July has been birthday month for this girl!
On July 5th, Adalyn turned 5!
My mother in laws family has a tradition of a "Golden Birthday." Essentially, it's the birthday that falls on the date of the age you're turning. And, since Adalyn turned 5 on July 5th, it's her Golden Birthday! That meant lots of birthday celebrations for this girl :)
We opted to not have a big friend party for Adalyn this year since we took the girls for a girls weekend in Dallas and to the American Girl store back in May and let the girls pick out dolls. 
So, when her birthday rolled around, we were traveling, and we did our best to make her day fun and special for her.
We were at the lake at DJ's parents house, so we celebrated with them on July 4th. Grandma Dee did a great job decorating with balloons and a banner for our birthday girl! 
She'd been asking for a baby doll bathtub, and that's exactly what she received from her grandparents!
She was thrilled and immediately gave her baby a bath!
Before our vacations began, we had gone out for ice cream as a family, and Adalyn realized you could get an ice cream cake! She's not a huge cake fan (she just eats the icing), but she was pumped when she realized she could have an ice cream cake and she kept requesting one for her birthday. Thankfully, her daddy came through and found her an ice cream cake in his parents little town.
She was thrilled!
We sang her happy birthday, and all had a piece of cake :)

Later that night, we tucked her in as her last night as a 4 year old.
The next morning, she woke up FIVE!!!
Her uncle Ron, popped open a bottle of Ningxia (Addy's favorite drink) and shared with her! She was thrilled!
Then, she opened her present from Gretchen.
She received a Pikmi Pop!
Sadly, our time at the lake came to an end, and after lunch, we left the lake and headed back toward central Arkansas to my parents house. I felt awful that Adalyn's birthday was spent in the car :(
When she arrived at Gee and PaPaw's, she had presents and another birthday celebration waiting on her!
She opened her present from her cousin.
and was so excited that she got a Fingerling!!!!

And even had balloons for her.
She was so excited to finally be FIVE!!!
Since Addy had requested an ice cream cake, Gee bought her one too!
And she was just as thrilled as she had been the night before!
This past weekend, DJ's family was in town for his nephew's baseball tournament. So, we got together Saturday night and celebrated July birthdays one more time.
Addy was pumped for her new baby doll high chair!
And her Nana bought her the sweetest necklace for her "golden birthday."
Their tradition is to get the birthday child a piece of gold, so she bought Adalyn a little gold necklace with 5 pearls. We'll be able to add a pearl to her necklace every birthday or special occasion, and she'll have it as she grows up :)
We celebrated with another ice cream cake.... this one was really for DJ since his birthday fell a few days later, but we let Addy think it was all hers!
