Potty time!

I bought Gretchen a potty today! We are slowly going to introduce potty training; she's 18 months.

During our vacation, I noticed a few "readiness" signs. When she was wearing her swim diaper, and pottied on herself, she absolutely hated it (and started crying). She's also starting to answer yes/no when I ask her if her diaper is wet or poopy.

I plan on putting her on the potty when she first wakes up, before/after nap, and before her bath and bedtime.

DJ put it together tonight, and we let her sit on it before dinner (with all of her clothes on), so she could figure out that it's just like a chair. She did well sitting on it, but also wanted to stand on it. Before her bath, we let her sit on it and sang songs, so she could get use to sitting on it for a while. She was very proud of herself when she was finished sitting. (no, she didn't go potty). I had to change her diaper before bedtime, so we set her on the potty again. We sang a few songs, and after waiting a bit, we decided to get her up. Unfortunately, as soon as she stood up, she fell down. I thought that it was because the floor was still wet from her bath, but she peed on herself and slipped and fell! So, she did go, just not while she was sitting on the potty.

I can't believe how big she is getting! This is a huge step for both of us.

Football..... already?

Wow! Football season is right around the corner; time has flown by! For those of you that know me personally, you know that my husband is a video coordinator for a college football team. So, football is our life. I love going to games in the fall, I love tailgating, the food..... all of it! It just excites me!

Last year, I created a football outfit and hair bow for Gretchen, but this year I want to go a step further! I want to create football and team inspired tutu's, hair bows, and pillowcase dresses!

GG and I are working together to create unique team-inspired pillow case dresses. Our 1st dress will be made of a corduroy. Gretchen's will be red with black ribbon and either "Cardinals" or "Ball State" monogrammed on the front. Her 2nd dress will be made of red and black fabric(s). And, I might even make her a red, black, and/or white tutu to wear!

So, let us work with you to create an outfit for your little fan! There are so many possibilities for a custom tutu or dress! You can also purchase coordinating burp cloths, paci holders, or bib holders! Make it a gift set and receive a discount!

Happy Father's Day!

Gretchen is very blessed to have a wonderful daddy! Though, she's not always daddy's little girl, she loves him so much! DJ received his main father's day gift a little early, a fire pit for the yard! He's already used it twice and has enjoyed relaxing by the fire in the evenings. Today, we went to church and out to lunch with friends. Later this afternoon, we had ice cream and Gretchen gave DJ his suprise presents: pez and a grill temperature fork. Although, Gretchen didn't really want to give him the gifts (she had a hard time understanding why the boxes I gave to her, she would have to give up to daddy). She finally gave him the gifts after throwing a little fit on the couch, and being the great daddy that he is, he let her play with the boxes after he opened them! DJ also relaxed by watching the Cubs win and then by watching golf!

It has been a great day, as we've celebrated our love for DJ, we have also been reminded of the Heavenly Father that we have; to which we are both very grateful for.

Grant's paci clip

My online friend, Sara, just had her 3rd baby! An adorable little boy! She asked me if I was making paci clips; I had wanted to make them many months ago, but I've never had a great reason or the time to get around to it, until Sara asked! So, just for her I ordered the clips and bought some ribbon, so I could start making them! I'm so glad that she made me make her one; they are absolutely adorable and so much fun to make!

The paci clips come on a metal clip that has a plastic lining, to protect clothes. These clips are suppose to be the best and hold up really well, compared to the plastic clips. I use grosgrain ribbon, because it holds well, and the pacifier is held with a snap closure on the ribbon. Paci clips are $3.00 each.
