Friday Favorites

Happy Friday!!!!

This week has been a pretty good one! Last week about killed me, trying to get back in to the swing of things after being in Salt Lake City, and then last weekend, we were a bit under the weather. I was determined that this week would be better, and it has been!
I'm linking up today with Andrea, Erika, and Narci for Friday Favorites.

In true Friday form, I have a random list of Favorites for y'all today!

First up, how cute is this tee from Shop Tailgate?!
Tis the season for Pumpkin Spice everything!

I'm not a coffee drinker, but give me pumpkin spice M&M's, (yes, they're a thing), pumpkin bread, muffins, and all the pumpkin scents. Put pumpkin on a graphic tee, and you're basically speaking my love language.

You can grab this tee or anything else at Shop Tailgate, and save 10% by using the code ELAINEW.
Since I work, I don't often get time alone, so sometimes, I like to sneak out of the office and grab lunch. A smoothie usually does the trick, and I pump myself up by listening to some fun tunes in the car. Getting fresh air and a break, is possibly my Favorite way to refresh myself during a busy day.
Check out this puzzle! Definitely not my favorite- ha! My cousin brought this to the girls back in August, and we just finished it last week when my mother-in-law was in town! It's been on our dining room table for weeks, and we would randomly pop in a few pieces, but there are so many pieces that are the exact color or design, so this one was tricky! We finally sat down last Monday night after the girls went to bed and finished this puzzle!
Last week, I broke out the Fall decor! It definitely hasn't felt like Fall, but I was ready for festive decor. Next week, I'll be sharing a Fall House Tour!
Bubbles.... lots of Bubbles... they're our favorite!
Gretchen was at a sleepover last weekend, so we let Megan and Adalyn watch t.v. in our bed. Eventually, Addy fell asleep, in our bed. I sure do love snuggling with this girl. I'm still shocked that she's four and babies don't keep. Where on Earth has the time gone???
I picked up this nail polish from Target a few weeks ago, and it's super fun for Fall! I never paint my nails (they chip too easily) but I always keep my toes painted! The color is It's a Piazza Cake for anyone looking for a Fall polish!
This girl has started 4th grade this year, and she just loves school! She is comfortable and confident in herself and I just love that about her. Earlier this week, she had library, and then her class was suppose to have "book buddies" where they read to the kindergartners, so she dressed the part in her "Books Make Me Happy" shirt. I had several people ask on Instagram where her shirt is from, and I believe that it's Old Navy, but it may be from Osh Kosh too.
I love having recess duty with Megan, and she's constantly tumbling all over the place. She's learned to do the splits, and then this week, she did a hand stand, and lifted her hands off the ground. She balanced for a few seconds on the concrete and with the wall, and would get up and do it all over again. Ouch!
A shot of Nitro is one of my favorite ways to help get me through a crazy busy night.....
Wednesday morning, I had a meeting at school, so the girls played in my office. Megan ended up drawing on the white board, sticking index cards all over the walls and furniture, and making a video with my phone. I guess Gretchen was just reading the entire time. Reading is her favorite.
I've been wearing my Savvy Minerals make up, and while the application was a learning process at first, I'm loving it more and more!
And, I came across this meme earlier this week, and LOL'd. This is so me! I hate hair washing days! Anyone else?

Whew! That's a long list of Friday Favorites for y'all!!!!

See y'all back here sometime next week :)

Reign Cane: Cheer Clinic Gameday

Tulsa played our 2nd home game of the season this past weekend, and we were up and ready to cheer on our favorite team!
My cousin came up for the weekend to go to the game with us! Her son is a freshman at TU, and is working with DJ in the video department. Our boys work the game, we watch the game :)

We joined the other wives for the end of the tailgate, and then we made our way inside.
Once we grabbed our drinks, we made our way to our seats, and Addy Pearl was ready to cheer on the team.
Eventually, she decided to take a break and do some reading. She was so proud of herself for packing a little toy bag to bring along with her.

Kickoff was at 12:30, so it was HOT outside! We did our best to stay cool despite the heat. Lots of Gatorade, lots of water, and lots of air conditioning :)
At half time, the girls performed with the TU pom squad. Earlier in the week, they had attended a clinic to learn a dance and cheer. Gretchen and Megan were super in to it, but Adalyn gave up half way through the clinic, and since it was so hot at the game (and she was tired), I didn't really think she would go out on the field... but, she did! A sweet pom girl found her and walked her out, and Adalyn did most of the dance and tried to follow along when she didn't know the rest.
DJ came down to watch the girls performance, and we snapped a quick picture before heading back to our seats. The girls look forward the the clinic every year, and are already talking about the next one!

And for fun, here's their performance!
As far as the game goes, it sure was a nail biter! We ended up loosing by a field goal with two seconds left in the 4th quarter :(

This weekend, we are playing Navy at home, and it's sure to be another great game!

Life Lately

Life Lately has been crazy busy. After my Salt Lake trip, I felt like I came home to a million and one different things to do. Jet lag finally settled in, but I had to be at work, the girls had activities, and life had to go on.
DJ's mom flew in to keep the girls while I was in Salt Lake. DJ also had an away football game at Toledo, so we were thankful that she was willing to make the trip to stay with the girls! They don't see their Nana often enough, but she sure did spoil them while they were here! She joined us Monday after school for all of their activities, and then we headed to the Rose District for dinner.
Tuesday night, all of the girls participated in the TU pom clinic. Gretchen and Megan had a blast, and about half way in, Adalyn was over it. She just preferred to be running around on the field rather than paying attention! She would sit with me for a while, and then go back on the field, dance, and then run, and then repeat the cycle over again.

All of the pom clinic girls :)
Wednesday afternoon, I decided that we just needed to be home. I put on comfy clothes and laid down with Adalyn on the couch and watched Elena.
Cuddles after a weekend away, did me some good.
And check out this fun shirt! We were able to choose a shirt from the Silver Retreat, and I picked this one :)
Megan joined us in our room about 4 am on Friday morning, and an hour later, we discovered she had a 101 temperature. I oiled her up, and later got ready for work. Thankfully, DJ doesn't have to be in until noon on Fridays, so he stayed home with her and took her to the doctor (viral infection due to allergies) and by that afternoon she was much better! Her fever broke within a few hours of coming down with one, and she was crazy hyper. I met DJ to pick her up, and drove through CFA for a salad. I had gift cards for a free cookie, so I bought her a cookie, and then we headed to the grocery store for a few things.... when you're a working mom, you have to take advantage of any time you have to be productive. And, since I knew that her infection was just due to allergies, I felt safe in taking her to the store :)

After last week, we're finally starting to return to normal! It was good being gone but crazy trying to catch up once I was home again!

Salt Lake City: Training Day

Last week, I recapped my 1st day in Salt Lake, and our day at the farm. Today, I'm recapping our training day, which let's be honest, it doesn't appear to be much fun when you're sitting in classes all day! But, Young Living, made it tons of fun! Can anyone say dancing and free oils! Yes, ma'am.
Cathy and I were ready to start our morning session! Doing this trip with this girl, made it 1000% better than it would've been on my own.
We talked about Seed to Seal, the Young Living Foundation and it's amazing works, and about the international offices of Young Living. And, like I said, there was dancing and free oils!

The retreat provided lunch, but Cathy and I decided some fresh air and a break was in order. So, we headed to Blue Lemon for lunch. The food was perfection. We slowly walked back toward the convention center, and found some fun sculptures and scenery along the way.

I absolutely love seeing these little streams throughout the city. It makes me long to live in an outdoorsy town, and to be able to get out and walk to the nearest convenient shop. But, I sure do like my suburban living too :)
After the afternoon training sessions, 2,000 people crammed in to the lobby at the convention center. I ran in to this sweet girl who follows me on Instagram! It was so fun connecting with her!
Trying to get a photo of 2000 leaders together cannot be an easy task. And, doing so on this lift. We were all chatting, and the photographer would motion for us to be silent, and it worked! He had some sort of magical power over all of us to be quiet! Ha!
After our photo session, we headed back up stairs to view the Savvy Minerals cosmetics line that Young Living just released this summer. I have been using it since July and I'm in love. It's definitely been a little bit of a learning curve, but I love, love, love the blush, bronzer, eyeshadows, and lipsticks!
We headed back to our hotel to rest up for dinner, and stopped outside of the convention center....... there are a ton of road signs right outside, and this one was my favorite. You can either Believe in yourself and your journey, or you doubt yourself and the journey. Never Doubt. Make the choice to Believe.
We rested at the hotel for an hour or so, and I watched the TU game on my phone ;) Dedicated wife right here y'all. And, then I did a little freshening up for dinner. I had planned to change clothes, but was happy with what I had on, so I threw my hair up, grabbed my scarf and we were ready to hit the road.
Cathy and I found a fun little bar for dinner, and then headed back to the convention center for some karaoke. And y'all, some of those people had some pipes! There was a real band, that could basically play anything, and all the Ningxia we could drink!

It was also around this time that my phone was beginning to die, because my priorities had been on watching the TU game that night.
Sunday morning came bright and early. I skipped a shower, threw on some yoga pants, my hat, and caught my flight home.
I slept most of my first flight, and awoke just in time to see this out my window as we were beginning to descent in to Denver. I just couldn't get over God's beauty. And look at the snow!!!
When I got home, I squeezed my girls and started unpacking, because Monday. But, look at all these freebies that were given to us! A few of my favorite oils :) We were also hooked up with some books, t-shirts, a killer backpack, and more fun things!

The Silver Retreat was fantastic! I came back feeling refreshed and excited to do some things different for my business, and even more inspired to share essential oils with everyone!

I earned this trip for achieving the rank of Silver with Young Living, and being able to maintain the rank for three consecutive months. The average monthly income at Silver level is 2500.00. Salt Lake City: Farm Day

Day 2 in Salt Lake started bright and early! Even though, Salt Lake is an hour behind, I always find myself waking up early, and Friday was no exception. I was up before 6, and knew it would be a perfect morning to get a workout in.
I headed to the hotel gym and did a full circuit of the elliptical, weights, and some abs, before heading to breakfast.
Breakfast was amazing! I loaded up on protein and fruit, and that apple sausage was to die for.

After breakfast, I headed back to my room to shower and get ready for farm day!

Young Living provided buses, but Cathy and I happened to know someone that had driven, and since the weather was less than spectacular, we asked if we could ride to the farm with them. (That way, we could leave earlier than the buses, should we be cold and soaked!) As we were leaving, I realized that Salt Lake isn't quite prepared for rain. The streets were FLOODED, and cars were driving like it was no big deal. After a trip to Starbucks and a potty break, we arrived at the farm just in time to head to the tent where Young Living's CEO, and the founder were scheduled to speak.
I absolutely loved getting to hear the hearts of Mary and Gary Young. I never doubted that I was a part of the best company, but hearing them, their faith, their prayers and love, I was 100% reassured that this company is nothing short of amazing.
The rain continued to fall as Gary and Mary finished speaking and were whisked away.

After they spoke, it was time for lunch, and we just so happened to be in the tent where lunch was being served.
Lunch was amazing and I totally forgot to snap a photo of it, but think chicken and corn and salad, veggies, and a yummy little shortcake for dessert. And, Lavender Lemonade- yum!!!

After lunch, the rain began to slow down and eventually go away- yay!
Cathy and I ventured over to see the horses at the farm. Young Living's horses are some of the most beautiful I've seen. As we were snapping this picture, we could hear the horse behind us, and then realized he was eating Cathy's poncho!
I had to turn and pull it out of his mouth so she could escape! I'm pretty sure he would've eaten the entire poncho off her! We died laughing! And we were able to tell the stable hands what had happened, just in case the horse got sick!
The clouds were finally beginning to lift off the mountain tops.
We made our way over to the distillery, where they were distilling Juniper.
Seeing this process first hand was amazing. I just can't even describe it.

After visiting the distillery, we visited the bottling room, and saw how they filled bottles with the oils. I took video on Instagram, but didn't even get a picture!
Then we headed out to the fields. And y'all. It was muddy. Like, sink your feet in to the mud and get stuck kind of muddy. So, we didn't stay in the fields long, and I was thankful I had been there in June.
We then visited the Green houses, where Lavender was being grown, and dried for the seeds.

This was the warmest I was during the entire day!
We washed our boots and shoes off in the stream! And then explored the views of the farm.

It finally began to warm up a bit in the afternoon!

And you guys, I was so excited to spend the day with Cathy and our other Young Living friends exploring the farm. This is what sets Young Living apart from every single essential oil company. They own their own farms, have high expectations and standards for partner farms, distill their own oils, bottle them, scientifically test them, and has their oils scientifically tested by a 3rd party. If any part of the oil does not pass the scientific tests, the bath is thrown out and not used! Young Living uses first distillation which means you're getting the purest form of essential oil there is. You're not going to find that at Wal-Mart, my friends.
When we arrived back in our rooms, we found a bottle of Juniper with a Silver Retreat label for us! This is what they were distilling at the farm!!!

We were so spoiled!
