Target Fall Finds

I haven't decorated for Fall yet- it's hard to get in the Fall spirit when it's still 100 degrees outside. But, I ran in to Target and found some cute Fall finds which got me in the spirit a little bit more!
I thought these napkins were just fun! We don't use napkins all the time, but when the holidays roll around, I love having fun napkins on display or for the girls to use!

This "Trick or Treat" serving platter is so cute! Set it on your counter and add some decorations on top, use it to serve a Halloween charcuterie, or set it on a plate holder for display.

They had a cute selection of melamine plates, and I loved this candy one! For $3.00, it makes a great kids plate, but it would be an adorable charger for a table setting.

I loved this pillow, because it's only $10.00 and it's perfect for the entire Fall season. We have pops of orange in our home, and this pillow is a great accent!

This "Boo" lumbar pillow is spooky, but neutral, and I love that it actually doesn't have a pop of color so it will blend well with any decor!

I found this $5.00 rug in the dollar spot at Target, but honestly, you could use it as a rug, or hang it on the walls. It's super light and would make a great "picture/sign"
I also found this $5.00 pillow for our front porch.
I bought one of these pumpkins last year, and love the neutral look of it.

Game Week 3: Texas vs. UTSA

This past weekend Texas played UTSA at home for our 3rd home game in a row. After a day of soccer, we didn't get to the game as early as I had hoped so we weren't able to enjoy any pregame festivities. But, we did get there in time to see DJ in his office.
A quick phoot before the game. He wasn't even dressed in his game day gear yet.
It was hot for this game, so I opted for shorts, booties, a satin tank, and my custom hat

Here's a better look at the hat. I love it!
I got the girls settled in the room with some other staff kids and families so they could "babysit" and I headed to my seat.

Since Gretchen had to babysit, we invited DJ's aunt to the game again.
A great touchdown run by Bijan.
In the 4th quarter, I went in to round up the girls so we could get our stuff together for post game field celebrations.
And realized I had hardly taken any pictures this game; so I got a shot of the cheerleaders.
And one more of the final kick.
We headed down to the field and finally found DJ.
We sang "The Eyes of Texas" gave some hugs and kisses....
snapped one more phoot and DJ ran back inside.
The girls saw Bijan and wanted a picture with him.
This quick picture led to...
me being all wonky and on TV.
Adalyn ran to see a cheerleader, Megan ran to find "her kids", and then we all went over to see Bevo.

This weekend we have our first away game. I'll be watching while I'm at Adalyn's soccer game, because nothing says football wife like balancing football games with kids activities.

Weekend Wrap Up

This past weekend was a bit chaotic, a bit stressful, and I'm not going to lie- I'm glad it's over! The last few weeks, DJ has been home in the morning and able to take the girls to school. The last two weeks I have told myself that I'd get out of bed at 7, and get busy, but instead I've stayed in bed until 8.

Megan came to tell me goodbye and I thought she looked adorable and had to take her picture. Megan's always had a fun sense of style, and I can't wait to see her come in to her own as a teenager.

I spent my day at a hair appointment and then I ran to Hobby Lobby with a friend to buy supplies to make our first mums. Mums are a Texas homecoming tradition and they're huge! I'll share after I get Gretchen's made.
After running errands, picking up kids from school; I wanted to get cozy. I found this top a few weeks ago, and it's so soft; plus it has thumb holes and goes a tiny bit off the shoulder which I love!

Adalyn and I dropped off Megan at gymnastics, then ran to Target, Five Below, and then back home to pick up Gretchen- drop her off at her babysitting job, back to get Megan, dropped Megan off at friend's house, then ran back across town to get gas, and finally, I took Adalyn to Raising Cane's to redeem her free kid's meal that she earned from school.

See, it was crazy!!!!
We got home around 8, and Adalyn helped me make banana pudding for DJ's staff and students. We try to bake them a treat every week, but I was out of brown sugar earlier in the week and just ran out of time!

After we made our banana pudding, I worked out, picked up Megan at 9:30 and was done for the day. It was exhausting!
Saturday was just as hectic. Adalyn played in her first soccer game of the season, and had to be on the field by 10:30, but we got there early because we weren't entirely sure where to meet the team she was subbing for.

After her game, we grabbed pizza for lunch, and then we were back on the soccer fields by 1:30 for her 2:00 scrimmage game.

She had some great moments of ball control!
We've had an ordeal with the start of her soccer season, and ended up changing her team and league level at the last minute, so it's been a bit of a learning curve. But, she loves the sport and we're starting to get the hang of it. I'm just a Type A personality who needs to know specific times, and they've been slow to give us those, which just stresses me out.

After her game, we ran home. Adalyn had a small migraine, so she layed down to take a nap. Megan ran across the street for our neighbor's birthday party. I showered, got dressed and then dropped Gretchen off to babysit. Ran back home to pick everyone up, and then headed to the stadium for our game.
I couldn't wait to wear my custom hat from Longhorn Fashions. A few of the football wives got together in early August to make hats for the season. I had mine branded with the longhorn logo, but the gold "Hook 'Em" letters are removable, so I can essentially wear the hat any time this Fall. I also custom added the lace, rope detail, and feathers.

We headed to the game- won- then made it home a little after midnight.

The girls and I got up Sunday morning to go to church because we've missed the past few weeks and won't be able to attend next week either. After church, we ran to the grocery store, then home to unload and went to our cousin's daughter's birthday party.
The girls got to swim, and their cousin Amy was a trooper.
Lots of pool tricks!

After the party, we headed to football for Sunday night family dinner, and then rushed home for showers and to get ready for Monday!

This was just the start of our busy weekends. We have more weekends full of soccer games, gymnastic meets, and football games over the next few weeks!

Texas Football Week 2: Texas vs. Alabama

The Texas vs. Alabama games is one of my top 5 games that I've attended. One of the things I love most about college football is the fans and the traditions, and this one ranks up there really high! DJ's mom flew in for this game and we were excited to share the experience with her. Megan was at a friend's house becuase she had a meet later that day, and we knew it would be a really long day for her if she went to the game too.
We woke up early and got to the stadium around 9 am

My dress is here
Hat band here
Students had started line up around 3 in the morning to get in for the game, and at 9 am, there was still a line of students trying to get in.
We stopped by to see DJ.
A quick pic of DJ and his mom..
and then Adalyn, Nana, and I walked down to the College Gameday set. This was our 2nd time hosting Gameday while we've been at Texas and both times have been an incredible experience.

Adalyn wasn't that impressed because she just wanted to go play games on Smokey's Midway, but I did convince her to smile for a picture.
So many people!
We did head down to Smokey's Midway and let her play a few games before heading back up the hill to the offices.
We were ready to watch the game and cheer on our horns.

Adalyn stayed outside for only a few moments of the game. It was loud and hot! She was much more comfortable inside with the other football kids and Gretchen stayed inside for the game too.
We set an attendance record of over 105,000 in attendance. It was crazy (in a good way)
Texas lost the game by a field goal, but honestly, we held our own and Alabama had to fight for this win.
I loved this moment of our players heading back inside to the locker room, but number 9, just holding his horns up as the fans applauded.
Then we snapped a few post game pictures.
And had to go see Bevo of course!

The crowd cheering, the people yelling, the whole day was just an incredible gameday atmosphere. Definitely one we'll remember.
