Gulf Shores & The Hangout

We started our final full day in Gulf Shores at the pool. We spent most of our time at the beach, but the girls were dying to swim in the pool. The water was warm and it was the perfect place to start our morning.
While the girls swam, I did some reading.
We decided to clean up a little and head out to eat for lunch. We had been eating lunch at the condo to avoid crowds, and so we'd be able to enjoy the beach as much as possible, but we were running low on lunch food, and decided it would be the perfect time to grab lunch out. We went early enough that we had no waiting at The Hangout, which was perfect.
There were moments during this trip, that Gretchen felt a few years older than she is, and this was one of them..... with her ipod and headphones at lunch.
We ordered our appetizers and lunch, and then they announced there would be a foam party outside, so we headed outdoors.
And, there was tons and tons of foam! Apparently, they do this every hour from lunch until 6 pm.
The girls had a blast and made a mess!
We went back inside, and it was time for trivia! We knew that Gretchen would know all the answers, and we positioned her to get up there quick! She answered the first question, and won a little sticker.
She was so proud of herself!
To make it fair, she only won one prize, but she knew all of the trivia answers!
Meggie came down, and we took a selfie to pass some time before our food arrived.
Our food was great and the atmosphere was tons of fun. After lunch, we wrote down wishes and stuck them in their wall.

And then we explored the outdoor area a bit before heading back to the beach.
That afternoon, the little girls stayed at the pool with their aunt, and DJ, Gretchen, my mom, and myself hit the beach. Gretchen spent the entire afternoon riding the waves on her body board.
Later that night, we cleaned up, ordered pizza, and took family photos.

Our beach trip was lots of fun. We didn't worry about getting the perfect photo, waking up early, going to bed on time, or even going out to eat a ton. We wanted to relax and play at the beach, which we did every single day. It was the perfect little getaway.
