We had a lot going on over my week and a half blogging hiatus! Here's a bit of what we have been up to!
My grandma broke our entertainment stand while she was here a few weeks ago! She loves to visit and move around our furniture and thought our t.v. stand needed to be moved down a few inches. As she moved it, a leg popped off! We had been wanting a new t.v. stand anyway, so once she broke ours, she decided she would give us the money to buy one as our Christmas present! I ended up finding an already refurbished dresser from a garage sale Facebook group and it's the perfect entertainment stand! We bought it while DJ had a buy weekend, so that Saturday night, he moved everything over. Now the bad news is that I still want to paint it and distress it because it's stark white, but I'll be waiting awhile for that project.
In the meantime, Adalyn learned a bit of what it's like to be a 3rd child.
And Gretchen had a dress up day at dance. She told me that the sun was in her eyes.
Addy has also needed and wanted lots of snuggles lately.
And, big sister Megan pretended that Addy was her own little baby. It was really sweet to watch them play baby dolls together.
I got this picture from Megan's preschool teacher. Apparently, she was the saddest Rapunzel on Halloween.
And, this picture came from Adalyn's daycare teacher. Parents were invited to the class Halloween party, but neither DJ nor I could come. Adalyn found a substitute dad and loved on him throughout the party. Then she bit him.
Here's another picture from Addy's class party.
Megan decided she would fit herself into my pajama pants.
And Adalyn has become a daddy's girl lately. She had a really hard time when DJ left for work last Saturday.
Megan took some selfies.
Adalyn ate chocoalte chip cookies!
And then on Sunday we went to a birthday party at a skating rink. My girls enjoyed the arcade part a lot more!
Addy even learned to play ski-ball.
After baths, Adalyn was freezing cold and needed lots of cuddles to warm up.
And Gretchen's class celebrated the 50th day of school. Of course she needed a poodle-skirt for the celebration, so I spent about 20 minutes making her one Monday night.
Daddy came home right at bedtime and Adalyn was thrilled to see him!
These two look exactly alike!
Gretchen celebrated her 50th day of first grade with a 50s day and sock hop! They even had root beer floats for a snack.
I was able to sneak down to the gym between therapy kids to see Gretchen at her sock hop! She said that she was pretending to ice skate! This girl loves to dance! After her ice-skating, she did a little ballet number for me!
The other day I told DJ that we are finally in the countdown to football being over and I could not be more ready! September is always our high of anticipation and excitement for the season. We get over the "honeymoon phase" in October, and come November, I'm just ready for football to end. We are definitely at that point now that it's getting dark at 5:30, the weather is getting colder, and I feel like we just keep getting busier and busier! We have our very last home game (that the girls and I will be attending) this weekend, and three more weeks and we are done! It couldn't come fast enough! Please don't get me wrong, I am so thankful that DJ is able to go to work in a job that he loves every single day. We are a very blessed family, but I know that in a few weeks, we'll have a little bit of "normal" before recruiting season hits and then spring ball! I'm looking forward to those weeks of "normal".
I hope y'all have a great Friday and a great weekend!
Be blessed!
