What's Up Wednesday

Happy last Wednesday of October! Today is pajama day at school for Red Ribbon Week, and I've been looking forward to it for the entire year! Seriously. #teacherproblems

Today I'm linking up with The Larson Ling, Pinterest Told Me To, and Mix and Match Family for What's Up Wednesday!

What We're Eating This Week:
Monday: Left Overs- We went out to eat twice this weekend, so we're cleaning out the fridge, and eating anything left in it!
Tuesday: We get home late from dance, so the plan is to have a chicken taco soup!
Wednesday: Chicken Flatbread w/ Roma tomoatoes
Thursday: Another late night from dance, so whatever left overs are in the fridge or whatever the girls can come up with.
Friday: We'll be headed out of town for a little trip, so we'll pick something up on our way out of town!

Our meal plans are pretty pathetic during football season. Since we have dance twice a week, I don't cook on those nights, and since DJ eats at the football office and gets home way after dinner time, I really don't cook. I think last week, I cooked two REAL meals, like actually broke out the pots and pans and used them all! And that hasn't happened in a very long time!

What I'm Reminiscing About:
This photo came across my timehop app this week, and it just made me miss all things baby. I loved when the girls could just wear cozy pajamas all day. I also miss coming home and snuggling up on the sofa with a baby in my arms. Those days are long gone, and those days were hard, but I miss the sweet snuggles and baby smells.

This also came across my timehop this week. When we had our family photos taken three years ago, I had no idea I was a few weeks pregnant. The day that our photographer came over to show us the photographs, was the day that I had found out I was pregnant with Adalyn. I will never forget that day and all of the emotions I had. I remember my first thoughts, telling DJ, his reaction, and then telling my mom on the phone on my way to work that day. So, in the picture above, Addy was already in our family.

What I'm Loving:
I diffused this combination for the first time ever this weekend, and my oh my. It is heaven. These essential oils are the best combination for a fall smell! Between the clove essential oil in the Thieves blend, and adding the orange. My house smelled lovely, and without the toxic chemicals in candles. Seriously, do yourself a favor and research candles a bit. I bet you won't be loving your bath and body works anymore.
I recently downloaded the Think Dirty app. If you have an iPhone, I highly recommend this app! A few weeks ago, I had an entire day to go shopping by myself. I went to Ulta and scanned make up products for toxins. I settled on the Tarte Tinted Moisturizer. I'm using it as a foundation, applying loose powder, and I'm good to go!

I also scanned all sorts of products at Target and found a new bath gel and shave gel that I am loving!!! And, they're low on toxins! Win Win!

What We've Been Up To:
Football. Lots and lots of football games! This past week we sat outside in the bleachers for the first time ever. I was so excited to see one of our friends there, and she was able to sit with us and help me out with the girls. We always sit inside in the family suite, but since it was homecoming, our suite was given to donors/alumni, so we sat outside. Thankfully, the girls did pretty well, until the middle of the 4th quarter, and by that point, it was well past ten and we were all tired! But, it's fall, so football is at the forefront of our lives right now!

What I'm Dreading...
This weekend, we're heading to Dallas for the TU/SMU game. I'm sort of dreading the drive with the three girls, and I'm dreading sitting outside yet again, and on top of that, I promised the girls they could wear their Halloween costumes to the game. There's a chance of rain in the forecast, and I'm just afraid the whole day might be a bust.

What I'm Working On...
Um, I'll tell you what I need to be working on. I have a handful of HPA orders that I need to get wrapped up. This fall has been rough and my time has been very limited. I really am trying to focus on family and my girls, which has put HPA on the back burner. I really have toyed with the decision of closing down shop, but I have got to get motivated to pushing out the last few orders that I do have. I know I will be taking a break from it for a while, and I'm not sure how that will last. It's something that I love, but it's also something that I can't give 100% to right now, and it kills me. That being said, my goal is to have everything completed by mid-November and shipped out with some extra goodies inside.

What I'm Excited About...
Next weekend, DJ's mom is coming! We're super excited to see her since we haven't seen her since this summer! My sister, niece, and nephew are also planning on coming up, so we're going to have a full house! It's going to be fun chaos, and I'm super excited to see everyone!

What I'm Watching/Reading:
On Monday nights, we tune in to Big Bang Theory. We've been watching this show for years, and it's still one of my favorites!
On Wednesday's it's Nashville. I love everything about this show! I hate that Hayden's character is struggling right now, but it mimics what she's going through in real life and I will be saddened if they kill off her character. When I was writing this post, I googled her future on the show and it looks like they're adapting to her being in the treatment facility for PPD right now, so I'm hoping her character on the show will go through the same thing, and once she is feeling back to herself, she and Avery will be able to reconcile and get back together. Yes. I am that invested in this show.
On Thursday's, it's all about Grey's Anatomy. I am really loving this season. We've watched every season since it first came on the air, and I just can't get enough. Life might end when they cancel this show.
And, I just got in to Scandal. DJ has been watching it for the past few seasons, and I've sat and watched it with him but I never really got in to the shows until the end of last season. Now that her affair is out in the open, I'm totally loving this show.

What I'm Listening To....
My mind is totally drawing a blank right now. When I was running, I was totally tuned in to Taylor Swift on Pandora, or Pitch Perfect radio, or 80s.... my music tastes are totally eclectic and I may have begged DJ for REO Speedwagon tickets recently.

What I'm Wearing...
I recently bought this dress from Gap, and I love how comfy it is. I wore it on our wives trip a few weeks ago, and to work. It's just the perfect fall dress.
And, I'm wearing this a lot. My go to is booties, rolled up jeans, a comfy tee, and an oversized wrap or sweater. Anything that I can just wrap up in and feel comfortable.

What I'm Doing This Weekend:
Driving to Dallas
Spending Saturday morning at the Rough Riders event
Spending Saturday afternoon at the TU/SMU game
And spending Saturday evening trick-or-treating with the girls!
Sunday, we'll be heading home!

What I'm Looking Forward To Next Month....
It's our last month of football, and I'm very anxious to see how the season will finish out. We are currently 3-4 in the season, and we need 4 more wins to finish out strong.
I'm also looking forward to our annual Thanksgiving trip to my mom's house and our girls getaway weekend to Branson.
I love being able to take the girls on our annual trip every year! We visit Santa, shop, and maybe this year we'll head back to Silver Dollar City!

What Else Is New.....
Really, I think I about covered it! Like, I cannot think of one single thing I might have left out!

My Favorite Thanksgiving Recipe....
Um, I really do not cook on Thanksgiving! That's why we always head to my mom's house! It totally gives me the excuse of "traveling" so we can't cook! LOL! But, a Thanksgiving isn't complete without Sweet Potatoes covered in marshmallows, Green Bean Casserole, and Pumpkin Pie! My mouth is watering already!

Weekend Wrap-Up: Football & Fall

Our weekend was crazy busy, but we squeezed in so much fun that I'd repeat it all over again.
Thursday evening we came home from dance and just crashed. We cuddled and watched some t.v.
We took some silly selfies.
And then we played a serious game of checkers.

After school on Friday, I rounded up the big girls and we headed home to get ready for the TU game that night. After we changed clothes, grabbed our game gear, we headed to pick up Adalyn from daycare.
Of course, Megan fell asleep on the way to the game.

We actually arrived earlier than I thought we would, so we headed inside to the offices, saw DJ, and then found our place in the stands.
These girls were ready to watch the game!
We typically watch the game from inside the offices. We have a family suite that we're able to use during the games. I have an end zone window view, and the girls play in the back of the room. They were really excited about sitting outside and actually being able to see all of the festivities that go on before the games. I however, was a bit anxious about how they'd do in the stands. Handling three children in an unconfined space terrifies me, but we took one for the team.
I brought the Ergo for Adalyn, and Gretchen and Megan did really well once they had food to keep them entertained! We also had a friend whose husband was working the game, so she sat with us and helped me wrangle the girls.
The team was running out, and I pointed out their daddy to them.

We spent the next four hours cheering on the Hurricane as they took on the undefeated Memphis. Our team played their hearts out. They fought so hard. DJ asked why we ended up staying so late and I told him because the game was so good!

We didn't make it home until 11, so it was a very late night!

Since we played on Friday, DJ was off on Sunday, so we made it a family day. We squeezed in all the fall that we possibly could!
We took the girls to the pumpkin patch and fed all of the animals.
Adalyn wasn't so sure about letting the goat eat out of her hand.

The girls loved seeing the sheep.
This guy was extra friendly!
And hungry too!
After we fed the animals, we went over to let the girls ride the pony's.
Gretchen waiting patiently for her turn!
She loves riding the pony's at the pumpkin patch.
And this was the first year that Megan rode all by herself!
We tried to put Adalyn on, but she was not having it.
After their pony rides, we went on the hay ride.
And then we headed over to find the perfect pumpkin.
And took advantage of a few photo ops around the pumpkin patch.
And we ran around a lot!

On the way home we ordered pizza. As soon as we got home, I changed in to comfy clothes, fixed myself some pizza and curled up on the couch to some football games.
After our late lunch, we let the girls do some painting.

Once our paint was dry, the girls drew jack-o-lantern faces on their pumpkins.
Gretchen decided her pumpkin needed hair and freckles. Lots of freckles.

And then it was pumpkin carving time.
Gretchen ended up choosing one of the biggest pumpkins she could find.
We chose a small pumpkin for Adalyn.
And Megan chose a middle size pumpkin.
It was a team effort to scoop out the pumpkin seeds of the gigantic pumpkin.
And as always, the girls loved playing in all of the "pumpkin guts"
I don't think I've seen so many pumpkin guts! Gretchen was begging us to cook the seeds, but the last time we tried it was a huge failure. So we told her it was a no go.
Addy wasn't too sure about all of the guts, but she was sure about cheesing big time for the camera.
And DJ helped Megan scoop out all of her pumpkin's guts.

As DJ carved the jack o lanterns, I sliced apples for the girls and gave them caramel dip.
Adalyn went to town on the caramel.

These girls loved their caramel dip!
DJ also spent Saturday afternoon working on our gallery wall in the dining room. I absolutely love how it turned out! And, I've only been waiting since August for him to get this done. #footballseasonproblems
Sunday morning we stayed home and worked on laundry, and then I headed out to Southern Hills for a brunch with the football wives, and some amazing university supporters. We've had this brunch every year, and I look forward to it yearly. Being around the supports, and women that understand what I go through every single day, well, it's just the best.

That afternoon I came home, and worked on more laundry, while the big girls were in the kitchen.
They were creating some yummy dinner for our guests arriving later that night!

My cousin, and her twins were heading up Sunday afternoon so they could attend a college tour day at TU on Monday, and it was my cousins birthday, so the girls figured they needed to make her something to celebrate!

We headed out to dinner at Los Cabos and came home for some games and cupcakes!
I had to share this little oil combo because I diffused it Sunday afternoon and it gave my house the most delicious Fall smell!
