Come On In: Gretchen's Room

We finally had a chance to deep clean the girl's bedrooms, and I finally remembered to take pictures to share Gretchen's bedroom.

Since we moved in, I've tried to show y'all a little home tour as we've completed rooms.

We still have plans to paint, but it just wasn't something we prioritized right now.

To see other rooms in our Austin house:
Come on in to Gretchen's bedroom.

She still has her Paris theme quilt, but I have a feeling she'll be wanting to update it very soon. Especially, if she were to realize that Pottery Barn Teen has the cutest Harry Potter bedroom decor right now.
Her nightstand usually has a pile of books on it. Thankfully, I was able to get her to put them away ;)
She chose this room because it has a little window seat. We often find her sitting here reading, or using it as a table for her lego creations.
This girl definitely needs a creative space!

The desk was made by DJ's dad and was actually DJ's when he was a kid!
Her chair came from Target.
And the white peg board is from Ikea, as is the white picture shelf ledge.

My friend gifted her the name drawing when she was little, and it's one of my favorite pieces in her room.
Her dresser is filled with tons of pictures, and her jewelry box.
Her eiffel tower lamp came from Target, and is sold out, but here's a cute option.

We store all of her books in the middle of her dresser. It opens up and there's a great shelf area inside!
This shelf use to be in her closet, but we turned it on it's side for more book storage. Her CD player was mine when I was a teen, and she loves it so much! She also displays her Harry Potter Lego creations here.
Above her radio is a little collage wall.... pictures of her, her family, and her friends, along with some art she's created herself.

Her room is definitely her space, and in true pre-teen fashion, there are almost always dirty clothes on the floor, creative piles on the desk, and books everywhere!

I'm assuming that in another year or two, she'll outgrow the Paris theme, and at that time, we'll probably paint and makeover her space.

Until then, we're going to enjoy this little pre-teen stage she's in, and let her read, dream, and create away in her safe haven.
