We had such a fun Easter weekend, that I had to write two re-caps in stead of just one! If you missed part one, you can click here to read it! Today, I'm sharing part 2 and our Easter day!
Adalyn was sick with a tummy bug the day before Easter, and started running a little fever the night before. She wanted me in bed with her, and kicked DJ out of the bed for the night. It made playing Easter Bunny a little harder! Thankfully, everything was bagged up and ready to go and I had taken pictures of what each girl would get, so DJ was able to set everything up!
All the Easter Bunny goodies.
Gretchen received a new purse, umbrella, some hair clips, a gratitude journal, and candy.
Megan got a frisbee, thermos, skip it, gel pens, a squishy, scrunchies, and a big squishmallow.
Adalyn received a frisbee, new water bottle, headbands, a little squishmallow, and a new soccer goal that she's been begging for!
Gretchen asked for a book to be pre-ordered for her, and the receipt to be in her Easter basket! It doesn't come out until November, and she insisted she didn't want to wait for Christmas!
Since Adalyn hadn't been feeling great, we opted to keep her home, so DJ took the big girls off to church and Adalyn and I watched the service at home.
I sent the girls off and went to snuggle this cutie before going to clean the house.
While the service was going, Adalyn helped me set up a kid-cuterie board with lots of yummy Easter treats!
I mixed Annie's bunny crackers together, bunny marshmallows, and egg shaped M&M's
Yum Earth Giggles candy.
We also had chocolate covered pretzels, chocolate bunnies, and edible grass.
Adalyn felt much much better after lunch. She even decided to put on her Easter dress and typical Megan changed out of hers as soon as she got home.
Easter egg hunt in the backyard.
We hid the girls dyed eggs, but we also hid them each eggs in their own individual colors with money inside.
After the egg hunt, I put my phone down and we got busy cooking Easter dinner. DJ smoked pork tenderloin. We also had asparagus wrapped in bacon, au gratin potatoes, and green beans. We had a ton of desserts too and hosted his aunt and a group of staff from football.
Easter day turned out to be wonderful, and I was certain it would be ruined, but so thankful it turned out well!
Hope you and your family had a blessed Easter day!
