I did complete Week 3 Day 2 of the couch to 5 K program on Thanksgiving morning. I decided that running outside was much harder than running inside on a treadmill. So, I think this spring, i'll move my running program outside.
My eating has also had ups and downs. Thanksgiving day wasn't so bad. I know I had the usual, but I didn't stuff myself, and only had 1 piece of pie.
The day after was not great. We were traveling to Branson, and the day just started off bad because we grabbed a quick breakfast at McDonald's. I hate that place. I hate their breakfast. I hate that I eat there. G ate the egg, so I ate a little bit of the biscuit and sausage, and about 1/2 of the hash brown. We were shopping during lunch time, and I wasn't sure what there was to eat, so we grabbed ice cream. Fail. I tried to do better at dinner and ordered a turkey wrap with fruit. But the fruit was soggy apples, so I opted for a few crisp fries.
I made it a point to eat a salad for lunch the next day, but I also had pizza, cake, and ice cream that evening for dinner.
On a bright side- I did shop for three day straight, and I was either carrying a baby or pushing a stroller- so can that count as my exercise?
I'm playing catch up at work this week. We lost Monday, because we were driving home. I also started my position with the home health agency, and I've had 5 patients to evaluate in 4 days, as well as trying to get in all of my preschool kiddos. Needless to say, I'm swamped and exhausted. I have not made it to the gym. The last two days I've had oatmeal for breakfast. I've also had Subway twice this week. I've tried to increase my water intake, but I also defrosted some chocolate chip banana bread which is cramping my style.
Next week, I should be more organized with the home health agency job, and know what patients will be on my case load. I only plan on working with them two days a week, which will put me at 2 half days, and 3 full days a week. So, on those two half days, I will be going to the gym.
I'd love to know how you stay motivated when you get overwhelmed with other responsibilities. Please share your tips!
