While we were home (all of one day) last week I decided to break out the Patriotic decor for the 4th of July! However, I realized that I have very little in terms of 4th of July decor! We are never home for the 4th so I don't decorate for the holiday, but this year, we are going to be home and I felt that our house needed to be a little more festive!
Hey look, I'm finally using Snapchat!!!! You can find me at ElaineWelte
Our dining room table. I like to keep decorations here pretty minimal since we eat all of our meals here. I took the big wooden tray from my grandmother when she passed away. No one wanted it, but I loved it and had originally planned to put it in my living room on our coffee table, but it found it's spot in the dining room.
I filled my large apothecary jar with red apples and placed red votives all around.
And added these little flag salt & pepper shakers that I did have.
And I filled a mason jar with little American flags.
And added a big red apple.
Over in the kitchen, I pulled out the banner that I used for Adalyn's 1st birthday party!
I mean, I did have a few patriotic decorations left over from her party. The scrappy banner needed to be ironed majorly bad! And, it was super easy to make years ago..... I simply cut small rectangular shapes out of scrap fabric that I had. I cut some straight across, some at an angle, and others with points, and then I sewed them together.
I filled a mason jar with a few apples.
And filled this antique jar that was my grandmothers with a few more flags.
I picked up some paper straws at Target.
And on the other side of our kitchen, I updated our little chalkboard sign.
