Well, we are less than a week away from our girls starting back to school! We've bought new backpacks, lunch boxes, shoes, and school supplies. We are ready!
But wait! There's one more supply we need that most mom's don't typically think of!
Going back to school with our health in mind.
Four years ago, I bought a starter kit of oils, because my kids needed to stay healthy. They were sick all the time. I was taking personal, sick, and unpaid days off to be home with my sick kids. After two consecutive school years of taking off more days than I actually had, I bought the oils from a friend and hoped for the best.
And friends, they worked!
The last two years my kids have been healthier than ever, and last school year, they all had zero sick days and perfect attendance! I never thought we would see a school year that that would happen.
Here's a quick run down of a few of our favorite oils in the starter kit and how we use it.
Lavender- put a few drops in your child's diffuser at night to help them sleep
Valor- apply to a diffuser bracelet or on the wrists the day of a big test or to help them with first day jitters
Peace & Calming- another oil we love for a good night's sleep
Thieves Vitality- the oil that made me buy our kit ;) This one is great for supporting your child's immune system
Lemon Vitality- another great one for supporting overall health and wellness
Frankincense- supports overall health and calms the mind and spirit
Raven- supports healthy breathing during the Fall, Winter, and Summer
DiGize- supports the tummy and helps proper digestion
Stress Away- for us moms or the teachers, because life is stressful!

MightyPro- a kids pre and probiotic supplement that tastes like candy
Elderberry Syrup/Gummies- the girls take these every day during cold & flu season
Ningxia Red- an antioxidant drink made with wolfberries
Friends, when I first started using Young Living, I wanted healthy kids. Over time, I became empowered the more I learned about the products we were using in our home and how many of the products I trusted were endocrine system disruptors, and how food was negatively impacting my kids behaviors (red dye for example) Over time, we made lifestyle changes to the products we were bringing in to our home. It became more and more important for my kids to eat real, fresh foods. Gone were the days of sugary cereals, high fructose corn syrup, and artificial dyes in our food. We stopped using cleaners that gave us headaches, and we stopped pouring shampoos and body products containing fragrance, phthalates, and other harmful chemicals on to our bodies. I won't claim that essential oils alone caused my kids to be healthier, but because of them, I empowered myself to question and learn and make changes.
