Weekend Wrap-Up

We have had a fun-filled, busy, at home weekend! The girls and I typically have pretty lazy weekends, but this weekend was jam packed full of at home fun! DJ flew to Orlando on Thursday, since TU played Friday night, so I declared Thursday and Friday a Girls Night and we made the most of it!
The big girls were able to face time with DJ and Meggie loved watching daddy on the computer! She wanted to "watch daddy" Friday morning before we headed to school. I love that we can face time while he's away, and the girls loved talking to him! He even said their bedtime prayers and afterwards, both of them went to bed.

The girls had been begging all week to have a sister sleepover, so I told them they could on Friday. As soon as we got home from school we all put on our pajamas!
Once our pj's were on, Gretchen and Megan did "arts and crafts". Gretchen thought of it all by herself! She drew and cut out their hands and they made 'thankful turkey's' and both of them wrote everything they were thankful for and colored their turkeys.
Then we had a dance party in the living room while we waited on dinner to finish.
I let the girls have breakfast for dinner. They had peaches and cinnamon rolls and had a picnic on the floor while watching t.v.

We love floor picnics because they're easy to clean up and this was Adalyn's first time joining in with a picnic!
The girls played with babies.
And there may have been a bit of jumping on the couch.

I started a fire because it was so cold out and enjoyed watching the girls play.

I tucked Adalyn into her room and then I put the big girls in my bed to sleep.
I let them watch one more t.v. show and then tucked them into bed.
Bailey and I enjoyed our fire and watching the TU game on t.v.
When I finally went to bed, I found the girls sleeping like this.

I told DJ that he'd have to sleep in Megan's room once he got home because our bed was full!
Saturday morning, I brought the girls upstairs and worked on a few orders.

That afternoon, the girls and I went to a birthday party.
It was SO cold, but the girls wanted to play outside before we came home.
There was a crawl through tunnel that was more of a slide than a tunnel.
Poor Megan could not figure out how to get up the tunnel! She threw a huge fit and it was so funny! I had to climb in and push her up.
We came home and DJ was making his dad's chili and his mom's chex mix!

He let the girls help.
I'm sure the girls will learn the recipe as they get bigger. Homemade chex mix is a huge holiday tradition in his family, and DJ makes it several times during the holidays!
And we loved the Chili! We had to beg his dad to share the recipe with us several years ago, and it's the only chili that DJ will make.
The girls were crazy silly at dinner.
Before bedtime, the girls had hot chocolate!
It was really good!

DJ let me sleep in on Sunday morning and once I woke up, I started the craziness of decorating our house for Christmas!
Here's a little sneak peek! I snapped this pic with my phone and texted it to my mama! I had to get her stamp of approval.

Adalyn had an early morning nap and then we all had lunch.
Megan wanted a piece of turkey and I had to put her on the counter to eat it because Bailey ate the first piece out of her hand!

I literally spent the entire day decorating our house, working on laundry, and then cleaning up the huge mess I made.
I let the girls stay in their pj's all day. Gretchen chose to wear dress up, and Meggie ended up putting on leggings. But other than that, they were just a hot mess all day.
After dinner was bath time. Adalyn had this crazy hair all weekend because her daycare teacher had put her hair in pigtails and then twisted them around. One of the twists fell out as soon as we got home on Friday, but the other one stayed put, which resulted in half straight and half curly hair. It was crazy!
I was so thankful when DJ got home! We only have one more Sunday of him being at the football offices, and he informed me we only have 11 more days of football season!!!! I finished up with bath time while DJ worked on laundry and then we were able to get it all put away before getting the girls in bed! They must have been exhausted too because neither one of the big girls got out of bed, and Megan actually fell asleep in her room rather than on the floor!

I can't believe how much we got accomplished this weekend! This week is going to be crazy busy! We have dance tonight, and I have IEP meetings every single day after school this week! Praying that we can make it through the craziness of the next few days so we can enjoy Thanksgiving!

Find me everyday:
