29 weeks 3 days

At this point, I'm 29 weeks pregnant and I feel like I've stayed in the 20th weeks forever! So, you can imagine, that i'm counting down until Monday when I'll officially be in the 30s with only about 10 weeks left to go! The closest picture I could find from being pregnant with Gretchen at this point, was at 27 weeks with Gretchen (above)
And, here I am at 29 weeks with Megan, and yes, it's St. Patrick's day, so i'm obviously wearing green- I have to keep the kiddo pinches away while I'm at work today!
I had a doctor appointment on Tuesday, and since DJ is in town, he and Gretchen were both able to go. The doctor was great, and let Gretchen help find the heartbeat. I think she loved that part! Megan's heartbeat was around 151, and i'm measuring right on track. I've gained 30, yes, 30 pounds so far. Thankfully, I'm not as swollen as I was with Gretchen, but my wedding ring is no longer fitting, and my shoes are feeling tight. My ankles are slowly disappearing as well- but, only 10 more weeks!! "I can do this", or at least, i'm telling myself that I can.
Things going on with Megan this week:
~ Her brain is now controlling her breathing and body temperature.
~ She can cough, and she's had the hiccups (in fact, I woke up yesterday to her hiccuping!)
~ She's a little over 15 inches long- think, a loaf of bread.
~ Weighs about 3 pounds- at least I can blame 3 of my 30 pounds on her!
We should be inducing around the week of May 23rd, so DJ will be in town, and as much as I'd love to get this pregnancy part over with, I hope she doesn't come early, so he doesn't miss it!
Gretchen is still convinced that there is a baby in her belly. Her name is Caroline, although she's not quite sure why Caroline isn't growing, but tells me that Caroline does kick. Anytime, I tell Gretchen that Megan is kicking me, she immediately stops what she's doing, runs over, and says to my belly, 'Stop, baby Megan; that's not nice!" Since, Gretchen is so convinced that Caroline is real, she has told me that Megan would be a baby doll, and not Caroline. And yes, I've even considered changing Megan's middle name from Claire to Caroline, just to make Gretchen happy. I am not looking forward to her disappointment when there is only 1 baby!
To hopefully, keep Gretchen happy with her new little sister, we've decided that Gretchen would have a "Big Sister" party at the hospital; complete with their matching shirts and bows, cupcakes, balloons, and a gift for Gretchen!
