Sleepover, Sickness, & Looms

We're in our last week of summer, and it's a crazy, busy one! Today, my two goals include completing the three back to school orders that I have looming over my head, and to take my honey pie's to the swimming pool for an hour or two.

As busy as I am sewing away, I'm also trying to squeeze in a bit of fun with the girls!

………………………………………………………..
Addy Pearl is getting entirely too big! She's walking everywhere, and she found sunglasses in Megan's room and walked out with them around her neck. She's learning the function of objects that I didn't think she'd know quiet yet, and I'm reminded at how fast they grow.
I let Gretchen have a sleepover on Friday night! We haven't seen A&J (twin sisters) since last fall, life just got in the way, but the girls still talk about each other, and I was so glad that we could finally get them together!

They came over Friday evening, had pizza, and then we watched The Lego Movie. Meggie felt like a big girl too getting to stay up and hang out with her big sister and her friends!
The girls all slept in their sleeping bags (even though Gretchen complained that the floor was entirely too hard) and finally went to sleep around 10:30. They were up at 6 AM the next morning!
We had doughnuts for breakfast and I let the girls play for a bit and then we did a few arts and crafts projects before the girls went home.

The rest of Saturday was spent hanging around the house in the afternoon, visiting with our neighbors, and playing outside before bedtime.
DJ was home on Sunday morning, and since he had to cut the grass, we planned on staying home from church. It was a good thing, because Megan woke up not feeling well, and ended up sleeping until 9:30. Adalyn slept until 10, which is unlike her too!
Despite her appearing happy in this picture, she was anything but! She was fussy and clingy and not herself, so we had a very lazy Sunday.

Monday morning was pretty lazy as well, as the little girls were still trying to recover. Gretchen had her 6 year well child check up Monday afternoon, and our neighbor came over to watch the little girls. Before the dr. appointment, we stopped by the fabric store and I finally broke down and bought Gretchen the loom that she has been begging for since January!
We spent Monday evening trying to figure it out, and after three you-tube videos, the last of which included teenage girls filming with their cell phone and one of their bedroom floors, I finally figured it out! Thank you teenage girls.
Isn't my bracelet stylin'!
After I put Adalyn to bed on Monday night, I walked out and these two were sitting side by side on the couch watching t.v. before bedtime.
I woke up feeling puny on Tuesday morning, so Adalyn and I curled up on the couch and put on a Disney movie or two.
And, Gretchen spent some time working on her loom bracelets. She's honestly played with it a ton, and I'm thinking I could have bought it sooner to keep her occupied!

Thankfully, by the end of the day, we were all feeling pretty back to normal and hopefully today will be enjoyable for all of us!

As always, find me every day:
