Flower Butts!

I saw these Flower butt onesies in a boutique in Tulsa and knew that I had to recreate them! If you're looking for a beautiful newborn portrait outfit, then these are darling! They're also perfect for spring time! A friend had given me this yellow and white stripe onesie, so I decided to add purple flowers on the butt. I love the purple and yellow combination and can't wait for M to wear this!
I created this one for Little Bow Peep's, a new consignment store opening in Jonesboro, Ar!

These do come with a word of caution! First, they should be washed inside out on a gentle cycle or hand washed. They do NOT need to go in the dryer! I also wouldn't put these on a child who runs around like crazy, and wouldn't allow them to wear it for a longer period of time, simply because they are so delicate! As I test one out on M, then I might change my precautions, but for now I'd rather be overly cautious than to end up with an unhappy customer!

I added these to my 'flower shirt' album on facebook, so you can purchase 1 directly from there. They'll be available on white, pink and white stripe, solid pink, or purple and white stripe onesies, and you'll be able to choose your flower choice. Currently, I have yellow and red in stock, but I know I can get many other colors!

The flower butt would also be cute with 3 different color flowers! I think it would also be cute with a bling initial on the front, or with a monogram!

Miss Cottontail

I love, love, love custom orders, and when my friend Trisha, asked if I could make her daughter a bunny rabbit shirt for her Easter party at preschool, I jumped at the chance! For one, it was something that I hadn't made before- my Easter shirts had been pretty simple in the past, and even though I wanted to expand that line this year, time got away from me.
Trisha picked out the design and the fabric, so I can say, I had little say in the design of this shirt! She did a great job, and I know J (her daughter) will be the cutest one at her Easter party this week!

33 weeks

These last few weeks have started to go by slower and slower- is anyone else feeling this way? Maybe it's just because i'm nearing the end, because i'm ready for summer, and because i'm ready to be a family that lives in the same state again! I had a doctor appointment on Monday, and to be honest, it was very uneventful. I think i'm so tired of them by now, that I was happy just to hear the heartbeating. So, I didn't even ask what I was measuring, nor did I ask about the heart rate. The doctor just confirmed that I was still on for the induction around the 23rd of May. At this point, I'm still sleeping pretty well, unless my 3 year old is kicking me in the back or face! Walking is a bit painful, as people have started to point out that I am 'waddling' down the hallway. I'm still craving chocolate, or anything that is really cold, and cereal. And, i've been wanting a fruit smoothie, but i've been too lazy to make one.... maybe tonight? As far as M is concerned, her lungs should be almost fully developed! She should also be able to detect light, and should I shine a flashlight at my belly, she'll likely move away from it.... maybe G and I should try this later? And, she should gain about 1/2 pound per week (meaning I'll be gaining that too) She should weigh close to 4 1/2 pounds, and be about 17.5 inches long. Someone asked me the other day if I was prepared and I just laughed! My list is getting longer and longer and I'm not anywhere prepared. I simply told them that my grandmother would be here in 2 weeks, and that we would worry about it then!

Fabric Headbands

Gretchen is getting to a point of not wanting me to brush her hair every day, and since i'm a single mom at the moment, we often find that we're running out of time to fix her hair during our hectic mornings & getting out the door. I had been wanting to make her a few ribbon wrapped headbands for a while, but it seems as if I can never decide on a color combination. I decided instead, that I would wrap a few headbands in fabric that would match some of her applique' shirts, or solid color shirts as well. I love how they turned out & they were pretty easy to make! The one above is wrapped in a pink fabric that features touches of yellow. Gretchen has a lemonade applique' shirt that this will match, as well as an initial monogrammed shirt that it will match as well. To keep it from slipping, there is a line of grosgrain ribbon placed on the inside.
I had this pink damask fabric that I fell in love with, and even though G doesn't have anything that will match this, she does have tons of pink in her wardrobe! So, I wrapped the headband, placed the grosgrain on the inside, and added this matching fabric rosette on the top!

I listed these on my Facebook page for around $7.00 each. You'll be able to choose your fabric & can even request one to match an applique' shirt....

Perfect for rushed hectic mornings!

Fabric Rosettes

I had a friend over this week, and she showed me how to make these fabric rosettes. I decided to try it today and I'm loving how they've turned out! They can be attached to burpies: Or, they can be attached to a onesie, shirt, or sweater. I'm thinking they'll also look adorable on aligator clips & headbands!
Here's a close up of the first two I made. One is going to be attached to a present for my sister-in-law, the other will stay on the burpie above.

So, what do you think?
