Christmas bows!

"It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas"........ Well, at least in the stores! (and it has since August) Even though I'm pumped about Thanksgiving- mostly because Thanksgiving weekend Gretchen and I will be traveling to Branson to have a girls weekend with my family, I have to start posting about my Christmas items!

I haven't uploaded them to the website, but that's the plan for this evening after Gretchen goes to bed!

Christmas is my favorite holiday (I even had a Christmas wedding) so I tend to go a bit overboard on the bows and clippies, but they're just too adorable!
The Snowman Clippie is made of an off-white grosgrain ribbon, and set on a partially-lined alligator clip. He even has a pink bow tie. I can line this clippie with a non-slip gripper if you'd like! The best part? He's only $3.00!!!!!
The 2nd is this adorable red/green stacked boutique bow. It will perfectly match any Christmas outfit. The bottom base bow is green with white dots and a red surround-a-loop. There are a variety of ribbon sprays on top of the green dot bow. It's all topped off with a red grosgrain bow and tied together with a green knotted center. This bow is $6.00

The 3rd bow is the reindeer boutique bow. I made some of these last year and loved them. The bow is simple, cute, and classic. It can be paired with casual Christmas attire or with a Christmas dress. It's set on a partially lined alligator clip. The adorable reindeer is actually hand-made! Not by me, but from a seller on Etsy. Because of the polymer clay reindeer, the cost of this bow is $6.00- but it's totally worth it!

The last bow is somewhat a reverse of the 2nd. The base bow is a red grosgrain boutqie bow, with a Christmas spray and topped off with the gree polk-a-dot bow. This bow is $6.00
I can't wait to start putting Christmas bows in Gretchen's hair! I have a strict rule though, that I must wait until after Thanksgiving. But, I love that these will go with a simple turtleneck, sweater, or dress! If you'd like to purchase a Christmas bow or have one custom made, please email me at elaineguenther@yahoo.com or go to my website and complete a forms response.
While you're here, don't forget to enter the November give away! I know, I still haven't posted a picture.

Random

I know I've already posted today. But, I can't just sit and watch t.v. at night- just ask my husband. I usually sit in front of the t.v. and read on the computer.

Tonight, I was browsing through Etsy. If you haven't heard of Etsy, you need to check it out. It's a great place to purchase hand-made items. I've purchased many things from Etsy and I'm yet to be disappointed. So, I decided to browse through "toys" and came across the most random toys. I had to post them.

I'm thinking I can start a "random" post once a week, but I can't promise a set day- I am a working, full-time mom, but, i'll try!

So, here they are: The most random things I found on Etsy this evening:

Need a mobile for your baby, or as a gift? You can always purchase this one for $28.00- or make it yourself. Yup, those are pom poms, dowel rods, and string.
Bonbon bears are so sweet even their poo is delicious! Believe me, I couldn't have made that up myself. You can check them out here.

Patchworkphoenix actually made the slug and mushroom (shown above). Sadly, there's a story to go with it. You can purchase these for $10.33- random price; right?

You can purchase this Roland red felt piano for $75.00 here. This thing, better have a few gold dust chips inside, and it better work! There's no way that I'd pay $75.00 bucks for a felt piano. But, I'm sure that someone would.
Need a colon? Here's Colin! You can purchase this lovely colon from Amy's Organ Bank. If you're not in the market for a colon, don't worry- she has other organs in her shop! These are actually inspired by her father, who had an organ transplant, so, she created an organ to help replace the one that he lost. Who thinks of these things? These can serve as a memory of the difficult times, but also an educational purpose. Each organ, comes with an information card. Yes, she has actually had sales! But, they are kind of cute, in a wierd-random sort of way!

A Blanket and Burpies

Since I had some extra time tonight, I wanted post the blanket and burpies that my mom sent up for the craft fair. Of course, you have the chance to purchase these items first; just let me know by Thursday! This is an adorable little boys blanket. One side features the plaid and the other features a blue/white pinstripe. This blanket is $8.00
This baseball burpie is $5.00

Purchase 1 or both of these striped burpies. $5.00 for 1 or $9.00 for both.

I love these adorable construction burpies. These will make a great shower gift! $5.00 each or $9.00 for both.

$5.00 Bibs!

My 1st craft fair is now less than a week away! I plan on staying busy each evening sewing and making plenty of bows and clippies for the event.

A few days ago, I posted about the dresses my mom and sister in law sent for me to sell. Today, I wanted to share with you the adorable baby bibs!

Each bib is made with a fabric front, and a terry cloth back. Gretchen has a few bibs like this, and I love them! When she's eating something messy, I just turn it around, so the terry cloth will absorb the mess! The bibs have a velcro closure.

If you would like to order a bib, for your little honey, or as a gift, please let me know before Thursday and I will hold it for you. Bibs are $5.00 each ($3.00 S&H)
The first two bibs are made with a funky floral fabric and have a hot pink ribbon across the front.

The 2nd bibs are camo! I think this is one of the first things that we've had for little boys!

The 3rd is our "Ho Ho Ho" bib. These bibs will work for girls and boys. Each features a satin green ribbon. I have 2 of these available, as my friend Kat just purchased one for her little boy!
Right now, these aren't custom made. GG just made these for the craft fair, but if you'd like a custom bib, then let us know! I'm sure that we can arrange to make you one! We can also customize a bib to match a pillowcase dress for you!

Thursday will be sneaking up before you know it, so let us know soon!

Oh, and do you like my new blog design? Courtesy of The Cutest Blog on the Block! I'm thankful that Gretchen is taking a great nap, so I've had time to update it!

Happy Halloween!

Today was Gretchen's first time getting all decked out for Halloween and her first time trick-or-treating! I've been working on her costume for weeks, and I love how it turned out! She was a dalmation puppy.

Ball State played today, and we planned on going to the game and letting her wear her costume, but after her nap (I wanted her in a good mood for trick-or-treating.) So, we headed out the door half dressed (there was no way she could wear her tutu in the car!) and called daddy. Thankfully, he was in his office, but he had to let us know that the game had just ended and we had lost, so we turned around and headed back home. So Gretchen didn't get to show off her costume to our friends.

We ate dinner a bit early, and then got Gretchen ready. Here are a few pics from the evening:
Gretchen all dressed and ready to go!
Gretchen and daddy leaving the house.

Knocking on her very first door to get candy! She was such a big girl and walked down the street by herself! Gran and grandpa are getting her a wagon for Christmas, so we'll have it next year!

One house gave out rings. We went around the outer block in our neighborhoood, and then came home. Gretchen isn't really allowed to eat candy, so we thought that we had enough, plus we had to give out our own candy. Let me go back, and touch on the fact that we won't let Gretchen eat much candy- I have never been more thankful for those that gave out a bag of pretzels and goldfish- thank you! The pretzels got us through the rest of our trip, because she really wanted to eat the candy, and the goldfish got us through her fussiness once we were home.

When we got home, we had our first trick or treaters of the night, two adorable little girls that Gretchen goes to daycare with. DJ handed them the candy and Gretchen cried.

So, we dumped all of her candy out so she could see that she still had some. See all the yellow boxes? She was taking them from our bag that we were handing out and putting them in her own bucket.

Gretchen and mommy at the end of the night.

Happy Halloween from Gretchen Rose and Honey Pie Accessories!!!!!
We hope that your little honey got just as much candy, had just as much fun, and that your family made some wonderful memories!

See, she keeps stealing the candy!

Halloween Bucket Tutorial Part 2

Alright, I realize that it's the night before Halloween and I'm just now finishing the tutorial for you. I apologize, since this week has been so busy, let alone the whole month of October! So, here it is- remember, you can recreate these with a Christmas theme!

After stenciling the "trick or treat", I stenciled the ghost with purple. Don't forget that you can go back and clean it up with a wet q-tip, and can also touch-up with a q-tip dipped in paint.

Then, I stenciled her name on the back. It's not centered. This is where I messed up. After 21 months, I just now realized that Gretchen's name has 8 letters, meaning I should have put 4 on each side of the seam. Oh well; you live and learn!

For the handle, purchase fabric. I purchased 2 different kinds and had a 3rd Halloween print. Cut each fabric into strips. I used 2 inch strips, but ended up folding them in half. You can cut these strips with pinking shears for another cute look. But, they're $9.00 at Hobby Lobby, meaning I wasn't buying them!

Next, tie the fabric around the bucket handle alternating the fabric. If you don't want to use fabric you can use ribbon.

Tie tons of fabric- you don't want a space between them, make sure you go all the way down.
This is the lid. I was actually just playing to see how the paint would stick and how to rough up the finish, but it turned out kind of cute! I simply dabbed the brush in a bit of paint and dabbed it onto the lid for a splotchy look.

Here's the finished back of the bucket.

Here's the finished front! Thank goodness that it will be dark at night, and no one will be too close to the bucket, so they won't see my little mess ups.
Last step- spray the bucket w/ a sealer. You can purchase this at Hobby Lobby in the same aisle as you purchased the paint. It will seal the paint so it won't rub off.
So, if you're brave, and if you have the time you can try this project for your little honey or start now and make them for Christmas! They'll make adorable gift wrap, and they'll last for years to come!

Dresses by GG

I'm getting ready for my first craft fair next weekend, which is keeping me busy along with work, working out, and preparing for Gretchen's 1st time trick-or-treating.... I'm still sewing sequins onto her costume.

Gran decided that she would send up some pillowcase dresses for me to sale at the craft show. We are trying to get some extra spending money for our much needed girls trip to Branson, Mo. on Thanksgiving weekend!

As a special treat, to my customers, I want to offer GG's products to you at a reduced rate! These dresses will sell from now until Nov 6th for $15.00 each! Usually, our dresses start at $18.00. Note- these dresses are not monogrammed, and our not custom made, therefore sizes may vary.

But, check them out- they are adorable!!!!!! And, I'll be posting more of GG's Collection over the next day or two!
This red pillowcase dress will best fit a 1 1/2 -3 year old. We have 2 of these! The dress will be versatile throughout the year and comes with Christmas ribbon (shown here), Valentine ribbon, black ribbon, and 4th of July ribbon! Whoever knew you could come up wtih 4 looks with just 1 dress?!

This brown and pink dot dress will best fit an infant up to 1 year. It was actually made by my sister-in-law and is simply adorable! It features pink satin ribbon ties.

I love this white dress. It comes with green ribbon and "Jesus loves me" ribbon. You can also change it out for more versatile looks. This dress will best fit a 1-2 year old.

Here's another white dress, with black and zebra ribbon! This dress will best fit a 1-2 year old.

I love this blue plaid dress. It will best fit a 1-2 1/2 year old. Pair it with a light blue turtleneck, and it's the ultimate winter dress. (It reminds me of cold winter days and snowflakes!) Or, pair it with white sandals and it's the perfect summer dress!

If you are interested in ordering a dress, please email me at elaineguenther@yahoo.com. Dresses are $15.00 with $3.00 shipping and handling.

Aren't they adorable?!

Halloween at the YMCA

Our local YMCA had a Halloween party last Friday night. Since DJ was out of town I decided to take Gretchen and meet my friend Melissa (with her two adorable babies- Macy and Matthew) for an evening out of the house filled with some fun for the kiddos.

Gretchen enjoyed placing stickers and stamping her treat bag. Later in the evening, she enjoyed shredding it into pieces.
This was probably the most appropriate game for Gretchen and Macy, although Macy did well with the fishing game. This was a bean bag toss and even though Gretchen didn't toss the bags she still got a prize and mommy was proud because she proved she could pick up her toys! Macy was a pro at this game and threw all of her bean bags in!

While Macy was wondering "what the heck was going on?" Gretchen preferred to sit on the floor and play with the two Halloween coloring books she received. The first one ended up torn and left on the gym floor (sorry), this one made it home with us in one piece!

Gretchen was also able to pick out a pumpkin to take home with us. She has enjoyed rolling it and throwing it in the house- to her, it's just an orange ball.
