Bottlecap Bows
I recently found a supplier on facebook (Glo Caps) to order finished bottlecaps from! I'm so relieved that I found someone to make these at a reasonable price! I love the look of bottlecaps, but working full time, along with operating my business, and raising a family, I do not have the time to make these! Thankfully, Glo Caps does!
I think these are a great quality bottlecap, and her shipping was reasonable and fast! She has a variety of images to choose from!
I have a few customers that are Colts fans, so I figured that any of them would adore the bottlecap! I placed it a top layered boutique bows with a white spray.
The second bottlecap says "Big Sis"... no, we don't have an announcement to make, but it was so cute I had to order it! I figured that one day one customer would want a bow to help make a special announcement!
The third bottlecap says "My Daddy Drives a Deere", now being from the south, I could NOT pass this up! I knew that one of my southern customers would need this for their little country honey!

Abby Cadabby Tutu
Is your child an Abby Cadabby fan? I had a custom request to create an Abby Cadabby tutu set for Halloween, and I had so much fun creating it!

Abby Cadabby is a 3-year-old fairy in training and is a character on Sesame Street! Since, making her debut in their 37th season, she has taken the world by storm! Little girls are loving her!
To re-create Abby Cadabby's hair, I made pony-o's featuring strands of pink and purple ribbon. I also made matching hair bows on an alligator clip. And, since Abby Cadabby wears her hair in pigtails, there are two sets of each!
Abby Cadabby's skirt is made of aqua and light purple tulle, and is so soft!
My tutu's are made with at least 50 yards of tulle, but often times I use 75 yards. You can see how fluffy the tulle is in the picture below.
This set will be completed with the customer's only leggings and shirt, a magic wand, and wings!
As Abby Cadabby would say, "That's so magical!"

"R" is for Robot
Gretchen learned her letter "R" this week. I printed a coloring page of a Robot, with the capitol "R" in the middle.
She had a great time coloring it, while I cooked dinner! We kept this activity simple, but if you have older kids- you can also incorporate recylcing into this lesson!
Rinse out a milk jug, and use it for the body of a Robot, add buttons, for the eyes, aluminum foil, accordian folded paper for the arms, cut out hands, and incorporate other recycled items and your child can build their very own robot!
I remember doing an activity like this when I was younger, and I had so much fun building my own robot out of recycled goods! If Gretchen were a bit older, we would have included this activity!
We've also watched "dance-a-lot Robot" on Disney, and Gretchen has had fun learning all of the Robot's dance moves!!

Bows, Bows, Bows
I was able to squeeze in some time this week to work on a few hair bows! I've been so busy with shirt orders, and a few halloween costumes, but bows are probably my favorite! I find them a bit more relaxing, so I like squeezing them in, even when I don't have orders for them!
So, maybe I'm a bit early, but this is my very first Christmas bow for the 2010 collection! I can't believe that this will be my 3rd Christmas collection, but I'm very excited for all of the things I have planned, and who can resist the adorable dancing reindeer?! This bow is listed for $6.00 and is ready to ship!
I've tried to start making more pigtail sets lately, and I love this black set! It's great for Halloween, but your little honey can wear them throughout the entire year! This set retails for $7.00 and they are ready to ship.
This Halloween dot pair is listed for only $6.00!
I hope everyone has summer out of their system, because who wouldn't love this striped boutique bow in the glorious fall colors! I found this ribbon and had to snatch it up! The bows are listed for $7.00
And, finally, we have this yellow twisted boutique pigtail set. Again, they're great for fall, but they're going to last your little honey throughout the entire year! This pair retails for $7.00
If you like any of these bows, please make sure you become a fan of my facebook page: Honey Pie Accessories! I offer exclusive deals and discounts to facebook customers!

Outside Fun!
Is anyone else loving this weather? I mean, I hate to see summer end, but since I have no time to lounge by a pool, then I guess we might as well let the beautiful fall days begin! I imagine the next several months flying by, so I'm trying to enjoy and soak up every minute that I can!
I let Gretchen play outside Tuesday afternoon, and I'm glad I did! It was so relaxing to come home and sit outside and watch her play and explore! Although, it put a damper on my workout routine, it was worth it- let's just hope it doesn't affect my waist line too much though!!
She's enjoyed coloring on the deck with her sidewalk chalk, and she even decided to color on the fencing around the deck this week. I know my husband hates this, but it washes off with rain, so I let her go for it!
The cooler weather also let's me break out her kufi hats again! I love these hats for her, because it gives me the ability to not actually pull her hair back when our mornings are rushed, and she still gets to wear a little -or big- bow! And, she loves picking out the color that she wants to wear; kufi hats are just a great way to mix and match and add fun style to your little one's wardrobe!
I do have kufi hats on my online store- Honey Pie Accessories- you can find us on Facebook, or on our website. This fall, I'm offering a FREE hair bow with each kufi hat you purchase! All of the bows are made on a clip, rather than attaching them directly to your hat, to allow for mix and match abilities! These also look great with large flowers attached to them! And, I can do those as well, for a small fee!

I hope that you'll enjoy these first fall days with your little honey's! Before we know, we'll be stuck inside watching the snow fall!

Kids Art Frame Display: Tutorial
I saw a tutorial for this project several months ago, I'm talking, probably a year ago! And, it's been in my head all along! I actually started the project in June, and my husband finally hung it up this weekend! So, I get to finally post a tutorial for it!!!
If your child's art work clutters your fridge, and you just can't seem to throw anything away, then you'll want to make this! And, it was easy!!
I purchased this frame at Hobby Lobby. Twice a year they have huge markdowns, and I waited to get this frame until it was 90% off, so, I only payed $4.00 for it! Then, I bought a can of spray paint! I chose red, because I like to accent my house in red, but to be honest, I could've left it black. For step one, you'll want to take it outside and give it a few good coats of spray paint!
Now, I realize I do not have pictures of the next few steps, but you try staple gunning rope to a frame while trying to take a picture! I purchased a ball of nature jute from hobby Lobby, that costs $1.99, and a staple gun from Lowes, that was aobut $20.00- by far, the most expensive part of the project! After the paint dries, you'll want to staple rows of the rope across the frame. You may have to tie a knot in the ends, to keep the rope from sliding through the staples.
And, hang on the wall! DJ did have to hang picture hooks to the frame as it came without them. We had this perfect wall in our kitchen, where Gretchen has her little table, and she gets to do all of her projects, so we hung the frame above the table. Purchase a cheap bag of clothespins to hang the pictures from! I also have in my head that I'll modge podge these clothespins with scrapbook paper, when I actually have the time! And, if it ever happens, I'll share it with you!!!
This is a further away view... I actually just put this little dresser in the kitchen. For now, it will hold winter items, and each of us will get our own drawer. Once Gretchen is old enough to decide that coloring on the walls is a grand idea, I'll probably use it so she can have easy access to her art supplies- but, for now they're locked in a kitchen cabinet, and I have a great frame to display all of the projects she has made at home and at church, and my fridge is clutter free! (Well, sort of!)
If your child's art work clutters your fridge, and you just can't seem to throw anything away, then you'll want to make this! And, it was easy!!

The Weekend
Don't you just love long weekends?! We've actually had a very eventful weekend despite the fact that we had no football game to go to. Friday evening, Gretchen's big girl furniture was delivered, which I'll tell you all about later!
On Saturday, my husband was home. What a rare treat to have him home on a Saturday!! Well, he did go in for just a few hours, but still, it was nice to have him home most of the day! Gretchen and I went to a friends birthday party on Saturday and she had tons of fun playing with little friends!
She also got to have her very first sucker! Well, at least, this is the first that I've allowed her to have. I wouldn't say that I'm against suckers, it's just not something that I feel that she needs to have, plus I don't enjoy the sticky mess!
I love that she sat still long enough though for me to take these pictures, and I enjoyed editing them later on that evening!

We grilled out Saturday evening, and watched football on t.v. And on Sunday, Gretchen and I went to church, while DJ worked, yet again.
Sunday evening we had a potluck at the football office for all of the coaches! It's a weekly event, that gives us time to get together and gives all of us time to spend with our husbands! I made a delicous nacho cheese dorrito casserole! I was going to post the recipe for Wednesday's "what's in" link up, but I realized I've already posted it! So, I'll have to post a new recipe for you guys!
Don't forget to link up on Wednesday's "What's In" and post one of your favorite recipes to share!!!
I'll spare you with my festivities for today, Labor Day, because they weren't so festive! But, I'm at least sitting outside enjoying the sunshine, while Gretchen plays in the yard!
I hope each of you had a fabulous weekend and a wonderful Labor Day!!!

Snoozin'
It would figure that we just purchased her new furniture last weekend, which should be here within the next week, that she'd prefer to sleep elsewhere. Had, I known this a week ago, we might would have waited until this phase ended!
But, this girl never ceases to amaze me with what she comes up with. From dressing like a princess, to even wearing her crown to daycare, from the songs, and all of the funny sayings, to her very stubborn ways (I wonder where she got those from?) So, if she wants to sleep on the floor and actually sleeps, then we let her! At least until her furniture arrives!
