Over the last week, I've dropped off the face of the blogosphere. We closed on our house and we've been frantically moving and trying to get settled in! It has been all sorts of cray-cray! Here's a little bit of life as we've known it over the last week.
We closed on our house on a Thursday, the following Saturday, DJ had high school team camps in the morning, so the girls and I took some boxes over to the house and they played with bubble wrap while I unpacked the few boxes that we had managed to get over to the new house.
I can't wait for the memories these sisters are going to make in this house!
After spending most of the morning at the new house, we met DJ for lunch at Wendy's.
We each participated in their Instagram challenge, raising money for adoptions.
Isn't Meggie the cutest?!
Addy chowed down on her chicken nuggets and ketchup. This girl loves ketchup! (She takes after her papaw!)
The rest of the weekend was spent with more packing, unpacking, painting, and moving!
Monday morning, Gretchen had theatre camp at her dance studio. We dropped her off, did some more moving, and made it back to pick her up and home in time for naps. I was going to take more stuff over to the new house Monday evening, but Megan fell asleep right as Addy was waking up, which forced me to have some snuggle time with the girls.
I wasn't mad one bit!
DJ took Gretchen to camp on Tuesday and the little girls and I stayed home because it was moving day!
We played with sidewalk chalk in hopes of staying out of the way!
It was so exciting to see the moving truck arrive! It took most of the morning for them to pack our furniture. Since DJ had high school camps, my friend, Karen came over to help occupy the girls and she stayed with them the rest of the afternoon.
It was crazy hot outside, so we all enjoyed popsicles! (Even the movers!)
Tuesday night, we spent our first night in our new house. Our poor girls had been going to bed LATE ever since Sunday night, and we were all exhausted! They slept great in their beds at the new house!
We took a break from unpacking for some snuggles.
And Friday night, we all went to Gretchen's camp performance of Annie. It was a great relief from all of the moving!
Saturday morning, the big girls and I headed off to a birthday party.
Megan had a blast jumping into the foam pits, swinging on the bars, and playing! It was perfect since she's wanting to take gymnastics this fall.
And Gretchen was able to hang out with her BFF.
Once the girls and I got home, I went out for a run.
Thanks to my friend, Lauren, I'm participating in a runner's challenge and it's been the best motivation for me to get my butt moving! I've been running off and on since the end of February, but with this challenge, you run 1 mile every day from Memorial day to the 4th of July. By the time the challenge is over, you'll have ran 40 miles. I haven't ran every day, but I've ran most all of the days, and if I'm perfectly honest, I'm not running an entire mile. I'm not in the good of shape, but I'm doing intervals of walking and running, and I'm already able to run a longer distance.
Saturday afternoon, my mom and sister in law arrived, and we spent the rest of the afternoon at the old house still moving stuff out. It will probably be the end of this week before we are completely out of the old house.
That evening we went to dinner and then ran errands. Coming out of Target, we saw a double rainbow that spanned the entire sky. We could see one end to the other and it was gorgeous!
But, then as we left, we realized that Adalyn didn't have her ballet baby. She's had her ballet baby since she was 6 months old. She sleeps with it every night and takes her baby everywhere. We went back to Target and looked in the buggys and retraced our steps to no avail. We left and I was devastated realizing that we would no longer have ballet baby with us. Thankfully, I had left our number with the manager and about 15 minutes after we left Target, they called and let us know that ballet baby had been found in the parking lot. She was a little wet, but unharmed, and I was overjoyed. You see, it's not just about loosing a baby, it was about my baby, not having her baby. One day we'll have to take away her baby (she can't take it to kindergarten), but I want to be able to put away her baby as a keepsake, and I wasn't ready for us to say goodbye.
We were super excited to have ballet baby back. And, thanks to my sister in law, we have two more babies heading our way!
We spent Sunday unpacking the girls' bedrooms, hanging pictures around the house, and organizing.
Here's a sneek of what we've accomplished. Later on, I'll post a house tour on the blog.
Here's part of Meggie's room. This week, I'm going to be searching for a print to hang above her bed.
And here's a little of Addy's room.
Once my mom and sister in law left, we did some relaxing and snacking.
Addy Pearl has learned to climb into the fridge to grab some fresh fruit.
We spent Sunday night enjoying our first movie night in our new house! We watched Padington, and Gretchen loved it!
That's life as we've known it over the last week! Hope your's has been fabulous!
Yay for a new house and making memories !!!
