G-isms. She's getting smarter.

G had a package of stickers out the other day. I decided that it would be cute to allow her to put a sticker on each ear as pretend earrings, when we went out for dinner. The next day, she woke up and told me that she had put on her own 'earrings'. I reminded her, as I straightened them on each ear, that she could not get her ears pierced for real until she was 12. She disagreed, and said, 'seven'. To which, I replied, 'no, 12.' Her response..... '7, 12, What's the difference?' in one of the most sarcastic tones I've ever heard come out of her mouth!

On the way home from school, I was trying to explain which of our family members lived together. After a while of going through cousins, aunts, uncles, etc. She asked who her nana was married to. I had to explain to her that nana and pops use to be married, but that they got a divorce. Of course, she asked what a divorce was, so I tried to break it down to where a 3 year old would understand. I told her that when a husband and wife don't really like each other anymore they get a divorce and they don't live together. To which, she simply answered, 'That don't make sense!'

This morning I was in the laundry room. She came in and said, 'Mom, you're waisting electricity in the kitchen!' To which I said that I was sorry, and she said, 'You know better than that!'

You've got to love the honesty of 3 year olds!
