All Things Easter....

Easter is coming, and y'all, I'm SO not prepared this year! I only just now got out our Easter decorations, and I haven't even gone shopping for Easter basket goodies. Why does Easter have to be so early this year? I need more time to prepare. Maybe, today will be the inspiration I need to rally together and get it done :) 

I'm sharing the few Easter decorations I did put out, and some basket ideas for y'all! 

Our little corner nook in the kitchen has our Happy Everything plate. I love this little plate that we made one year. I added some paper flowers that I bought years ago from Target, a cute little Happy Easter sign, paper straws, bunny plates, and napkins. 

I found these napkins at the Target Dollar Spot, and grabbed two packs. We plan on staying home for Easter, and not having company, so I didn't see a need for having too many napkins, but wanted something fun for the girls. 

I love these paper flowers. 

Also, I'm obsessed with paper straws. They make me seriously so happy. 

I kept our dining room table simple, and added a pewter deviled egg tray, and a little wooden bunny that I found at Hobby Lobby years ago. I added a banner in the window, and that was it. I just didn't see a need in dragging out #alltheeaster 

The girls and I headed in to Target last week, and found this cute little selfie banner. I mean, they already give each other bunny ears with hands, they may as well have them for real. 

This year, my  mom bought each of the girls these eggs to die. I love that I won't have to buy real ones, and then spend time boiling them and letting them cool. Plus, we'll have these eggs for years to come! 

Now that the decorations are up, and eggs are dyed, it's time to fill baskets! Our girls have the same baskets they've had since they were babies. We set them out on Easter eve and the Easter bunny fills them with goodies. Thanks to several of y'all making suggestions on Facebook, I have an idea of what the bunny will be giving this year! 

Fun rainboots are always a hit. And, they're a perfect excuse for being able to jump in puddles and not get in trouble for it :) 

I took Gretchen to see The Greatest Showman, and she's obsessed. Frankly, so am I! I know she'd love receiving the soundtrack in her basket this year. 

We love Melissa & Doug for their high quality toys. This garden set would be so fun for Adalyn. 

The girls are in need of new outdoor chairs, and toys, and these Melissa and Doug toys would be adorable for Spring! 

I absolutely love the "God Gave Us" book series, this book would be perfect in Megan's basket, as she's really of the age to learn the true meaning of Easter. We also love this book for Easter. 

Gretchen loves baking, and I'll probably get her some baking mixes and baking supplies this year. This cookbook would be perfection. 

My mom always gave us a kite in our Easter basket, and I think our girls all need one!

Beauty Questions

Last week, I was reading Erika's blog and saw her link up with The Blended blog for their beauty edition, and I totally loved the idea of sharing this, even though I'm way late to the link up party! 

So, here we go.... my little beauty edition.

1. Eyelash Curler: Yes or No?

Nope. I use to use one, but now I really don't think I need one. I add a drop of cedarwood, lavender, and rosemary to my mascara, and I feel like my lashes have grown and are long with just mascara. Though I do want to get false ones put on one day just so I don't have to deal with them much! 

2. Favorite Nail Shade?

I don't polish my nails. They chip too easily, and I'm way too OCD to look at chipped nails, and I don't have time to get them done. I usually buy OPI polish though and I will paint my toes. Right now, I'm wearing a purple shade, but I tend to wear pinks in the spring and summer, a brown or deep red in the fall. 

3. Favorite Lipstick Shade?

I'm obsessed with "On a Whim" from Savvy Minerals, but I also love their lip gloss from the winter Savvy Minerals collection, Rockin. I usually wear the lip gloss if I need more color. 

4. Blow Dry or Air Dry Your Hair?

It totally depends on the day. If I wash my hair at night, then I'll go to bed with it wet, but if I have to wash it in the morning, then I'll blow dry my hair. I only wash my hair a few times a week, so I don't have to blow dry it often :) 

5. Artificial Nails: Yes Or No?

No. I don't have time for that! 

6. Foundation: Yes or No?

Absolutely! I love my Savvy Minerals foundation in Warm 2. 

In the summer, I wear a Warm 3 mixed with Dark 1. 

7. Hair Up or Hair Down?

Both. Now that I cut my hair, you'll mostly find it down. But, I often throw it in to a pony tail at the end of the day. And, on day 3 or 4 of dirty hair, then it's almost always up. And yes, I do miss the messy bun.

8. Bar Soap or Body Wash?

Soap. I found the best local shop that makes their own soap using Young Living essential oils. 

The girls and I are all obsessed with the soap. I usually take them in and we each pick one out, and they seriously last us forever! 

9. Bath or Shower?

Shower every day. Well, almost every day ;)

Baths are for mommy time outs! I love adding a few handfuls of oil infused epsom salts, (I make sure to buy unscented salts, and add my own oils) and a bath bomb from Young Living. 

10. Favorite Body Lotion?

I fell in love with the Acure brand several months ago. I love that it's rated super low on the Think Dirty app, and doesn't have harmful ingredients. 

11. Do you wear perfume? What's Your Favorite Scent?

I absolutely love the scent of Joy. It's a perfect floral combination that makes me happy! 

12. Do you shave your legs every day?

Absolutely. I can't stand stubble. 

13. Favorite Lip Balm?

Young Living has amazing lip balms. I'm currently obsessed with the Grapefruit. 

14. How old were you when you first started wearing make up?

I think I was in 7th grade. I was allowed to wear powder, blush, mascara, and lip gloss. I remember on my 14th birthday, that my mom took a few of my friends to Clinique and we all had makeovers there! I also remember my mom telling me I couldn't wear eye liner because I'd look like a hooker. I'm pretty sure those were her words :0

Zoo Day

Last Saturday, we had gorgeous weather! DJ's mom was in town and we were looking for something to do. So, we headed off to spend the day at the zoo. 

Last May we bought a season pass, and we haven't used it nearly often enough! 

Our first stop was the chimpanzees. 

When we first moved to Oklahoma, Gretchen was so tiny and now she barely fits in the chimpanzee outline. 

After seeing the chimpanzees we rode the train to the back of the zoo, and then worked our way forwards. 

We always love seeing the flamingos!

And then the girls compared themselves to length of a lion, cheetah, and jaguar! 

We climbed on hippos, and saw gigantic turtles.

And, then we ran in to our best little friends, and the girls were SO excited! They spent some time playing and climbing this gigantic rock, and then we headed off on our separate ways, since they had just seen what we were going to see and vice versa. 

We headed in to the rainforest, and took a moment to pose with some statues. The girls decided to pick this ones nose. 

And then they did their best impressions. 

We usually skip the rainforest, because it's a lot of open animals, and they use to have bats just hanging around in here. Thankfully, the bats are gone, and I'm not struggling to push a stroller through an area that I'm terrified in. Yes, I'm afraid of bats.

This leopard was  having his lunch! 

Once we made it back up front, we waited for a carousel ride. 

And we took a little selfie while the girls were riding, and man, it was nice to be able to let the girls ride while we sat and watched! 

We ended our trip in the new tiger area, and then headed out for lunch. 

And back home for popsicles and outside fun!
