Last week DJ and I celebrated 15 years of marriage!
The girls surprised us with breakfast in bed that morning.
They made us toast and scrambled eggs.
After breakfast, DJ headed to work and it was time for us to go see Santa!
We always go to Bass Pro since you get a free picture ;) and the girls were excited to see Santa this year. I asked Gretchen when she'd be too big to see Santa and she told me that it makes the little girls and me happy, so she guesses she'll do it forever. #sweetie
The girls told Santa all that they wanted, we snapped a photo and headed to eat lunch at Hat Creek.
Friday morning, Adalyn had a dentist appointment, since she couldn't eat before her filling, our elves pulled out a huge coloring activity for the girls. This was perfect to take her mind off of her appointment.
Afterwards, I met Adalyn and DJ for ice cream, and a trip to Target so Adalyn could pick out a little toy for herself. This girl hates the dentist, so I'll do anything when she has a successful appointment!
Friday night, DJ and I headed to Georgetown to eat dinner and walk around. Their downtown is gorgeous and all lit up for the holidays.
The margaritas weren't so bad either.
And DJ and I shared creme brulee for dessert.
And then to end our anniversary celebration, we watched Megan in gymnastics!
We woke up to rainy weather on Saturday, so Megan and Adalyn declared it a pj day. The elves brought us a gingerbread house so we had fun putting it together.
This year was perfect, because after I put the house together, the girls did all of the decorating themselves!
They may or may not have stolen some candy too.
But, they were all smiles.
DJ was home on Saturday so we spent the rest of the day watching championship games and wrapping Christmas presents.
DJ went to work on Sunday to prepare for our bowl game, the little girls played with neighbors and Gretchen and I baked all day.
Around lunch time, I called the little girls in to help ice the sugar cookies.
We typically make chocolate chip cookies on Christmas Eve and buy sugar cookies for our pj & light night, but I wasn't finding myself out and about so we opted to make the cookies for our Christmas light night tour.
And they turned out so cute!
Who knows, maybe we just started a new tradition. We had Christmas trees, Gingerbread people, snowflakes, snowmen, and the grinch. We may have had a few zombies too.
After we iced the cookies, Gretchen helped make buckeyes and we made chocolate covered potato chips.
Once DJ came home on Sunday evening, we put on pj's and headed out for a Christmas light tour.
We had giggles, hot cocoa, and cookies, which made for the perfect evening.
