Yay! Our Dallas trip update will be all caught up after today's post! You can click here, to read about everything we did while we were there!
We woke up Tuesday morning and said good-bye to DJ's uncle. We had thought about spending the morning touring the Cowboy stadium, but after spending two days at a museum with the girls, and not having Adalyn's stroller, we decided that we should head home! But first, we brunch!
I wasn't really sure where we should go for brunch, and I knew that McKinney was on our way out of town, so I did a quick google search and found Snug on the Square in downtown McKinney.
The restaurant was adorable, and McKinney has the cutest little town square. We ordered our food and found a table large enough for our family of 5.
We shared a chocolate muffin and took selfies while we waited because it took a full 30 minutes to get our food.
I'm not sure if it's the norm to wait 30 minutes here, but we were all a little impatient at the end. Thankfully, we were all good sports about it, and the food didn't disappoint. The big girls ordered waffles with whipped cream and fruit. Adalyn wanted a "doughnut" which was really a bagel, and DJ and I both ordered an omelet.
That we could have shared because it was huge! The food was a hit and our bellies were full and we headed home.
We spent a few quiet days at home just trying to recover from our trip. We had lots jammed pack in to each day and we stayed up late and woke up early so we were tired.
One morning, the girls had an American Girl doll photo shoot. They stole my iPhone and set up a photo shoot in the living room, and played around in black and white and all sorts of artistic angles, and they even got in on the action too.
I don't know how many photos I deleted, but it was a ton!
But I am thinking of making them a tiny little photo book of most of their pictures!
The girls love to get on You Tube and watch American Girl doll videos and I think one of the videos suggested the photo shoot. They spent a solid hour taking pictures.
Thursday evening we headed to a birthday party for Gretchen's friend, Connor. These are the girls with Connor's sister, who happens to be Megan's best little friend.
Connor and Gretchen met in kindergarten and decided then that they would get married one day.
This picture cracks me up! I was trying to get one of the two of them, but little sisters always have to butt in! Won't it be funny to send their little sisters along on their date nights when they're teenagers!

Connor's birthday was at a laser tag place, and Meggie hung back with me the first go around. She was not a fan of the dark and black lights.
On our way home from the party, we saw a double rainbow and followed it all the way home! We joked that the pot of gold was in our back yard! For the record, it was not.
And I officially said good-bye to Indiana and got a new driver's license! We've only lived here 5 years, so it was about time!
DJ got an inkling to tackle a back yard project so we took the girls with us while we were picking out the pavers. They loved getting to see the coy pond.
We spent Friday evening getting our pavers in and sort of extending our patio. This was us after the work was completed. We were hot and tired!
And on Saturday, I took the big girls to run some errands. It was nice just having the two of them. Adalyn is at a stage where she wants to be carried all of the time and I feel like I constantly have to give her all of my attention. So, it was nice to not have to divide my attention between three kids, but only two. The girls were treated to Starbucks cake pops before our Target trip.
Once we came home, we all headed to the pool.
Love this girl!
After dinner, we treated the girls to snow cones.
Oh, this girl was in desperate need for a bath!
And then we went to the fireworks stand!
Just carrying my girl.
We bought the girls this box of fireworks, and then bought a larger one.
We let them try sparklers when we got home and Gretchen was a fan.
Megan was not a fan at first, but we finally convinced her to come outside and do a sparkler.
Sunday morning we headed to church in our red, white, & blue. The girls requested a picture, but we couldn't get them to all cooperate.
So we tried again at home, and got a pretty adorable shot!
We had a lazy Sunday- we watched movies, and did some laundry, had dinner, and then we had an epic desert.
I cubed angel food cake, and added fresh strawberries, a sliced banana, and a few mini marshmallows and drizzled some melted chocolate on top. The girls thought it was the best thing ever!
