It's been a long while since I've shared what we're watching... and honestly, this is more what I'm watching because lately, DJ and I haven't had much time to sit down together to enjoy a show (other than Grey's Anatomy). I'm so exhausted by the end of the day that I want to crawl in bed, and usually watch a DVR'd show, before calling it a night. So, really, this is just what I've been watching ;) DJ is much more of a night owl than myself.
First up, American Idol.
I'm so glad this show came back on TV. At first, I wasn't too sure about the judges, but I'm absolutely loving seeing Katy Perry in this element. It's so different, and I feel like American has really gotten to see her as a person.
This season, the judges aren't offering the criticism that Simon Powell use to offer. It's a breath of fresh air.
And, the final 5 is amazing!!! I can definitely see 4 of the 5 of them as big future stars.
If you're watching- who's your favorite?
Roseanne.
Yup, I'm watching it. I remember watching Roseanne as a kid, and quite frankly, I'm not sure why my mom let me watch it. Maybe, I just watched it and she didn't know about it. But, it's been kind of fun to see the updated version.
And, it's kind of mindless t.v, which I enjoy watching shows where I don't have to think.
I started watching The Crown months ago, and I'm slowly making my way through it. I'm only on season 2, but it's kind of hard to follow. It's been very interesting to see the dynamic between Queen Elizabeth and Philip, and frankly, I feel sorry for him as a character in the show. I can't imagine how hard it was for him to transition to his wife being the Queen, not being able to give his family his last name, and to give up all control over his life.
The Crown gives you a glimpse in to the early days of Queen Elizabeth, but, like I said, it's hard to follow, so I really have to be in the mood to watch this, so I don't miss anything.
I found this documentary on Netflix, and since I was feeling sorry for Prince Philip, I wanted to watch it to learn more about him. It's definitely interesting, how manipulating people can be to get the political powers that they desire.
And, because apparently, I'm in to all things British History, I started to watch The Young Victoria a few nights ago. I only made it halfway through, so I still need to finish it, but it's been a good movie!
Since Summer is approaching, I need some Netflix suggestions!
I've watched Reign (which I still highly recommend) and Parenthood. But, I need a new series! And, one that probably isn't inspired by England! Ha!
