Saturdays Are for Football....

Saturdays are for football, and this weekend was no exception. Tulsa took on Navy at home, and it was an exciting game! DJ's sister, brother in law, and our niece and nephew came in to town for the game! We were so thrilled to have them with us this weekend!
Since the coach's wives weren't tailgating, we didn't arrive to the game super early, but we still had time to check out the kids club bounce houses and listen to the band perform pre game!

As we made our way back to the stadium, we passed the tailgate for Naval members that are stationed on the USS Tulsa. We stopped and said hello and thanked them for their service.
And then we found this guy outside of the stadium, who was giving out little football stress relievers. I'm so glad Gretchen grabbed one because it came in handy at the end of the game!
They ended up dropping more mini footballs from this electric truck!

The kids had fun running after the footballs as they fell!
Once we made our way into the stadium, we headed straight for DJ's office, so we could wish him luck before the game, and take a potty break :)
And then we were ready to cheer on our boys!

TU led the first quarter 14-0!
We watched the pom squad perform, and then y'all.......
one of the girls was proposed to and she said "yes!" Isn't that just the sweetest?!
This year, I've managed to keep the girls outside for the first half of the game, and then we head inside for a little bit. Addy was cheering on our boys, and eating a snack in the suite.
Meanwhile, my sister in law were sitting on the floor right by the windows, because it's the best seat!
At the end of the 3rd quarter, we were back outside, and taking selfies to keep ourselves happy. I asked Addy for a picture, and after she takes a "pretty one" she always wants a "silly face".
And her tongue is so red because she just finished a jolly rancher! The girls love to steal them off of Mrs. Micki's desk in the office!

The 4th quarter was a nail biter, and we didn't bring home the W, but our boys are playing hard and making some great offensive and deffensive plays.

It's so funny that growing up, I couldn't care less about football. I was on the dance team in high school, but couldn't tell you if we were on offense or defense, or what the difference was. When I met DJ, I slowly began to learn about the game, and now I can tell you almost anything. Well, maybe i'm not an expert at positions or penalties, but maybe anything else ;) It's become such a part of our life, and we truly love being a part of this college football world.

Lately, I've seen a lot of posts about cheering against us, or fans being upset when teams loose..... lots of "coaches" come out on social media on Saturdays. Can I just ask that you try to remember that these men have families, and we have feelings too. As a wife, you take the losses just as hard as the players and even harder than the fans. We are just as disappointed as the fans are, but even more so because we know that it could be our husband's job on the line. We're only 5 weeks in to the college football season, and there's still more games to be won!
We're so thankful these cousins could be together, and we're raising them to love our boys in blue!
