TU Wives Trip

Last Friday DJ and I jet setted off to Connecticut with the football team. I mean, he was going anyway, but the coaches were nice enough to let their wives tag along!
I was settled in with a book, my blanket scarf, and ready for a weekend away!
It's been a while since we've had a trip with just the two of us!
After a 2 1/2 hour flight, DJ went to work setting up meeting rooms, and I settled in to the hotel room with this view. Our tress in Oklahoma haven't changed colors, so I enjoyed seeing the Fall foliage in Connecticut!
So, the coaches wives always go to dinner together, because the husbands are in team meetings and have a team dinner. But, some of my Young Living friends, that live close to Hartford were willing to drive to meet me and have dinner! I was so excited to squeeze their necks! Jill and I met in June when we went to convention, but this was my first time meeting Melissa, and we just had the best time! It's so funny how the internet and a little company can bring people together! We chatted about life and business and laughed and had the best time!
We headed to West-Hartford to eat at Bar Taco. Melissa had chosen it for us, and it didn't disappoint!
We had margartias, and I chose the shrimp taco, fish taco, and chicken taco! Yum!

I got back to the hotel a little after 9, which ended up being perfect timing because DJ came in from dinner with his students just a few minutes later. We hung out with some other staff members before going to bed.
Saturday morning came early, and DJ was out of the hotel for a morning run, and then to head to the game. I didn't even see him until around 10:30 when I snuck up to the press box to say good morning! Okay, I didn't really sneak- I had a press pass :)
Since we arrive at the game with the team, the wives have lots of time to take in the game day sights, find our seats and get settled in. We were ready to cheer on our boys!
Back up in the press box, DJ had some pretty great views!
Those trees though!
Before the game, DJ and I headed down to the field for a pre-game selfie.
And then he got to work, and the team came out, prayed in the end zone, and got ready for kick off.

So, the game wasn't great. We had a fan heckling us, and he was just a real jerk, and by the 3rd quarter I was over him. So, back up to the press box, I went.
DJ was working on game film, and I did my best to avoid the game. And ya know what? We scored. Not once, but twice. And then we had the ball back with less than a minute to go, and through a pass in to the endzone that if caught, would've meant that TU would win the game! Unfortunately, we didn't catch the pass, and win the game. But, I avoided the game, because when I did we scored. I thought to myself, that I should've avoided more of the game, because maybe we would've won. Nope, I'm not superstitious at all- ha!
A few hours later, and we were back on the plan and ready to fly home to see our babies.
Fun story- DJ and I both had sniffly noses on the flight home. I'm pretty sure that flying just does that to us. So I pulled out my RC, and we each put a drop on the tip of our nose, and the sniffling stopped!
Once we landed, we headed back to DJ's office so he could finish up the film. We made it home a little after 9, and just as quickly as we had left, our trip was over.

While we were away, the girls had fun with their Aunt Jan.
She let the girls pick out little hair clip ins and fixed Gretchen's hair.

Gretchen texted me while we were away, and tried to convince me that she had dyed a few sections of her hair and that it would wash out in 10 washes! But, she couldn't fool me!
The girls also baked cookies, and apparently, ate a lot of black icing!
They also made little pumpkin cupcakes.
I know they had a great time with their aunt!!!
