Happy Monday! It's been a while since I've shared a quick 3 things, so I thought I'd do that today!
Gretchen
1. Gretchen is excited to go back to school next year. We've decided that our homeschool journey would come to an end (we knew going in to it that we would only homeschool for this year) and she is excited to go back to public school and to a new middle school! Two of her friends will be joining her, so she'll have some friends and she'll be in 8th grade!
2. She's busy working on bracelets! Even though we haven't started her Etsy store yet, it's in the works. We've just had a lot of other things going on, and we're focusing on growing her Instagram right now.
3. Gretchen has been taking lyrical dance this year and she's loving it. She's asked to continue next year, and I'm thinking about letting her. She has become much more flexible this past year, and she's looking forward to her recital coming up in June.
Megan
1. After years of taking gymnastics, we are taking a huge jump to level 3 USGA. She was going to move to XCEL Silver, which is just a different route in gymnastics, but she really wanted to spend more time and learn more skills than she was learning in XCEL, and we are making the switch to a new team, a new coach, and a new gym. After her 1st class last week, she said "That was so much fun!" and I knew it was a good decision for her.
2. Megan's not as thrilled about returning to school as her big sister is. She says that we can just homeschool forever. Next year, she'll be in 5th grade and that blows my mind. I keep thinking about how she's now the same age as Gretchen was when we moved to Texas, and we've been here for 3 years, but part of me doesn't realize it's even been that long!
3. Megan is all about bunnies right now. We have so many in our neighborhood! She set up a bunny trap and left out carrots and spinach, and she and her neighborhood friends have been working really hard to catch one! She keeps asking if we can have one as a pet.
Adalyn
1. Adalyn has two more months of gymnastics, and then she'll be on to another activity. It was always easiest to let her take gymnastics because Megan did, but it's not really her thing. She loves it, but we want her to explore some other sports and activities. So, she'll finish out through May and then get to choose a new activity! She's thinking about dance or cheerleading, but she's also enjoying playing soccer right now too!
2. A few months ago, I started having her call her Gee every day to read her a book, and it's working so well! My mom loves that she gets to talk to the girls, and Adalyn thinks it's so cool to call her to read her a story! Plus, it really helps me out and saves me some time!
3. Adalyn is obsessed with MacGyver. Every Friday night, she and DJ will cuddle up and watch the episode. She knows all of the characters and reminds DJ when a new episode comes out. It's their thing and she loves it!
As far as DJ and myself.....
1. We are looking forward to the end of Spring Football practice! The Spring game is this weekend and we cannot wait.
2. I tried convincing him to do the 75 Hard challenge with me and he was not having it! I'm not sure if i'll do it solo or adapt it to better fit our lifestyle, but I wish you could've seen his face when I was telling him about it.
3. His CSVA convention is next month and I know he's looking forward to getting together with other video coordinators from around the country, and I'll be heading back home for a baby shower for my niece and her baby! I cannot wait to meet her!
I mentioned it the other day on Instagram, but life is really good right now. The girls are happy and thriving and even though there are some hard things behind the scenes, which come with every day life, seeing the girls so happy, has just been the best.
