This weekend my mom and her BFF came to town. They've been friends for over 30 years and do life together big.
Once they arrived, we took them downtown to eat dinner at a local restaurant, and we stopped for a photo in one of our favorite places.
After dinner, we introduced them to the world's best chocolate.
And then we headed home, crawled in our pj's and watched a movie :)
Saturday morning, we got the girls a babysitter, and drove north to the Pioneer Woman's Mercantile. It's been on my bucket list, and their's too. A few weeks ago, I reminded them that they only had a few weeks left with a free place to stay, so they might as well make the trip now. And, I'm so glad they did.
These ladies are lots of fun.
We arrived a little after 10, and decided to go ahead and get in line for lunch. The wait wasn't horrible, and by 11 we were inside and seated. Across the street from the Mercantile restaurant is Ree's pizza place.
And right next to the Mercantile is her Boarding house. It's booked through 2020 though, so don't be expecting to stay anytime soon!
The Menu gave me all the heart eyes.
I settled on lasagna
and, added on a side of green beans.
and splurged on Creme Brûlée for dessert.
Ladd was even there making the rounds and chatting up everyone!
After lunch we browsed around, but didn't buy anything. I mean, I probably should've gotten a cookbook.
We went upstairs and got cookies for the girls.
Her lodge was open, but we didn't have time to go. Our babysitter had to be gone by 4, and we were practically gone all day anyway, so it didn't make sense to try to squeeze it in and feel rushed... the drive was an hour and a half back to Tulsa.
But, we did make it to The Buckin Flamingo.
Y'all, the Mercantile was fun and the food was yummy, but if you're looking for something else to do while visiting, you're going to be pretty disappointed. Pawhuska is a small town, and there's nothing else to do. It's a great day trip though.
We got home and relieved the sitter and the girls loved their gigantic sugar cookies.
We did some local shopping, and then the girls asked if they could go to the pet store. They're really wanting a cat, but DJ is not a cat fan. We took this photo just to tease him.
And then we went for dinner and ordered several appetizers to split.
Addy's a girl after my own heart.

We came home and put the girls to bed, watched Mama Mia, and then I turned on the 1st quarter of the DVR'd Texas game, and look who I saw on TV. Yup, DJ- right there in the right corner :)
Sunday morning we made it to church. We've been out of town so much and haven't been in several weeks and it felt so good to be back. The sermon was great, and we said a few good-byes because I don't know what the next few weeks will look like and if we'll be back before we move.
After church, we picked up friends and hit up the pool.
We ended Sunday night by watching the sunset, playing Sorry, and having a big sleepover in my bedroom.
