Convention Party & Day 1

Whew! After a whirlwind of a week last week in Salt Lake, I'm spending this week playing catch up and relaxing a bit before we're off on another adventure! But, I'm reacapping our Salt Lake trip and some highlights from the Young Living Convention.

This year, we were able to attend the Silver, Gold, Platinum party before convention began and it was totally tubular! We all dressed up in 80s fashions, and had the best night dancing!
I ordered a tutu from Amazon, wore my New Kids on the Block t-shirt, lace gloves, and lots of jewelry.
Angie and I were ready to party!
Hey, hey! It's a Welte Selfie! I'm so thankful that my uncle and cousin do this business thing right along with me!
Here's our tribe, all ready to party 80s style!
Our first stop was the Ningxia bar!
Shots of Ningxia, yes please!
Then we waited in line and grabbed some food :)
And spent the rest of the night rocking away to some classic 80s music!
This guy might have won for best 80s costume! His leo said Barbie across the front and he totally sported a fanny pack.
Hey, Lauren! So fun partying with you!
And, Jill is the best!
One of my friends from high school was there- how cool is it that 18 years later, we both totally love the same company! It was so fun to run in to Leah and hug her neck!
After a night of partying, I was red-eyed and exhausted, but ready for the first general session of convention.
Young Living honors everyone that has ranked up to Silver and beyond in the past year during convention, and we were able to walk the stage since we had ranked up in the past year. Cathy is literally my right hand girl, and is so amazing, and her husband was there this year! Here's the three of us before we walked the stage together.
I couldn't do this business without this girl.
And here we are walking on stage! I had to record it, because it was so exciting!
In the past year, we've had three people on our team rank to Gold, which is an average of 6,000 a month! How crazy is that!?
Our founder's wife and her two sons spoke at the opening session. Our founder passed away Mother's Day weekend, so the convention was definitely bitter sweet. I have no idea how they pulled it together to do what they did this weekend, but I'm telling you, Mary Young has two incredible boys by her side.
After our first general session, I headed to lunch with some local friends, and didn't get a single picture, and then headed to the Expo to explore a few new products. They had Einkorn cookies, which were delicious!
Einkorn is the purest form of wheat. It's low in gluten and super low processed. These chocolate chip cookies were so good!
And, then we stood in line to meet the OOLA guys!

You're basically given no warning at all to grab some props and take a photo in their photo booth. I knew I'd be "running" so I kicked off my heels so I'd be ready! Ha!
It was so great meeting them again!
That night, we took a pedicab to dinner! So fun!
And met up with the rest of our tribe at Squatter's- so yummy!

Day 1 was exhausting, but you better believe we were up again and ready for day 2!

Salt Lake and Park City

Last Tuesday, I left Okahoma behind and flew to Salt Lake for the Young Living Convention.
This was my 2nd convention, and 3rd time in Salt Lake, and I think I fall more in love with this city every time I go.
As soon as I got off the plane, I met my roomies at the airport! We stayed together last year and again this year.

We dropped our bags at the hotel, and then headed to the Aromashare event, which is just a bunch of oil vendors, think craft fair style, all in the same area. There were education books, diffuser bracelets, roller bottles, t-shirts, and more.
We stopped by Monique McClean's area and grabbed some of her great books & resources!
And then we met Lucy Libido who is an author of a women's book of oil uses.
We knew that the check in lines were long, so we waited for them to die down before heading to the convention center to register.
And then we went to Lake Effect for dinner, which had yummy food and the best atmosphere.
After dinner we went back to the hotel, and were waiting in the lobby for a second, when we saw the OOLA guru walk in. So of course, we casually made our way up the stairs and grabbed a photo.
So fun!
When we got back to our room, Jill surprised us with a fun gift!
And we had our convention swag :)
The next morning, we walked to Pulp and grabbed a smoothie for breakfast.
Seriously, so freaking good, and if we would've had time, I would've had a smoothie every morning.

We picked up our rental care and headed to Spanish Fork to visit Young Living's warehouse.

This is one reason, I love Young Living so much. There's a purpose behind every product, and the founder never cared about the profit.
After our warehouse tour, we left and headed toward Park City, but, we drove by BYU and I snapped a picture of the football stadium, because #footballwife.
The views on the drive were so pretty.

We finally made it to Park City and were starving, so we settled on Main Street Pizza & Noodle for lunch.
My sandwich was so good.
And Park City is so pretty! All of the buildings are so colorful.
We walked around the shops for a bit, and found a sock store. I had to snap a photo of these Bob Ross socks to send to a friend.
We checked out more Park City sites.

And then made our way to the alpine slide.

We had to ride 20 minutes up the lift to get to the top of the slide.

The slide can go up to 30 mph.
We made it to the top and were ready to head down.

Ready to go!
So, you sit in this little car, and the red handle controls the speed or the brake.

It was such a fun experience, but so hot! Ha!
So, we went back downtown, and had ice cream at Java Cow.
Yum.

After we cooled off with our ice cream, we headed back to Salt Lake and got ready for a totally tubular night at our 80s party :)

Camp Gee

Last Sunday, we headed toward Arkansas and dropped Gretchen off so she could spend a week with her Gee and PaPaw. My mom has been taking the girls every summer, when she can, and they spend several days with her. She takes just one at a time, and let's them choose their activities. They look forward to it every summer!

Gretchen was suppose to go a few weeks ago, but she got sick, and then Gee got sick, so we re-scheduled for the week that I was in Salt Lake.
Monday morning, she gave me a call on Facetime, and I loved chatting with her! She called me often throughout the week ;)
She loves Gees pancakes, so they  made those for breakfast!
Gretchen has been asking to learn how to sew, so they decided to make a quilt while Gretchen was there.
She set to work cutting all the squares.
And then Gee taught her how to sew them together.
On Monday afternoon, Gee and Gretchen ran in to town to meet Nana for lunch! Nana was driving through and on her way to our house.
For dinner, Gee took Gretchen to The Purple Cow, and she had a purple milkshake.
On Tuesday, they went and picked blueberries.

And then came home to bake a cake.
They went swimming.
And snapped green beans.
And, they worked hard all week to finish the quilt!!!
Gee made Camp Gee shirts for each of the girls, and decided to take Amelia and Gretchen to see Incredibles 2.

Gretchen had the best time spending the week with her Gee and getting Gees undivided attention.

In a few weeks, Megan and Addy will have a turn, and I know they'll have just as much fun.
