Camping Trip: Lost Lagoon

We wrapped up our Summer vacation with a little camping trip to El Campo, Tx. When we bought our camper, DJ and I joined a few local RV/camping Facebook groups and so many people were talking about Lost Lagoon and how fabulous it was. We were able to snag a spot in the middle of the week and had the best time!
Our spot backed up to their fishing pond, and even though we don't fish, we had a great view. We've also recently added a pop up shade tent and an outdoor rug to our camping set up.
After getting all settled in, we hit up the pool. The girls had fun going down the slide. There was also a rope swing on the other side.
We got back to camp and had dinner and a gorgeous sunset.
The next morning, I made cinnamon rolls on the waffle iron. I read about the tip on Pinterest, and was excited to see that it worked. And psst- they were yummier than in the oven! The downfall was that I had to bake them one at a time, but we all agreed that we'll have these cinnamon waffles when camping again.
We hit up the pool, and then came back for lunch. Guac is life with this girl.
I had a few therapy sessions, and then I settled in at the pool with a patriotic drink.
And these girls had snow cones.
Back at the camper after dinner, and s'mores was on the agenda.
Another day wearing only swimsuits. We woke up the following day for my birthday. This girl was ready to celebrate. She and DJ snuck out and found a grocery store and brought back cake and ice cream.
We hit up the Wibit, which is a big obstacle course in the water. Gretchen and I jumped off the top to kick off 38.
DJ and I were the only adults brave enough to tackle the Wibit and we both had a blast.
Gretchen spent the entire day on this thing.
Sweet sisters.
July birthday girls.
So, fun fact about Lost Lagoon- this RV resort has the largest RV swimming pool in the world. It use to be privately owned, and was someone's backyard pool and had been featured on HGTV. They sold their home, and the people who bought it turned it into a campground. The pool featured a lazy river, beach out, small kid slides, a swim up bar, a wibit volleyball area, a rope swing, and a larger slide. Off to the side was a kids play area with slides and buckets of water that emptied.

It was seriously so much fun and a campground that we'll be visiting each Summer.
