Here Little Piggies

I picked the girls up from school last Friday afternoon so we could head to Fayetteville! I had been looking forward to this game for the entire season, and it was finally here! The girls did great on the drive over, and we ate dinner at Marketplace Grill before checking into our hotel. It turns out that I had a college friend, who lived just a few minutes from where we were staying so she and her oldest son met us for ice cream! It was so good to see her and catch up; she's always been such a happy person.

DJ's mom also drove over Friday evening, so after tucking the girls into bed, the grown ups had a drink and talked. It was so nice to see her!

MC did horrible sleeping that night, and she woke us all up around 4:30 in the morning! About two hours later she finally fell back to sleep!

Kickoff was at 11:21, so we had to get up early to get ready for the game. Thankfully, parking was relatively easy, and we just had to pick up our tickets at will call.
My parents, cousin, and her kid's also came up for the game. They met us there right before kick off, but I snapped these pictures while we were waiting on them. MC found a rock and was very proud to show it off!
The temperature was perfect for the game, although it was a little cold in the shade. Thankfully, we didn't have that problem once we got inside.
I tried to get a picture of the girls & I before the game, but I was the only one that wanted to cooperate!
My parents are not huge Razorback fans, but they still had to show their Arkansas pride. My stepdad wore a Razorback hat along with his Tulsa shirt, and my mom wore white so she could be "neutral". Although, they did cheer on the Hurricane throughout the entire game!
Here's both mascots before the game. I asked G if she wanted to have her picture taken with them, but she refused, so it looks like she'll have to wait a little longer to go to Disneyland!
I was dreading having MC in the stands, especially since she didn't sleep well the night before, and the game was in the middle of nap time. All she wanted to do was climb!
Here's the Arkansas band taking the field.

G only wanted to be with her Gee during the first part of the game. She absolutely refused to have her picture taken! Thankfully, she warmed up to everyone a bit more after she had lunch.
And, TU's team captains taking the field for the coin toss.
And, here comes the Golden Hurricane.
I absolutely love that our team huddles together after they come out and pray before the game. We have such a God-centered staff, and it really shows.
For some reason, I was totally surprised to find DJ on the field. I shouldn't have been- it's his job! But, I got this picture of him shooting the players for highlight video footage.
TU was so close to scoring a touchdown during this drive of the game!
MC enjoyed hanging out with her Nana.
G put these pompoms together and gave my mom "Tulsa hair"..... she is such a goofball! (G that is.)
So, then G had a turn with "Tulsa hair" and I had a turn as well, but we just didn't get that on camera!
G was begging for cotton candy, so my stepdad finally broke down and bought her some. She insisted on eating it straight off the stick!
We about died laughing seeing her face after eating her cotton candy!
Thankfully, MC ended up doing very well during the game. She was so tired, and I ended up bringing the bjorn carrier, and I'm so glad that I did! She stayed in it for a while, and eventually fell asleep. G just hung around and enjoyed being with her grandparents. Sadly, our Tulsa team did not beat the piggies on Saturday, but it was a wonderful Saturday and so great to be with family!

Here's a photo of all of us at the game:

Halloween Night

I decided to fix the girls a fun Halloween themed dinner last week! I forgot to throw something in the crock pot so this is what I came up with : pumpkin pb&j, monster fingers, and monster eyeballs! G enjoyed the theme of the dinner and ate everything!
The girls decided to be fairies this year for Halloween. I made their costumes, as I have for the past four years.

MC was a "flower fairy" and her costume was pink and orange.
 G decided to be Tinkerbell.
I added flowers to the back of MC's wings.
And made her a matching hair piece.
She just looked so precious on Halloween night!
G's outfit turned out just as cute! I did purchase her real Tinkerbell shoes from the disney store, and purchased her wings and a long sleeve t-shirt. But, her tutu costume was all me! I had fun making these this year!
I even got in the fun and dressed up as a pirate!
G was so excited to go trick-or-treating! She's been looking forward to this for weeks!
As we were walking the neighborhood, MC decided she needed to help push the wagon! It was so funny to watch her push as she walked along.
Once she figured out that she was getting candy in her bucket, she was so excited to trick-or-treat! She tried to walk into a few houses, but it was so cute to watch the excitement in her face as she got candy and said "thank you" which sometimes lead to more candy!
G ran along with a friend, so it was rare to get a photo of her standing still!
DJ met us in our neighborhood once he was off work! I was relieved because it was exhausting trick-or-treating with two kids.
I love this picture of MC. She just looks so grown up and independent.
On our way home, we put MC in the wagon, and she just dug in her treat bucket.
Here she is signing "please" because she really wanted her candy!
We dumped out all of their candy when we came home, and picked out all of the "gross" candy. G decided that we needed to give away candy, so she gave all the pieces that she didn't want to trick-or-treaters!
I put MC in her Halloween pj's, and put her in bed as soon as I could! She was already up over an hour after her bedtime, and was so exhausted!
I can't wait till next Halloween! It'll be so much fun watching them run through the neighborhood and trying to choose their Halloween costumes!

Halloween Parties!

I've been horrible about staying on top of Halloween posts, so this week will be a catch up! I can't believe it's already November! October, totally flew by and I know that this month will too. We're just so busy right now that it's hard staying on top of everything.

Last week, I had the girls wear Halloween outfits that I made them. I did this little twirl skirt and matching shirt for G. Thankfully, it was warm enough for her to wear it with just a pair of leggings underneath, and the shirt was a little big, so she can wear it next year too.
I did this little onesie for MC, but it was cool in the morning so we through a sweater on top of it. My plan was for her to wear it with just leggings, but we needed to throw on pants for her. She was cranky and walking back toward the camera in this picture.
DJ happened to be home, so we took a picture of me and the girls before we all headed off to school!
The girls had Halloween parties at school, and I was really depressed at the thought of missing them, since i'm working full time again. It turns out, that G's class party wasn't going to be until 12:15, so I was able to take a long lunch and visit her! I also didn't want to go to MC's party and have her cry when I left.

MC wore this adorable ghost dress to school on Halloween day. It was also G's, which makes it special.
I let G wear a costume to school, but not her actual Halloween costume. I was afraid that it would get too messed up at school, but this gives her a chance to use her own creativity. At first, she was going to be Cinderella, and wear her tutu gown, but then she changed her mind and decided to be Princess Tiana. The night before, she changed her mind again and decided to be Angelina Ballerina. After two outfit changes, this is what she came up with!
She's picking out her own outfits now, and it's been fun seeing the styles that she's trying to throw together!

During her class party, they played "pin the nose on the jack-o-lantern" and had "pumpkin" races.

I love seeing her personality at school!
Her class had lots of treats to eat, and lots of orange food! We brought mandarin orange pumpkin cups, and they had cookies, carrots, fruit, and veggie dip.
Each year, her school decorates pumpkins and has a contest to see who has created the best. Here's G with her class pumpkin. They made a sparkling jack-o-lantern.

MC's class made a pumpkin lamb- the kids were able to glue on the cotton balls!
MC was eating her snack when I picked her up last Wednesday afternoon, so I took her picture- maybe she'll think that I actually made it to her Halloween party and not feel left out!
One of her friends gave her this goody bag with some treats.

It was such a fun and busy Halloween day- I was so excited to get home for trick-or-treating that night!
