Today, I'm sharing our 2nd day in west Texas and our day trip to Marfa. If you want to catch up on our first day, click here.
Friday morning, we cooked breakfast and let the girls play around our campsite. There was a dry creek bed that the girls had the best time running through.
This girl had so much fun playing. They even set up a little obstacle course to run, and had me time them.
These sweet girls are the best of friends.
After breakfast and obstacle courses, we made the 20 minute drive to Marfa, Tx. The courthouse was pretty and we walked around the town square. There wasn't a stoplight to be found.

We even found a payphone! We had to stop and tell the girls all about it.
Instead of a dial tone, it played Taylor Swift! We did put a quarter in it to see if it would work, but it didn't! Ha!
Marfa has turned in to an artsy town and they have a festival for the Marfa lights each year, which is said to be paranormal activity and no one knows what causes the lights.
There's a historic hotel downtown.
I love walking around towns and seeing the architecture.
We took a little phot of the girls, and headed to lunch.
I loved this restaurant's boho vibe.
They're known for the rotissiere chicken, so I ordered it along with a salad. It was delicious! The salad had spinach, pears, feta cheese, and a spicy vinagerette dressing.
After lunch we drove back to the camper. DJ and the big girls went on a hike. Adalyn and I rested, did some math school work, and then went on a bike ride.
They had the best time.
And they conquered a long trail!
Adalyn rode her bike to the ampitheater and then we went on a very tiny .22 trail.
We arrived back at the campsite, and DJ cooked brats on the grill.
We ended our evening with a fire and smores.
We also had friends that were staying in Marfa, so they came up to our campsite for fireside chats, drinks, and stargazing.
We had such a fun day exploring!
