This week is not my favorite week ever. It was our last week of summer vacation and I'm crazy bummed about it! All good things must come to an end, and alas, it's not different with summer. I have loved being home with my girls! I have loved the memories we've made, the vacations, the days at the pool, and the lazy days at home! I am truly going to miss it.
I'm linking up with Erika, Andrea, and Narci for Friday Favorites and sharing a few of my favorite moments from the week!
We decided to make Monday a "stay home" day. We had been gone since Thursday and I needed a day at home to get some decorating done, laundry, and the house picked up.
The girls made school busses for a little project and did some coloring while I was fixing their lunch.
Adalyn insists on eating in "daddy's chair' now. She wants nothing to do with her high chair and now that DJ is gone with football, she's taking full advantage!
After Addy went down for her nap, the big girls cut out their bus and glued them on to paper.
Leotards have been the norm for the girls this summer. I swear I'm not buying my girls a summer wardrobe next year. They don't wear normal clothes anyway in the summer. It's all leotards, dress up, pajamas, and swim suits.
Megan showing off her school bus!
After Addy's nap, I finally worked up the nerve to hit the grocery store. It was 5:00 at night, and I thought surely it wouldn't be too busy! I was wrong! I think everyone was getting groceries before heading home. We had to park in the back and by the time we got to the store, Megan had fallen asleep.
Awesome.
But, I do have to brag on my little monkeys. They were super good at the grocery store!
We came home, unloaded, had a quick dinner, and then I sent Gretchen up for her shower while I got started on making homemade tortillas for some freezer meals.
She insisted on helping after her shower. The girls loves to cook and bake!
Tuesday morning I had errands to run. The girls and I got up and I got them dressed for our family pictures at football.
We ran to the post office, a consignment store, Old Navy, and then finally made it to football to have our pictures taken.
Addy was bow-less, Gretchen was necklace-less, and Megan. Well, that's pretty typical- ha! By the time pictures were finished, I wasn't too worried about what they looked like. We got a few great shots on the field, came in, and waited for DJ to finish up some work before we went to lunch.
I love my big girls! (and my little one too, but she didn't want her picture taken again!)
We were exhausted by the time we got home. I put Adalyn down for her nap, and around 5, Megan fell asleep cuddled up on the couch near me.
I had plans to meet a friend and her daughter for dinner, and I thought we'd have to cancel, but then DJ walked through the door and agreed to stay with the little girls since they were both still napping.
Gretchen and I had a little girls night out at Chick Fil A.
Wednesday, we hit up the pool.
She is becoming such a little diva!
We had a cool-front move through, and it was around 90 or so and the girls thought the water was FREEZING! They all wanted to lay down with towels, and use their towels as blankets.
I was so glad we came to the pool.
I finally fed them lunch, they warmed up a bit and swam for a while longer.
Wednesday afternoon, I got great news that I hit Senior Star with Young Living!!!! I am crazy pumped about essential oils, and if you want to know more, please email me! (elainewelte@gmail.com) I also found out that one of my downlines hit Senior Star too!
Thursday morning, I took advantage of the cooler weather and went for a run. When I got back, Gretchen was the only one awake. The little girls finally woke up around 8:30 and we made Thursday a stay home day.
I diffused vetiver and peppermint in my diffuser to help us with grounding, focus, and motivation. After my run, I was just not motivated to do anything! Gretchen spent the next hour making a butterfly with beads.
I finally got motivated (thank you oils) and went upstairs to sew.
Addy climbed up in my lap to "help". I snapped this picture, because home girl does not get her looks from me! Her blonde hair, blue eyes, fair skin. Sometimes I wonder if she's mine.
PS: I rarely take a photo when I'm not wearing make up. I have always hated my freckles :( But, I've been using essential oils in my face wash (that I make myself) and my freckles and sun spots are fading away! I feel much more confident about my makeup less skin!
I finished a ton of sewing projects and then we headed downstairs for lunch.
I looked over at the girls all eating around their little pink table, and thought, "boy, I'm going to miss this next week."
After dinner, Adalyn and I got dressed, (the big girls were dressed already) and we headed to Addy's daycare for her "meet the teacher" night.
She looked like a big girl with her backpack, her "phone", and of course her baby!
We took her teacher a Lavender Essential Oil Hand Cream as a little gift.
Once we got home, the girls wanted to ride bikes and play outside.
I tried my best to get a picture of Addy without all of her "stuff" and this was the best I got! She's wearing her "Sparkle Big" shirt that I made, MJ shorties, and her new natives.
The girls took turns pushing each other in the stroller, and Gretchen took off on her bike before I could get her picture!
We've had a great last week home! Today, we're off to get Gretchen re-enrolled at my school (I had no idea I had to transfer her every year- #momfail), then we're off to football, and doctor appointments for the little girls! #prayforme
Y'all have a great Friday and great weekend!
Your girls are so precious! It looks like y'all had a great last week of summer. Good luck with the first week of school next week!
