Oklahoma Bucket List

Last week, we decided we needed an Oklahoma Bucket List.... a list of things that we wanted to do before we made our official move, and since it's summer, we're working on knocking off lots of places on our list!

Our list is a compilation of things that we've really enjoyed while we've been here and things that we always said we would do, but never got around to it.
Last week, we headed to the Tulsa Rose Garden and walked around.
We were there right at sunset, so while it was still hot, the sky was gorgeous. Megan was spending the night with a friend, so it was just the big and little exploring.

This girl is getting so big. I can't believe she's 10.
And, I can't believe this one will be starting kindergarten!
She definitely has her own sense of style.

After exploring the garden, we headed downtown to Pinkitzel, which is one of our favorite cupcake places. We just don't get down there often enough. Gretchen and Adalyn had a mint cupcake.
and, I had chocolate truffle.
And, Adalyn may have had a gigantic chocolate covered marshmallow.

Next up on our bucket list, was this reservoir that is in our town. We drive by it often, and the girls have asked for years for us to go, but it's usually on a Sunday night when we were rushing home from football dinners, and we had to get ready for bed and school the next day. Last week, after dinner, I told them we would go, and they were thrilled.
They all had on swimsuits because we had planned to go to the pool that day, but there was rain instead. We walked a little over a mile around the reservoir and stopped to take in the ducks and the sunset.
Next up on our bucket list was The Blue Whale. It's a historic place on Route 66 and it isn't too far away from our house.
The Blue Whale was built by a man as an anniversary present to his wife. It later became a swimming hole, but was eventually shut down and now is a fishing spot, and the whale is open to the public to explore.
We walked from its mouth to its tail.
There are two slides heading out the sides of the whale.
And, then you can go up to an upper deck.
We loved exploring it!
And you can even climb up to the top of the tail.
And hang out of its eyes!
The girls loved exploring! We didn't stay for a long time, but the girls wanted to stay longer. If you're ever on Route 66, it's a quick stop, and there's a little gift shop, where we picked up a post card for Gretchen's collection, bracelets, and a coloring book.

We've got lots more to check off on our list, and hope to be able to mark a few off later this week!

Oklahoma friends, help us out and leave me a comment with your suggestions!
