We're continuing our home tour today with DJ's office! I've shared our Living Room and our Kitchen/Dining room a few weeks ago; you can check those out here.
When we bought our house, we knew that an office would be a requirement. In a house full of 4 girls, DJ needs his own space. Plus, he has a ton of sports memorabilia from working on college football for 10+ years, and we wanted a place to display it all.
In our old house, we had his memorabilia scattered throughout his office. I didn't want the office walls cluttered, so we picked out the pieces that were really important to him, and we did a huge gallery wall that is visible as soon as you walk through the doors.
We have his desk in the corner in front of the gallery wall.
Opposite the gallery wall is his book case with mascot knickknacks, photos, bowl memorabilia, and footballs.
We took family photos (right before I found out I was pregnant with Adalyn) on TU's campus and on the football field. We put these photos in his office.
Here are a few close ups of his bookshelf and all of the goodies that fill them.
He started working in college football when he was in college. He happened into the position; right place, right time. The coach asked him if he knew how to operate a camera, told him to climb in the lift, and film practice.
Technology has come a long way in his years of working. Back when he first got started, he would spend Sunday mornings driving to the airport to put game film on an airplane. Now all of his film exchange is done online.
We've had a lot of fun collecting things from all of the schools he's worked at. In our 9 1/2 years of marriage and our 11 years of being together, he's worked at four universities.
DJ's dad made him this "baseball" cabinet when he was a boy. It's very special to DJ and displays his important baseball card collection in the top, and holds a ton more in the bottom.
Ha- as I was taking pictures, Addy hoped up in the chair.
So, there it is. His office. His space.
I know he's loving it!
Doesn't it feel so good to get a space finished?!? Looks great!!
