For today's What I Wore Wednesday, I'm ditching the clothes and talking about hair!
I'll be linking up with a few of my favorite bloggers too!
Let's head down to memory lane, and look at some of my hair hits (but mostly misses!)
This is a horrible picture, but when DJ and I first met, my hair was shoulder length.
I tried to grow it out before our wedding, but this was about as long as it got! (This was us on our honeymoon- at a football bowl game!)
When I was pregnant with Gretchen, my hormones took over and I chopped my hair. Word to the wise- never, ever chop you're hair when you're pregnant!
It was still short when she turned a year old.
It got longer as she got older, and I also grew out my bangs.

When Meggie was a year old, I got bangs again and kept my hair about shoulder length.
That summer, I chopped it off again.
Then, I let it grow out.
And then I cut it a bit shorter at shoulder length.
I've kept my bangs for the last several years.
These photos are a bit more current! I wear my bangs either to the side or in the front. My hair is just past my shoulders.
At the moment I'm wanting to cut my hair off again, but I also love being able to put my hair in a ponytail or a messy bun!
I have several hair style inspirations on Pinterest that you can check out
here.
I'm currently loving this hair style, but I am not quite sure I want to go short again, plus, my hair is thick!
I made a widget of the only hair products I use!
I'm pretty low key when it comes to hair care. I have always used Suave shampoo and conditioner. My hair is pretty shiny; I've always gotten compliments from hair dressers and they're always shocked when I tell them I use Suave!
I've also never colored my hair. Now, back in junior high, I used Sun In, and in college I had highlights one time by a hair dresser. Other than that, I've never colored my hair. That will all change as soon as I start noticing some grays!
I wash my hair every other day. On dirty days, I use Herbel Essences dry shampoo.
Once I get out of the shower (I take my shower in the mornings), I wrap my hair in a towel while I put on my make up. Then, I brush it out and blow dry it. I don't use a round brush or anything special while I'm drying my hair.
Once my hair is dry, I use my Chi straightener and run it through my hair.
My hair dresser recommended the powder puff to help give my hair a bit more volume. Since I'm a southern girl, I live by two hair rules.
1. "Jack it to Jesus."
2. "Just make it look like a brown football helmet."
Bonus points if you know where that 2nd quote came from!
I lift my hair at the routes and sprinkle on a little powder puff. Tease it and style. Throughout the day, if my hair looses volume, I can tease the roots with my fingers, and the powder puff reactivates and my hair pouff reappears. This is pretty amazing stuff folks!
Finally, I spray my hair and I'm good to go!
I'd love for you to share a few of your favorite hair products! Leave me a comment below letting me know what you love! Can't wait to read them all!

ReplyDeleteI swear by Moroccan oil. Love it!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou have beautiful hair like your mom.
ReplyDeleteI love your hair! I need to try that powder puff. I use powder play by Big Sexy Hair because it works but I hate the way it makes my hair feel. I will have to check out the one you suggested!!
ReplyDeleteYour hair was so cute in all of those different styles! I've been growing mine out but once my wedding has passed I'm planning on cutting it into a lob (aka long bob). You just made me want to even more!
