows went over very well last fall, so I wanted to try it again with baseball bows! Plus, your husband will be thrilled that you thought of his favorite baseball team, and even more thrilled that his little girl is a fan too!

New bows

I plan on adding more bows to the website by this weekend! I was able to work on a few last night, but this rest of this week appears that it may be busy. I have a conference tomorrow afternoon, so I'll probably get home late from work, and Wednesday's are reserved for mid-week cleaning! On Thursday, I have a strength class at the Y, and I have to finish up any last minute cleaning because my mom and grandma are coming in! So, we'll see how many bows I can complete this week!

I'm excited that my mom and grandma are coming! We plan on doing a bit of sewing; we want to make Gretchen a pillow case dress for the 4th of July, and I want to make her two pigtail bows to go with the outfit.

Anyway, on to the new bows!!!!!!

Burpie price change

I am raising the prices of the burpies, not by much, just a little! Unfortunately, I am not making much money off of the burpies. I love them, they're adorable, and such a great gift for expecting mothers, but they are expensive to make and sell in a set of 3. I am not increasing prices if ribbon embellishments are added, however I am charging $1.00 for the inital monogram.

The new prices will be effective May 1, 2009. All orders placed before this date are being sold at the original price of 3 for $10.00 with 1 free initial.
