WIWW & A Little Fashionista

We are a few weeks into the school year, and I've already forgotten about AND not had time to take 'fashion' pictures before school, and honestly, I'd look a little silly taking pictures of my outfits while i'm in my office or in the bathroom. So, here's a hodge podge of pictures from the last month, from those few and far between moments that I've actually remembered to snap a quick photo.

My husband is a huge 49ers fan. Well, I guess probably not the biggest, but a few years ago he begged me to buy myself a 49ers shirt. I wore it on the first football Sunday just for him. Paired with my Vigoss jeans and leopard print sandals, just to girlify my shirt a bit.
I shared about my love for my Matilda Jane Finns a few weeks ago. I'm still wearing these pants weekly. I'd wear them every day if I could.
I had an all day SLP meeting one Friday, and was able to wear jeans. I love me a good jean day!
I paired this dress from Loft with my Nickel & Suede earrings, a long necklace, and my Hunter boots together on a rainy day.
I think I should have titled this post "I Love My Vigoss". Hands down the most comfortable pair of jeans I own. I wore "the must have shirt" with wedges and my Nickel & Suede leather wrap bracelet

And, I'm not the only fashionista in our family:
Because clearly, this girl out styles me any day.

Girl Mom: Hair Styles for Girls

Having three girls with tons of hair is challenging! When we are rushed to get out the door, I try to quickly brush their hair and put it up to the side, out of their face, add a hair bow, and then we are out the door.

We are always late, so my girls get the same hair style every day. Any one else?
Gretchen's hair is naturally straight with a wave in the back. I let her sleep in pink sponge rollers so she would have curly hair for church. Meggie is 3 and has never had her hair cut. Her hair has curls about mid-way down, and I just cannot bring myself to cut her curls. I know that once her hair is cut, her curls will be gone.

I decided to browse Pinterest in order to get some pinspiration for styling my daughter's hair, just in case we ever have some extra time!

First, I had to share with y'all about the Wet Brush. I have raved and raved over the Knot Genie, but I recently read about the Wet Brush and decided to pick it up at Target over the weekend. We've only used it a few times, but it made brushing Gretchen's thick hair so much faster!
Here's another example of how I tend to style hair. To the side and with a bow.

It's boring y'all.

Here are a few of the favorites that I found! These are all easy and stylish!

I do tend to put pigtails in the girls hair, a ponytail, a messy bun, or a side ponytail. I love this side pony tail with the twist.
I couldn't find an original source for this picture, and Lord knows I could not get parts this straight (because my girls can't sit still for more than a minute) but I love this little pigtail hair style.
Similar to the side pony tail twists, I love the look of this ponytail.

I'm pretty sure that this would be simple enough!

Are you any good at styling hair? How do you let your daughter's wear their hair each day? Do you fall back on the same style like I do?

Got tips? Share them!

Fall is in the Air!

Our house is officially ready for fall to arrive! Now we just need the weather to arrive with it!

My mom came to Tulsa two weekends ago and helped me decorate the house for fall. I decorate every year on our first away game of the season.

Many of the pieces, I've had for years, but i'll try to tell you where they're from or the little stories behind them.

Come on in.
On top of our DVD storage, I put two wicker pumpkins (old from Hobby Lobby) and my squirrel bowl filled with potpourri.
I was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta, and my mom purchased my squirrel dish from Cracker Barrel while I was in college.
I shared my fall mantle inspiration here, and I love how my chalkboard turned out with my rag garland. I'm going to leave my chalkboard here rather than hanging it in the kitchen as I had originally planned.

I made the rag garland by cutting strips of fabric, ribbon, and tulle, and tying it in knots around jute string (available at Hobby Lobby).

The candlestick holder is from Hobby Lobby, as is the pilgrim and picture frame. I framed a picture of the girls from last Halloween. My hugging squirrels have been around since my college days.
We tied together several fall flowers and tied them with a big burlap bow.
Then we added pumpkins on the other side. The tall pumpkin came from Hobby Lobby. My mom purchased the other two for me from A to Z in Alma, Arkansas.
I placed my "Welcome to the Nut House" pillow on my couch. Again, I've had it since my college sorority days!
On our end table, I put a few fall-themed magazines and a gourd that my mother-in-law gave me.
On the shelf in our kitchen, I have a mason jar of coffee beans, two pilgrims (from Hobby Lobby) and a leaf candy dish that I placed on a stand.
On the kitchen table, I added a wooden tray and placed three vases filled with autumn essentials. A squirrel, our bible verses, and an acorn napkin holder complete the look.
I love the simplicity and the texture of my filled jars.
Our entry way has my mini-chalkboard sign, a framed picture of Adalyn in my witches hat, candy dishes, and more pumpkins.
My mom was able to create this little flower arrangement.
I had been eyeing Andrea's kitchen window ledge for months. I just love how she is able to decorate behind it. I decided to turn this unused space on our bar, into my own little happy ledge. I had the jars filled with summery fruits, and I changed them out for the fall.

Side note: this is the only post of Andrea's kitchen window that I could find! It's her 4th of July decor, and you'll have to scroll down to see her window ledge!
I found this owl plate at Wal-Mart for just $3.00 and had to snatch it up!
I've turned this little buffet table into a kids area in our kitchen. My mom purchased the table runner while she was on a mission trip in Mexico. It's actually a scarf, but it makes a perfect table runner.
I found the paper plates at A to Z in Alma, the polk-a-dot napkins in the $1.00 section at Target, and the orange and green paper straws wee in the $1.00 section too!
Gretchen and Megan made this ghost canvas in 2011, and Gretchen has asked if we could make another one this year.

The banner was $3.00 in Target's dollar section.
My mom bought us this trick or treat count down a few years ago.
I've started to leave a bucket of crayons on the girls table so they can color while I'm working on dinner.
And another view just because!

Just a few thoughts: I like to stick with pumpkins and fall colors and squirrels for fall decorating. I throw in a few Thanksgiving touches, but I've not added any turkeys into my collection. I want my fall decor to last September through November without many changes. I'm not big on Halloween specific decor, which is why we only have the kids table in the kitchen for Halloween. In November, i'll remove the Halloween specific decorations, but the table will still be for the kiddos. I buy a few new decoration pieces each year to add to the collection. I love that my sorority mascot was a squirrel, because I get to pull out pieces that I've been able to cherish for a long time! My mantle and my kids table our my favorite areas in the house this year! I'm so thankful that my mom was able to help, because she used pieces in ways that I hadn't thought of!

And, a final side note, let's all take a minute to appreciate my husband because without his knowledge of camera cards and how to fix them, this post wouldn't have happened and lots of photos would've been damaged because I thought my camera card was split in half. So thank you to my technological savvy other half.

Also, I'm hosting an online Stella & Dot party!!!! You can check out my favorite pieces in this post and shop online HERE!

Friday Favorites: Stella & Dot

Momfessionals
I am so excited that today is Friday, and i'm looking forward to the weekend! We have a by-weekend, so DJ will get to be home all day on Saturday, and although we don't have big plans, I'm looking forward to a weekend of just the 5 of us!

Today I'm linking up with Andrea, Narci, and Erika for Friday Favorites!

Next week, I'm hosting a Stella & Dot party and I'm so pumped! I have never owned a piece of Stella & Dot, and after admiring it for so long, it's time that I had several pieces to my own jewelry collection!

I know, I'm sort of behind in the game.
#waybehind

I thought I'd share some of favorite pieces, all of which are on my wish-list!

I have admired the Kimberly necklace on Sheaffer's blog for the longest time. This is #1 on my wish list.
This necklace is stunning! I have a navy dress that NEEDS this necklace!
I have tons of silver understated necklace, but I've been wearing gold more and more. I need to add this monogrammed necklace to my collection.
I am in love with these Jade earrings. They're a steal at just $24.00! And they remind me of my Kendra Scott earrings.
I'm in love with chandelier earrings, and these can be worn as studs or with the drops!
I'm a sucker for bracelets, and by purchasing this one, I can also help support france cancer research!
I also love their Renegade bracelet, but I can't decide if I need, yes need, it in gold or silver.
#maybeboth

Which Stella & Dot pieces do you own? I'd love to know which ones y'all think I should get!

September 12- My mom is here and all is well with the world!
September 13- Time to watch the TU game!

And y'all, it was just sad.
September 14- The Welte girls all have a personality of their own.
September 15- Love having her at school with me every day.
September 16- 1st grade is exhausting.
